Sunday afternoon greetings all. Shirley (Chippermerlin) called me after she boarded the Wonder this afternoon. She said they have made some super changes to the 10th deck. Nice glass enclosed area. Cove Cafe part upstairs was still closed off. She is going to take pictures and perhaps post them when she gets home.

Its a quiet afternoon in our house; watching tv and my dad (he suffers from vascular dementia) is here looking at old pictures of Omaha. I always wonder when I look into his eyes what he thinks, remembers, feels, etc. I take comfort in the fact that in his mind he is content. I know that in heaven he will be made whole and know me :)

I've just discovered a stash of Disney picture frames I've been collecting for the past four years. I've got a halloween one so its time to get a picture in it and set it out next to my mickey pumpkin.

Thank you! The thought is very generous and kind. But I wouldn't impose all our crap on anyone...

Yeah well, we're probably crazy but when you're paying so much for airfare, travelling such long distances, and turning your whole bodyclock upside down, you might as well make the most of it!

Am currently most jealous of everyone on holidays. Sigh...

We felt the same way when we went Down Under. We spent 4 weeks in Australia and a week in New Zealand and it still wasn't enough!

We took 6 weeks and drove the motor home from CA to Alaska. It was wonderful. Did it once before in 3 weeks and not enough time. I used to make itineraries. Cant do that when you motorhome, you just dont know when you will get where. Plus, you see things and want to stop so you do. Also works great for my DH who is an extreme claustrophobe. Told him I would drug him for the flight to FL. From then on he gets to relax and not worry about driving.

Good evening fellow cruisers!
I am not sure where best to ask this question so I thought I'd start here first.

We are not sure where the best place to stay is when we return. Options are near WDW, the Hyatt MCO or the likes, and last but not least stay near the port.

I don't know what/how much there is to do around the various areas and was wondering if you wouldn't mind giving us your thoughts/suggestions?

A few things to take into consideration:
*We will have some people leaving us as we fly in before the cruise and others flying in to join us for the cruise hence the airport thought.
* We will have done WDW theme parks and the Space Centre already
* Transport may be an issue as there will be 21 of us.
* Wouldn't mind shopping some more...

Thank you in advance!

PS does anyone know if there are hotels in Orlando who offer luggage storage? Because we're travelling from overseas and will be in the states for 6 weeks, we'd prefer not to have to lug everything to NY.

As for the luggage, just a thought but maybe you could rent a small storage unit at a storage facility. They usually aren't very expensive. Also someone else already mentioned something about the vacation storage service, I forget the name but I've never heard anything about them personally so I can't help you there.

Where to stay? I would personally not stay at the airport, just think I'd get bored when there are other options. If you want shopping, WDW has some good outlet malls near by. If you want to minimize transportation hassles, go to PC and hang out on the beach, you've got to get there eventually anyway right? Have fun planning.:yay:

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Ours was busy but good.

Here's something I've been thinking about but haven't had much time until now to work on.

Robin - LOVE IT!!!:worship:

OK starting to put things away, you know, in that little space somewhere in the back of your mind, for the cruise.

Cannot ship wine to the port. Check. Bummer. Going to have to pack it for the airplane ride.

Renting a car in Fresno - flying out on the 5th - renting limo - staying near PC - most likely Radisson - but may just Priceline it. Boarding procedures have changed have they not? So it is not going to be of benefit to be the first to arrive for a coveted #1 boarding card?? Anyone know?

Starting to think of what I have to pack for 15 days:scared1::woohoo:Not too worried. They still make Gar-Animals right!?:lmao: Kids get 2 shirts for every pair of pants - formal and semi formal and costumes. Well thats what I am going with right now. Sure hope to get potty training handled on the little one -

OK gonna go google some stuff...;) Everyone have a great Monday.

Well, yesterday didn't turn out quite the way I planned. Spent 8 hours in the ER. Thought I might have the flu, but apparently the brochitus I had back in march never really left and chose yesterday to cause me a big problem. Never say never but I will have to be really REALLY sick to go back to the ER.

On the positive side, I'm excused from doing anything for a few days! No leaf raking, no gym ahhhhhhhh.

Happy Day, all!

Hope you are better now.

We had a great run, it is a gorgous part of the world and the autum trees were lovely, cairngorm range are pretty spectacular.
My legs had not recovered from marathon though and I found it very tough indeed.:rolleyes1 NO MORE this year! I should probably put myself on the hio transplant waiting list right now for when I need it in 10 years!

Good Morning everyone! My vacation ticker got cancelled for some reason so just testing to see if I got the new one right. We had 100 degrees yesterday and spent time in the pool. Turned on the TV to watch football and thought I was watching ice hockey. Did you see that snow in New England? That's why we love the desert.

28 F - here this morning. SO glad I didn't need to go out to work.

Thank you for the well wishes, OTB. Glad to hear you survived the race - sore is to be expected, right? Did you take your cool soak afterwards? That's what i've heard from some WDW marathoners.

Now, I'm off for a nap. (one of my favorite cruise things to do - along with Alan the Shark's favorite - EAT.)

Hi Folks!

Just signing on here, hoping that the next 14 months fly by!

We are Marie, Paul, & Kevin. Stateroom 8064, late seating.

Kevin has already posted on the teen board. He'll be 17 at time of sailling.

My husband and I honeymooned on the Big Red Boat back in 1987, but I guess that wasn't an "official" Disney Cruise. It was the closest we could get. However, we sailed on the Magic to the Mexican Riviera in June of 2008. We had a BLAST!

Looking forward to meeting you fine folks here!

:cool1:

Welcome, Luvin Family.

You'll find the link to the cruise website at the bottom of my post, among others. You can email your info to the webmaster Jeff - but my old brain has done went and forgot his email addy.
