Jeff about died at my reaction to the castle at Disneyland. I kept asking where's the castle, where is it as we walked into DL. When I finally saw it I said that's it? seriously?:confused3:confused3:confused3
To be fair to DL, we're locals to WDW and had seen DLP before going to DL. The castle at DLP puts both castles at DL and WDW to shame...

I do agree that the castle at DL is smaller. I have been going to DL my whole life, and I finally went to WDW for the first time over the summer. After reading how much smaller the castle is at DL compared to WDW, I was expecting to be overwhelmed.......but I really wasn't. It is bigger, but I guess reading about all the hype, I expected it to be even bigger than it was.
And when we were in front of the castle at WDW, I kept looking to the right and thinking how weird it was to see sky where I am used to seeing the Matterhorn. I guess when you are use to one park, the other one is so different.

Also you may want to try the new new Big Thunder Ranch all you can eat BBQ. I have not done it yet but it sounds good. Maybe someone else here can provide more details.

We ate there in April, a couple of days after it opened. Very nice food - chicken, ribs, beans, cole slaw, corn "wheels" (cobs cut into sections), waffle cone cupcakes and beverage for about $26/person. We ate there again in August - price was the same for dinner, but beverages and desserts were now separate, additional charges. That added about $10 to the per person bill. If you go for lunch, the corn isn't on the menu. It seems to me that they added sausage. They also did away with all the characters who used to put on a show - no more Woody, Bullseye, Chip or Dale. Sigh. Just NOT the same.

Would someone please tell me how to put the information about past trips in, so I don't have to keep redoing it? Is it in our profile? Some of us aren't called Chipmunk for nothing!

When the castle was designed at DL - Walt said he didn't want it to look like the big imposing castles of Europe (see: WDW). He wanted it to be charming and accessible to kids... which it is. (As you can tell I am a die-hard Disneylander)

I'm right there with ya!

Here is what I have so far. Not exactly as I pictured, I'm not that great at photo editing. It is suppose to be the Wonder going through the PC lock with Disney World on left lock and Disneyland on right. I need to work on it a little bit more.

I like it! We had the thought of one side of the canal and the other but couldn't figure it out - I really like this.

Such great ideas! It will be difficult to decide!

Hey Shirley -- you click on user CP (on top). Then click on edit signature. Once you are in there you can put in all your info :surfweb:

I love all of the designs people are submitting so far, it is going to be so hard to vote! I was wondering though, I personally would love to put some of these on magnets for my door decoration, so I was wondering if any of the creators have objection to this? Is this a total "no-no" or is it okay to do this if no one specifically says to not use their design?

I have no objection. Was probably going to put it on a T-Shirt either way.

I would too. On our last cruise, the person who made the website had a page of all the graphics that were done by diiferent people for anyone to use. Maybe we can do something like that. If that is okay with all the designers. What does eveyone think?

I like the Wonder going threw the gates, would just like to see the doors outlined a bit more. It looks like the sky behind the ship, the ship color above the door, and the sky behind the castles all blend in.
Other ideas could be Epcot ball and the Grizzly river rapids bear mountain from DCA. The entrance signs to both Dl and WDW. Just thinking outloud. I like the itinerary on the ship.:grouphug: great work everyone!!

I was thinking the doors looked a lot like the locks in the Canal. I also like your idea of Spaceship Earth and Grizzly River Run. Great ideas. :thumbsup2

I have no objection to you using any that I post. I agree that it will be hard to decide on a favorite.

I was thinking, why vote on just one. I think people should just come up with their graphics and people should just use what they like if no one objects. I know I can't decide on just one, and most of them are not even done.

Should anyone like anything that I do..feel free to use it for signs or whatever you like...I'd be honored!

Hi All- I have really enjoyed reading this thread, and thanks to all who posted their cruise pricing. MY DH thinks I am addicted to this website!

This is our first Disney cruise, and I can't wait. We are American expats, currently living in Sydney, Australia. I will be celebrating my 35th birthday, and our son will turn 7.

I would love to make some new friends, and participate in the fun activities.

Lara

Hi Denise and Dawn - I tried to PM our details, and I haven't posted enough yet. Please add us to the cruise list: Chris, Lara and Aiden #5131 Main

Dawn - January 7 (Lara's 35th)
January 9 (Aiden's 7th)

Thanks, Ladies

I think we should vote on a main graphic for group stuff like t-shirts, or if people want to add it to their signatures. And the any of the others could be used for magnets and such. Just a thought.

I like this a lot too. Going to be very difficult deciding.

I was thinking the doors looked a lot like the locks in the Canal.

That's what I thought too. Maybe that was in the artists subconcious?

Would the gentleman who is doing the web page please pm me your email address? I have created a self updating spreadsheet for the fish extender list and a matching online form that can be embedded in a website. Thank you.

I like the idea of all the graphics being available to us to chose from - i'll bet more than one of us will choose to use more than one of these great designs.

That line about 'Sunshine state to Golden state' was very clever too - and much easier for this ancient brain to comprehend than whether the boat should face right or left.

Seriously folks. I really can't make up my mind. So many great ideas. How can I do it?:confused3

For all the DVC members out there. I just saw the point charts on the Member homepage. for my inside it would be 294 points per person. I will stick with cash.
