Aaahhh! That explains the late night partying!
I have to say I don't miss night shifts at all. I use to work at the public hospitals and it was a pain having to do anywhere between 4-7 night shifts in a row every so often.
Not at all! Vacations are just that, for people to relax and chill, whatever form that may be.but is it really a bad thing to let loose on a vacation?
Thanks! Its nice to feel welcomed and be around other people who like cruising and LOVE Disney. Most people in Australia dont even know DCL exists. Half the people who I tell about our cruise ask "why would you want to do that??!?!"Anyway I think it is really cool that people from around the world are part of this group.
Ok..I need help! as I said...I am not a graphic person in any way..here is my rough draft...need your opinions on changes etc.

I know it's too purple...
We should plan a "Plush" meet some time during the cruise to get all our little travel companions together. What a great photo op that would be.![]()
This is nothing. I couldn't keep up with the pace of the 2008 EBPC threads. It seemed to move so fast that a new thread had to be started every 2-3 weeks (once the post/page count limit was imposed.) It was crazy.
I KNOW Bear-Bear would love it!![]()
It'll be interesting carrying a suitcase all around the states for 4 weeks before our cruise...wonder what hubby will think about that!
So essentially you give a gift per cabin, not a gift for every person in the cabin?
It's nice to see another family from Australia! We too are Australian. There are 4 families in our group all from Sydney and we have two 8yr olds and a 7 yr old in our group. Where are you from?
Ok..I need help! as I said...I am not a graphic person in any way..here is my rough draft...need your opinions on changes etc.

I just wanted to put my .02 in about FE gifts. On the WB Repo last time we had kind of a hybrid. People could opt to be "independent" givers or be put into groups. The groups decided via email what they would give and in the case of our group (Hi, Cheri, et al) we each brought a part of the gift and we picked a day to assemble it onboard.
Other groups went in together and had commemorative items made. Someone was responsible for placing the order and bringing everything, and they just divvied up the distribution. thing I liked about being part of a group was that it made the distribution much easier. We each took a deck, I think and we had it all done in about 30 minutes.
Personally, we LOVED getting something every day, rather than having everything all bunched together on just a few days. I know that having to be responsible for a particular day might be a burden for some, but in that case, I don't think anyone would be too upset if someone "skipped" their day and did it on another day instead, but having it organized MOST of the time would be kind of nice.
But that's the only way I've ever seen it done. Perhaps others have more experience and can shar a better way!
Any gift is a good gift, I say! I'm just excited to be able to break out the FE again!
Hi, my name is Klara and I will be joining you guys. Since I live in California I can't wait to bring the Wonder home. I will be celebrating my birthday while on ship so I can't wait. I also would like to be in the FE. Just did my first one and thought it was a blast.
The 'group' giving worked out very well, especially for the commemerative items. Carol mentioned our dry erase boards, one team did mouse pads with the ports of call. Carol (et al), didn't we even have a team that paid for the lanyards? That was especially nice, since trying to collect $ from such a large group would have been a nightmare. So while that gift was not a surprise (as we needed to order a specific number and make name tags), it was a great way to organize it. We just did the 'lanyard team' for our Tortola cruise and it worked out very well.
Hi Klara, nice to see another 'Tortolian' in the mix!
.
I grew up in Escalon. It was very small. Seattle is much better.
Bingo, in AG! Which of the 5 are you in?![]()
On the 2008 EBPC some did one/cabin, some did one/person. We did 2/cabin. Some gave a handful (as in loose candy) per cabin. It really just depends on what you plan to share and how YOU decide to share it. The whole idea is to have fun, so no one should feel this is a burden. So essentially you give a gift per cabin, not a gift for every person in the cabin?
We didn't assign days, but somehow it all worked out. There wasn't a day that went by that we didn't have at least 3 or 4 items left in our FE. I think there were some that wanted to give out their goodies early on so they didn't have to worry about it anymore. Others waited a bit to get aclimated to the ship. We decided to wait until the 2nd week of the cruise. And then we took a few days to do it, a deck or two each day. DH and I had a lot of fun strolling the ship, seeing how everyone (not just those here on the DIS) decorated their doors.I liked the way we did the WB repo, getting gifts every day was fun and then there were people putting extra things in there too that werent on teams.
I don't remember who was in charge of each thing, but we had lanyards, wrist bands, t-shirts, name tags that were all distributed at the beginning of the cruise.Hi! I am sooo glad someone mentioned lanyards! I'll be happy to contribute to and help with them! We helped with the ones for the first 5-night cruise last September----I think I see some familiar names on this PC cruise----I'm just glad we won't have any tropical storms in January----I found out that I do get seasick---but my husband doesn't. Sigh.
Great picture! I know our dragons will enjoy meeting other furry (& non-furry) critters. Here are a couple of my ideas. Will do some more with some of the ideas given.

Hi Tenya, my DD will be 17 too. I hope there will be some more older kids traveling.. My DD is taking AP classes that year and I will need to sign a contract and Home school her for the cruise. DH thinks the school will have a fit and he is right...But DH doen't want to cruise the PC and we do what better way to see PC and hang out with Mickey.
Lisa
We'll just miss each other at WDW. We'll be there October 25-November 4. But we're in North Dallas so we should definitely try to hook up some time in the next 15 months. Our kids are much younger though, 2 & 4 right now (3 & 6 on the cruise.)Hi Lisa, Carly would be interested in getting to know your daughter before the cruise. Does she text (what teenager doesn't) or is she on facebook? PM me the information if she's interested.
We just started homeschooling. Carly has hated public school since she was little. She's a serious student and finally got fed-up with teachers having to deal with kids who goofed off instead of teach. She goes to school 1 1/2 days a week at a small, Christian "homeschool" and does all the lessons at home. We'll just have to get everything in advance. This cruise is a life lesson that can't be passed up.
Our last cruise was the first one we've done much Dis stuff on. We didn't have a specific day to pass out FE gifts. We just did little bits at a time and eventually got everyone.
I like all the logo designs so far. I think the Wonderama would work for men and women.
I'm up for pre-cruise meets too. We live in the DFW area. We'll also be at WDW Oct. 16-23 and Dec. 18-26 and then sometime this summer. Just pm me if anyone is interested.
Tenya

I am Susan and since my non-Disney fanatic husband Tom loved the first cruise---he has decided that another one is in order---and I'l be celebrating a 40-mumble-something birthday on January 17th---so we are killing two birds with one stone. We live in Maryland, work for the National Archives---no kids---but have 2 dogs---we'll be bringing a stuffed doggie on the cruise to make up for the ones that usually sleep with us---so I am excited about a stuffed animal cruise picture! I am already working on the FE gifts! Can someone who did the PC cruise previously please let me know a ball-park figure for the number of cabins that participated in the FE?
I really really really look forward to thie planning and then meeting all of you and having lots and lots of fun on this special cruise!
