CRUISE DOCUMENTS ARRIVED TODAY!! SNAIL MAIL!! luggage tags and contract looks like. is that right -i mean is that all we're getting?!

Yes, afraid so. A bit pathetic really isn't it?:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Tenya, thank you for the offer but we have a 5B. The categories we don't have are:
T Concierge 1-Bedroom Suite with Verandah
4E Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah
6A Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah
9C Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom
9D Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom
11C Standard Inside Stateroom
Val

If I get upgraded to a T, then you can all come and visit!!!;)

Aren't a lot of these categories just the same room but in a different location? Once Cat 6 is much like another Cat 6 etc!! So, perhaps we don't need 9C and 9D?? Well at least we wouldn't be missing too much if we don't anyway.

I'm really exited now! The spiral-bound book is sooo cute! Two years ago when we were on the first-ever DCL 5-night cruise, I think the booklet looked like vouchers---right? This one feels so much more professional! I especially like the little ship contact information cards---1 goes to the in-laws, 1 goes to the doggie sitter, and 1 goes to the friend getting our mail.

I do have a question----does one have to do the on-line check-in or can we wait until we get to the port?

Oh, I also purchased a new printer on Amazon this morning----so I'll be able to make the nametags soon! So if anyone new is interested in having them for their lanyard, please PM me! They will be printed on cream-colored card-stock with our official map logo in the background---I'm still working out the size and font for the names----they need to be big enough to read yet small enough to fit in the lanyard pouch. Sigh.

I hope everone has a Great Sunday today!!!!! And here's hoping that all of your DCL cruise docs arrive safely on Monday:)

I am not working on the Personal Navagator for this cruise so I don't know when/if it will be printed or ready to be printed.

I can print out the room tour list and have copies of them in my FE, room 6572, for those who need a copy. If someone is keeping a whiteboard of events on their door, maybe they will post the info - can't speak for them.

On the WBTA, we had our room open on the tour but I didn't organize the tour, Lynne, AKA Orlandothebeagle did. She has been very helpful by giving me advise on how to organize this event. Bob and I switched off so we could each see the cabins we really wanted to see. Bottomline, it is a challenge to have your room open and see the other rooms - but it can be done - sort of. First, I suggest that we start the tour on deck one, with the people whose cabins are on the tour getting there a few minutes before the tour and running ahead as their deck is next. The tour can end on deck 8, where the suites are, rooms everyone wants to view. (special thanks to the 3mmm and Tigfanjeff families for opening their R & S suites) When more then one person offered a cabin in the same category I didn't decline because I felt this would give people an opportunity to see one of them at least.

While this is the first time I have organizing a room tour, I have a lot of experience organizing events (missed a board meeting once and ending up the chairperson organizing theme parties for 250 people for 5 years) so if I learnt one thing it is that herding cats is easier then herding people - and sometimes they are better tempered. I'll try to direct the people flow so that those on the tour are first but you know some people don't take to being directed very well. So we'll all just go with the flow and have a good time - Right? You know it. Val
I have to say, I was a bit ticked off then I wasted mytime going around rooms to look at them and they hadnt waited for me, I think its easy to say wait for the last person:confused: I think eventually we caught up, but I do think its a bit horrible not waiting for the last person.I can see probs though if you are half way around the tour, not sure how you could work that, If I mind, we all started at my room then the others that were showing there rooms went first.
I just found out our room 6044 is a connecting room. We have never stayed in one before. Any one have any info on them? I tried to change it but at this point there were no other cabins in our 5c available. I was told my docs were mailed out so I should get them today or Monday.

We hope to leave for FL on Tuesday or Wednesday. It is a good thing we are taking the camper with us. My husband says I am taking everything but the kitchen sink. But it is hard to decided what to take.A lot depends on what the weather will be in FL for the months we are there, plus cruise wear. Men have it easy- put on a shirt and pants and they are set to go. Plus I have two boxes with my fish extender gifts. It is a good thing we are not flying.
We had a connecting room with our mum and dad, we never heard them through the door at all, they are really heavy and thick and of course one on each cabin, It will be fine, I worried too.

Only if your lucky, I got no tags!

Isnt that what all the ab and cs are? just location?

YOU SHOULD SEE OUR SNOW>>>its not good.

Yes, that would be the reason the the a,b and c's. But the rooms are the same(apart from an odd sideways cabin etc). I just wondered if cutting some out would shorten the tour. Looks like it is a full day thing at the moment. I know if it had been on the TA there would be drinks of an alcoholic variety at each room, so it could be fun to watch!!!:rotfl2:

We have a beautiful, if freezing, day again today. Our snow hasn't gone where the sun doesn't hit, and the side roads are treacherous. We don't think anywhere has been gritted to be honest. Starting as they mean to carry on I guess!!:scared1:

I agree the rooms in each category number are pretty much the same - except location. They seem to charge more to be in the middle of the ship. The exceptions are the size and shape of the verandas. So, if we don't get every category we will have a good overall presentation. The only thing we will miss are the T and 6 categories. If you go on the tour you don't have to visit each room - it is not a guided tour. If someone who is opening their room isn't there when you get to their cabin, you can go on to another room and come back - if there are plenty of rooms on the tour this makes it even more likely you'll see most of what you were interested in.

While I really enjoyed seeing the suites, I found going into the lower category rooms the most enlightening. We had always stayed in a veranda room because we didn't think we would like being in a closed in room. We found them really nice, especially the oceanview rooms. We also were able to pick the specific room we wanted to book for our next cruises.

Lynne told me about a few people who really got on her case because they thought it wasn't organized as well as they wanted. I guess they should have asked her for a refund. val

I'm going to make DH wait while i go see the secret verandah? one on my floor -then he can go see it. there are a few i really realy am curious about, but was not planning on going to see every room, but hopefully every category!! I appreciate the planning that is going into this and all the other disboard activities, i just want to understand how it goes. I'm a go with the flow type, but i like direction first so i can flow in the generally right direction! so i think i understand now. i'm also going to give me permission to close my door if it appears the last have come, even if i find out later they didn't. and i'm going to forgive those who close their doors thnking i'd gotten there, even if i hadn't. but now i think i understand better. i was not complaining, just trying to understand! sorry if i gave another feeling to you.

I think Lynne was a little upset. Goodness me, what are some people like complaining about someone's goodness in organising something!!!:sad2:

For those of you who've done other PC, TA, and/or other longer cruises, did any of you bring the photo matte to drop of at Guest Services to be signed by characters? I was wondering, with it being a longer/special cruise, if you got a lot more characters sign it than on regular sailings. I got 11 signatures on my 4 night, and 13 on my 7 night. I'm debating if I should bring another one for this cruise or not, now that I have 2 already- I was curious if I'd get a lot more on this one or not, what do you think?

Sherri - Thanks so much for your message. Please please don't think I was upset or complaining about your questions. If you have any suggestions or recommendations please share them with us. I think you and everyone else, should do what works for them and we will be grateful for however long you can open your cabin.

I will be honest and admit that I have no patience for those, like Lynne experienced, and I have on other projects, that are the first to complain and tell everyone how they could have done it sooo much better. Funny, you never see their name (as we do yours) on the list offering their help. I choose not to let them upset me or stop me from doing what I can, in whatever role, to make it a fun cruise.

Thanks again. Val

Just want to say sorry, particularly to Val, that my comment about room categories might have come across as complaining or criticising the organisation. It was just a light hearted comment, following on from me offering our suite if we were upgraded() It really wasn't meant in any bad way at all, and I feel a bit bad about it. I must learn to think first.:sad1:

Don't feel bad - I didn't take any offense. Lynne had told me, in a PM, about her bad experience and while I haven't felt it from this group, know what she is talking about. Felt bad for her and embarrassed that people on the WBTA would be so rude and ungrateful. I really enjoyed the tour she had setup and hope this one can be just as much fun. I thought she did a great job. Val

Oh I think it's wonderful (no pun intended) that y'all thought of this and are organizing it and i think it's good. i just didnt quite understand it and i think now i do. i wanted to be able to see the other places but didnt want to shut anyone out of a nav verandah as we've been dying to see one before we got it but now we've jsut got it! :-) thank all of you who've done things to make this cruise fun -the excursiions, the wine meet and greet, champagne, rooom, all the stuff - thank you!

So now i have a non-cruise related question - canya believe it!! But i've got this worldwide expertise at my fingers, so i need to ask: I have an International Silver Company silver pitcher. I pulled it out ad washed it for thanksgibving, not realising in advbance that i'd need it. So i was polishing it before i put it away -backwards i know - and one of the legs broke off. :sad1: It was a wedding present 31 years ago. So i want to fix it. i've emailed who the company became, but wondered if any of you had any suggestions. I really want to fix it and keep it! Help!! Thank you!

I thought the TA tour was great. I would not have wanted it more organized...I got to go where I wanted, stay as long as I wanted and saw as much as I wanted. Kudos to Lynne for putting it together and to you, Val, for taking it on this time!

If those that complained want a refund...then I'll match what their fee was, Lynne!
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We did take it on the TA and Med and we got al lot of signatures- some from lesser know characters.

On the TA I had to miss the room tour but my husband took it and it was great.. Since he went last time he can stay behind in our room and I can go visiting.

Sherri you might check with a jewerly repair shop as they may be able to repair it.

I do have a question----does one have to do the on-line check-in or can we wait until we get to the port?

You don't have to - but you'll have to stand there at a table at port and fill them out when you're just dying to get in line. I personally would rather sit at home and do it.

Take it to a 'manufacturing' jeweler or jewelry repair center.

We did take it on the TA and Med and we got al lot of signatures- some from lesser know characters.
Oh, that sounds like FUN!

If you have ordered PC Certificate(s) or think you have ordered some, you should have an email from me today. Please check your mailbox for an email from me. If you don't have it, email or PM me.

I need to get the order in on Friday 3rd December and want to get your details confirmed and of course, the money in!

Thanks!
