From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 4

Hello Everyone,

Are there any DISers going on the "Canopy Zipline and Aerial Tram" excursion? Or have been on it before? Any info on what company runs the excursion? I'd like to do a little research on them. I'm signed up for this excursion and am a little nervous, but very excited. It's something I've always thought would be really cool to do.

Is this the one in Puntarenas, Costa Rica? If so, yes Mike and I are signed up for that one, although honestly we are still interested in Valbob's private tour, so i'm not totally sure if we are switching or staying. but with regard to your question about who runs it, I emailed DCL and asked that since i also wanted to research the company and read reviews. They gave me the name of the company- I am pretty sure it was Elite Eco Tours, or something close to that. I deleted the email because it was pretty useless- I googled the name and tried to find anything on it, but got nothing. There was a website for them but it was very barebones and I contacted them via the 'contact us' on there but never heard back. This bothers me, since the excursion is quite expensive. I like to extensively research everything on vacations, from hotels to restaurants, to side trips, etc, so I hate that I'm taking a chance on this. But, I heard the zip lining is amazing in Costa Rica, which is pushing me to just go with it. If you find anything else out, please let me know!

Weve booked 2 nights in the hilton up north for the 22-24 dec, it will be so cool, its the major ski resort in scotland, (shame its not switzerland!) but anyway, its great and will REALLY get us in the holiday mood,
After that I will have ehhhhhhh 4 nights to work.
Len will have 3 just,yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

We are too. We were aft last year and loved it so I was kinda bummed being more forward. However, we are just the second door from the forward stairs on deck 6 so that will be great with DD running to/from the lab herself and for us running DS down there!

Thanks Kay for noting the laundry rooms. Another benefit of our room- same floor as a laundry room. As much as I would like to not do laurndy on vacation, I doubt I'll make it 2+ weeks w/o doing some.

Welcome to all those who have just joined the group. We are going to have a great cruise!

I have not caught up reading everything, but I just wanted to drop in and say that we got our stateroom assignment! We are in 7046! We got a mini upgrade from a 5C to 5A. DH and I like midship, we cruised there once. So we are very happy with the assignment. I hope everyone finds happy news today!

Hi Neighbor. We're in 7048. Last cruise we were in 7548 (and next door to Des.) We like the location because it's right across from the midship elevators and easy to get to kids activities on 5.

I am trying to find something to wear for this night. I looked at the Mexican Wedding Shirts for my husband but they were kind of expensive on line. JCPenny has them but the only sizes available were small and medium. I have no idea what I am going to wear- just may settle for a print shirt. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm happy to report that the lifeboat has docked! We are assigned to room 5639. It isn't an upgrade, but seems to be in a nice location. Whew, now I won't need to steal a blanket from anyone's room!

It looks like our room is quite close to those of DCL_FAN_TAC, eeyorelvr10, clharmon and emum.

Oh, by the way, emum, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I think you made a comment about being "officially old?" Don't worry, there is life after 40. 41 has been my favorite year yet!

Hi Nicole, thanks for the info. I may try to look into it a little further. You would think Disney would be quite careful to contract with a company that has a good safety record, but it doesn't hurt to check. I'm looking forward to the excursion because I've spent the last year working on weight loss and physical fitness and can finally DO something active like this My mom won't be joining me so I'm hoping there are a few friendly DISers on the excursion!
