Not much new but I promised to let you know whenever I heard anything from DCL. As I have also said before, I have only given Dorothy counts, not any names or room numbers. Since in a previous message she said she didn't expect to hear until the last minute, she suggested I collect the info she would need now, names and cabin numbers. I won't give her this info until I get the final ok, date, time and amount and post it, giving you time to change your mind if you need to. So, here is DCL's message today concerning the Champagne Girls and Mixology tasting:

"Good Morning Val,

The cost is usually $15. Once the guest commits they will be charged whether they attend or not.

The charge will go to their room onboard. Your event will most likely happen we just don’t know where yet. They haven’t turned anyone down yet.

Take care,

Awesome, Val! Definitely affordable. Thank you

last night the DCL website wouldn't let me pull up the PC cruise in the reservation area. Tonight it said room 5008, oceanview, was available. Vacations to GO still shows reservations available in all categories.

I have ordered from this site before and they are pretty good. I found Mexican bandera shirts there. They have them in all sizes up to about 5x. I just ordered one for my husband. They were 2 for $35. I bought one and it cost $20 because I had to add $2 for xl size. They are also giving 20% off .

DCL website shows 05A #7044 available for the verandah option...:cheer2:

We left yesterday around 8 and did not have a good day. We ran into heavy rains and then we took a wrong turn and ended up on a narrow road where we had to turn around with the camper.
For those with campers know that turning a 32' camper around with a truck with an 8' bed is not easy. Russ and Judy you can relate to this. We were there about 2 hrs and finally had to get the police to help us. Will relate the whole story when we see you.The day just got worse and the rain and fog was bad so we stopped at 3:00 in Harrisburg - we only did 300 miles. Now today they are predicting heavy rains and gusty winds so I am for staying put in this hotel room for another day. Maybe we will see how the afternoon is- keep us in your prayers

We ended up leaving today around 10 am but it was heavy rain and winds for about two hours. I think John's hands were glued to the steering wheel. Finally we saw hope in the sky. As we drove into VA the rain stopped and it was ok but still windy. We ended up stopping early - 4:00 because we did not want to be in Richmond with the 5:00 traffic. We never had so much trouble making this trip. We stilll have about 800 miles to go. Hope we can make better time tomorrow-

Safe travels for the rest of your trip. At least you didn't run into the snowy part of that storm. We have had a problem or two getting out of tight spaces when we towed our car behind the motorhome.

If any of you are interested - Kohls.com have the mexican guayabara's (sp)

50% off today. Or if you have a DH who wears a small, they have a different make for under $5.

--Kaya

I know this was posted originally hours ago but I DO have a DH that wears small shirts. I can't find the mexican shirts on Kohls web site. Under what section???

Thanks Robbin!
I searched everywhere I thought!
Back to shopping.

Well I am stuck at Laguardia airport in New York.... lots of cancelled flights today and I fly standby... ugh. Looks like a long night ahead. Just wishing I was stuck on a disney cruise instead!

I hope you get away very soon. Airports are not the best of places to spend a few hours let alone all night!!:sad2:

Happy Holidays for those celebrating this week. This holidays are when I really miss teaching. I loved doing all the special projects for the different holidays

Hope the rest of your journey is problem free.

Good morning fellow cruisers. Only five more weeks!
:rainbow::jumping1::jumping1::rainbow::jumping1::jumping1::banana::banana::banana:
Time to finish up our fish extender gifts, secret Mickey gifts, mail out wristbands, and round up clothes. My head is spinning!

Jill, I hope you made home. Are we still on for lunch tomorrow, if so, where and what time?

Happy Thursday everyone!

A snowy good morning from Michigan. We must have a few inches but no delays or anything. I need to get the Christmas cards wrapped up this weekend and get them sent Monday and then I can focus on getting organized and packed for Florida.

Safe travels to those on the road, in the air (or airport as it may be).

Good Morning Happy Cruisers!

Chilly but not snowy, here in upstate NY.

One suitcase is packed and I'm trying to figure out if I can use my second suitcase as a roll on - does anyone know what the allowable dimensions are?

MUST finish the cards today for preference, tomorrow at the latest.
Need to decide on cookies - I think I'll bake this year. What are your favorites?

15$ is a good price, I'm sure my party can do that.

Good morning all. Is it really JUST five weeks? I haven't even started setting aside anything for packing. But I do have lists, LOTS of lists.

Snow, bad. So sorry for all you that are affected by the stuff. I hope you're able to get wherever it is your going without too much more issues.

Fruit cake, YUCK! But DH used to give out the Ya-Hoo Cake, which isn't bad. (This legendary Un Fruitcake recipe is chock-full of world class Texas pecans, rich red cherries and gourmet chocolate.) They used to make it in the shape of Texas, but I don't see it on their website anymore.

Amazingly, all I have left to do for Hanukkah is send gifts to my sisters' families. Luckily there's still 7 more days. I can't believe I've purchased AND wrapped all gifts. Usually the holiday sneaks up on me - no matter how early or late it is - and I hand out gifts in whatever bag they came home in.

Tonight we're going to MIL's for family Hanukkah celebration. I have make food DH an myself, because we can't eat most of the food she's going to have. I hope the sweet potato latkes I'm going to attempt come out good. And I'm going to make cranberry sauce, too.

Time to get DD ready and to school so I can get to shopping and cooking. Have a great day everyone.

I didn't find a shirt for DH, but I did order some clothes for myself. Anyway, here's the link for the Mexican shirts.

And this is the under $5 one for those that can wear a small

What are you ladies wearing for mexican night?

I found a cute dress in Goodwill the other day for DD, but really have no clue what I will wear.

Just a reminder, I have to get the certificate order in on Friday.

Everyone who filled in the PC certificate form expressing interest should have had an email from me earlier this week to check their details and send me payment.

THANK YOU to everyone that has already confirmed their order and sent in payment!!!

I have not heard from a few families. Please check your mailboxes (and even your spam boxes as some email providers are very eager and put valid emails into spam). The original email was sent out on November 28th.

I will try and send out a follow PM this afternoon (and email) to those that have not responded so far. I really, really don't want anyone to miss out, but if I don't hear confirmation from families and get payment, I can't order certificates for them. Sorry.

-Kay

Deadline is Friday 12 noon PST. I have to get the order out to the suppliers that afternoon to guarantee that we have the certificates in time for the cruise!!

I am struggling too. We got John a Guayabera for our last PC cruise and I just wore an orange/red blouse, but didn't really look Mexicanish at all!!! That is all I have this time too. We are so limited over here. I love the Mexican embroidered dresses. Huipil(e) they are called. Can you get one on Ebay?

That is a great deal. Unfortunately my DD is too tall for those sizes now, even though she is still only 6! Otherwise I would have been there, ordering them.

Sounds good to me. That reminds me that I need to go get a boa and a tiara!!

To those that are traveling (especially in this weather) - stay safe!

Lynne, Hope you get this yukky spell over with soon. Just think - only a few more weeks and you will be heading to warmer climes! Sounds like the snow is all over - my brother in East Anglia also has snow, which is unusual for them! The in-laws are not snowed in, but are staying put for the moment as they live in Northumberland on a farm on the side of a hill. Very pretty there, but cold!

Dresses don't tend to fit me :-( one of the drawbacks to being tall!!

I have a skirt and a top that looks mexican-ish. I will probably bring them. Maybe I can pick up something in mexico. Have to haggle really hard though, the stall holders double the prices when the cruise ships are in port!
