Sure, you can participate and I'll get you added to the list! I think there were a couple other people that commented that they don't take a bunch of pics. I do take a lot, but I know that some people don't. I'm not for sure how many we have in the group right now, but it's quite a few (I'll look as soon as I post this!). Cost is going to be divided among all people who wish to participate.

Awesome! Thanks so much for including us! Just let me know when and where to send the money! I'm so thrilled to know that I don't have to stress out about getting perfect shots because some of you wonderful photographers certainly will! I'll just worry about documenting the fact that WE were there and my scrapbook pages will look great (when, 10 years from now, I finally get around to scrapbooking the trip!)

FYI, Jeff and I will be MIA this weekend for the most part. My dad and stepmom just got here to permenantly move to Florida (whoohooo!!!) So we'll be helping them settle in this weekend. If you send either of us a PM, we'll get to it as soon as possible.
Thanks and have a great weekend!

If you're going to wait 10 years to scrap it, I sure hope you take good notes!:lmao:

There's a little dot in the sky...that's a person....this was so much fun!!

That is AMAZING. Where is this??? Is that someone ziplining? Very cool!!! :thumbsup2

For those of you doing the Canopy Zipline tour in PV, is there a particular reason you chose PV instead of Costa Rica for the Zipline tour? I've heard that ziplining in CR is spectacular and since we did the Zipline in Mexico last time we were thinking of doing it in CR but I thought maybe you all knew something I didn't!

I have been to Puerto Vallarta and Costa Rica (I have ziplined in CR). I would zip in Costa Rica before Puerto Vallarta. Not that PV isn't a great spot, I just think the ziplining in CR would be more spectacular.

I gave up on scrapbooking years ago. Creating photo books on-line and having them printed is so much easier for me. I'm just waiting for some really good discount codes to come out and I'll actually be caught up from our last vacation.

The one frustrating thing about Costa Rica is that all of the excursions seem to involve very long drives. Are they worth it?

I am wondering this too. I am really excited about visiting CR, so I would hate to just stay onboard, but 2 hours one way? That seems rather uncomfortable. I'm wondering if they even have bathrooms on the bus or if they stop for a break. Does anyone know if there is anything at all in the vicinity that we get dropped off at? Like a decent beach or something? Or is everything far away?

On our 2008 PC cruise we rented jeeps on the pier the morning of for around $70. I'll have to look at my receipts to see what company it was. It was really quick and easy, we had a blast.

How was your Jeep rental experience? How did you navigate around the island? Was driving difficult, and parking? I have never rented a vehicle in a foreign country so it would be helpful to hear some past experience if you dont mind.

I was looking into Tortuga Island. Calypsocruises.com I sent a few questions to ask how long it takes to get there, how long the total experience is, etc. But the beautiful blue water intriques me.

I'd sign up for the whale watching, but 3 hours on a boat with no loo? I don't think so!

Everything does seem far away.

I think we were hoping to see the volcano.

When we were there in Feb we were in the northern part where it is quite dry. Very different from where we come in to port. We took a zipline excursion from the resort and it was...quite far away...about 1.5 hours each way. It was lovely. A rainforest canopy tour, which I am told is different from a cloud forest.

Does anyone know much about the Rio Cuale Canopy Tour? I read that it is a little more challenging with longer runs.

Checkmark: We're booked at POFQ on Jan 5th! Wahoo
all that's left is the shuttle from home to the airport.

Hi Kathy,
I'm not sure how adventurous your children are but I'm organizing a group zip line excursion in Puerta Vallarta. Here is the website http://www.canopytours-vallarta.com/ They allow children 6 and up to zipline and one of the guides will zip with them if they are too scared to go on their own. Also, if one (or both) of them change their mind at the last minute, a guide will take them down to the water and animal area. We have over 30 people that wanted to book this excursion and about 6-8 others (myself included) that are just going to the water and animal area. They offer a full refund if our ship is unable to dock in PV for any reason.

Here are the prices:
Adults (over 12) in Tour (shuttle included) $79.00 (25% off if our group is over 25 people)
Children (6-12) in Tour (shuttle included) $58.00 (25% off if our group is over 25 people)
Adults (5 and over) with Shuttle (tour not included) $ 20.00
Children (under 5) with Shuttle (tour not included) $ 0.00

It seems like a lot of people have had time to review the DCL excursions and are not impressed so I will be contacting the zip line company either tomorrow or this weekend to get the group started. I'll post the info once it's finalized and also PM LindaBabe and TigFanJeff to have it put in post #1 of this thread and the website.

Thanks again Jen for telling me about this!

Hi there!

Ok, we talked to our two boys, and they are totally excited about the canopy tour, zipline, in PV! So, we're in!! If you could add us to the group, that'd be awesome... 2 adults, 2 children.

If you need any personal information the group reservation, PM me.

Thanks for organzing this!! We're excited!!

-kathy
