Hello all!
It's nice to see this thread active. I haven't posted for a while. Things have been a little hectic around here getting my dad settled, and I don't see it slowing down much in the near future. I'm hoping I can post more, or at least keep up with reading the thread. Glad to see everyone getting into the planning mode.

I hope everyone is doing well!!

Jeff and I try hard to be the good parents. We hated it when we were childless and people had a sense of entitlement just ebcause they had a kid. We love our son, and just as much as we won't take him to places he shouldn't be in, I HATE it when people take over areas designated for little ones. Case in point is the fountain are on the boats. That area is for kids in swim diapers. I totally get that siblings want to play together and what not. But when the Mickey pool gets shut down because of "issues", the fountain area stops being for little kids. Jack and the other toddlers were literally pushed out of there because the big kids wanted to play there. I yelled at a couple of them because they pushed and stepped on the toddlers. Yes they can be there, but be respectful that this area is designed for the littlest cruisers!

We had this problem on both cruises we've taken with our kids. I can't stand to see 7-10 year olds running over babies and toddlers.

I saw a small dog (Yorkie maybe) on a DCL cruise once. The lady carried her/him everywhere - no clue why but you may have hope.

That was the last cruise we were on at the same time y'all were. I saw the man holding the dog sitting on a chair at Serenity Bay so I asked him about it and he said it could sense when his wife was about to have a seizure and would alert them. Now, I know that animals can do that but that was one heck of a sensitive dog as the wife was way out in the water on a float!

We are finally back in Ct. We left our home near Port Canaveral on Sat. Will miss seeing the Disney ship take off. Looking forward to the PC again. I know there are a few from the BTB TA and Med. going- any more from those cruises going? We had a great time with everyone.

Glad to hear you all are settling in up north. We've got a lot going on the next few weeks; two boys graduating from college. I've been sorting all my goodies from the TA-Med. SO much to go through, not to mention the pics. I will always remember your dance with Clayton. :goofy::goofy:

Well, the birthday party actually went quite smoothly. We met characters, saw the muppet 3-D show and rode toy story mania without incident. Some parents and older siblings rode tower of terror, the cake survived, and we secured an entire corner of pizza planet with no problems. Don't worry it was early and they weren't full. I've attached a few pictures. The birthday boy is in the Woody shirt.

I sure do. On 6/15/10 we open reservations thru 1/7/11. So not only does that open Thanksgiving for you, but it opens getting to the cruise. Remember to go at it right away as Thanksgiving deals are few and far between.

Alan,

Any guess on what time in the morning they begin booking on 6/15? We live in LA and we're trying to get the best deal. Thanks.

I really have no clue and I don't want to give the wrong answer. I want to say 6 A.M. here in L.A. because it would be 9 at our HQ in Dallas but I really don't know. Our web site may say or one of our 24 hour reservation agents may know.

Good Morning everyone!

Jeff- Thanks for keeping us as up to date as you do- for a volunteer effort I think it's great. Whatever time you have and want to donate is wonderful as far as I'm concerned. I've been enjoying the Navigators occasionally, even though I've been on one DCL cruise- I don't think we took advantage of the shipboard opportunities and on this long cruise I hope to do more. (especially seeing the old navigators and what's available.)

Tammy~ what cute party pics- looks like so much fun!

Those of you still hoping to score great airfares- Good Luck !! We were lucky enough to score first class tickets for the flight back from CA using only "super saver" points amounts. DH thought I was crazy to want to get the flights ASAP but with only 2 seats available for super saver points in First Class- I wanted them on that longer flight home!

Yes - that would have been where I saw them as well but I think she was holding the dog at the time. I don't remember seeing them on the ship at all.

Happy Tuesday everyone. Sunny and warm today - no rain in the forecast until the weekend - WHY is that?

Love the birthday pics - what a cool party.

We were so desperate here for rain that it didn't bother us that our weekend was wet. Man it's been dry here.

Good morning all!

Great pics of the birthday party! Glad you had fun.

We are heading off to DL today to meet up with my SIL family who is visiting DL for the first time.

Have a great day!

To all Florida Residents and military booked on this cruise.

I don't remember if it was this thread or another that someone asked about FL residents rates coming out for the cruise after final payment. But check out this thread - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2468927

It looks like they will price adjust and give credit after final payment for FL residents and military special rates, it is just standard price drops that they will not credit. Of course, as if everything else, I'm sure this is subject to change.

Hello everyone. Well my last hour was one of the bigest wastes of time in my life. I worked till 1 AM. last night. Had to be up at 7AM to go to Jury Duty. I get there and hand in my paper, they in return gave me the service completed slip and told me to have a nice day. Now I am going to try to go back to bed.

Again Jen I could not agree with you more. Kid areas are for kids and adult areas are for adults. I don't get why this is so hard for people to understand. I will admit, I really want to try to get on that slide.

It definitely goes both ways! I don't belong in the kids splash pool any more than they belong in my adult pool. I agree with Alan, how hard is it for people to understand this basic concept??

Sounds a lot like our jury duty Alan, Len has wasted a few mondays on it now, total wast of time and money, esp when they are guilty anyway:lmao:

Tell me about it. I so agree with you. I work side by side with verious levels of Law Enforcement and with my best friend being a attorney for the city of San Degio. Here is what I know. With the budget problems here in CA and even worse in the County of Los Angeles they are not going after the inocent.

I'm sorry to hear you had a frustrating day, but hey, look on the bright side, you could have had to come back day after day, sitting in that stuffy room all week long and then been dismissed!
I have been called for Jury Duty next week and I am hoping they never even ask me to report. Wishful thinking, I know, but one can always hope--A little faith, trust and pixie dust maybe????
