I'm sitting here with my dog Samson curled up in my arms like a baby, and I've got to say, I LOVE DOGS!! They really are man's (and woman's) best friend! Of course, it is making it hard to type...

I love our dog... I am not a dog person (or wasn't) until we got ours. My DD wanted a dog so bad. We rescued him from a no-kill shelter about 18 months ago. That silly puppy likes to sleep on my shoulder as I am holding him like a baby. Makes it difficult to work :rotfl2:

Who does he sleep by at night? Yep1 The non-dog person. We just finished fostering alittle of puppies for the no-kill shelter that were adopted last week. I miss the little guys but will get a new litter about the 4th of July.

I know what you mean! Dogs are great! My Cinder Ellie loves to lay in my lap and then I love to cradle her like a baby. She is my baby!!!

We are going to Dallas next week and I'm going to miss her so much! And on the PC cruise, it will be so hard to leave her. I survived for 17 days last Dec with our trip but it was tough!

My animals are about the only thing that I miss when I am on the cruise. My wife would love to be able to bring the dog and constantly jokes about her learning to be a 'service' dog. I just listen and agree. We have a dog, cat, and four parrots, so I hate to leave them. They are all very excited and clingy upon our return which is nice.

We just returned from the TA and Med cruises and i heard that Clayton was going to be cruise director on the Wonder. He is great! I had the opportunity of being his partner on "Dancing With The Crew". He is the nicest guy. I am not sure when he is supposed to start on the Wonder. If it is Clayton - it is going to be a great cruise. We had Brent for the TA and Med, and I that is all I am going to say about that.

I have to say that you were the envy of a lot of women. I saw you dancing with Clayton and it looked like you were having a wonderful time. My wife was a little jealous and insists that on the PC cruise we go on deck for the sail away party.

That is wonderful about you fostering those puppies and adopting from a shelter. Both my dog and my daughter's dog were shelter dogs. It breaks my heart to see all those doggies w/o a home. I will always adopt and most likely it will be adult dogs (of course, the puppies need homes too but it seems that there isn't any trouble finding homes for the babies). My Cinder was approx 3 years old and I don't see how anyone could turn her in. Full bred dachshund, gentle, loving. Their loss was definitely my gain. :goodvibes

We've joked too about how to get Cinder on the cruise. DD even said that she could be a service dog. I don't think a dachshund would go over very well as a service dog:lmao:

I saw a small dog (Yorkie maybe) on a DCL cruise once. The lady carried her/him everywhere - no clue why but you may have hope.

I love our dogs. Heck they sleep on our heads most nights. But I wouldn't want to bring them on vacation. I need a break from being pack momma!

Just wanted to share a bit of tenitive info with you all. If the rotation of Wonder cruise directors stays the same, according to my friend at DCL Chritstian should be our cruise director. Looks like they are on for about 2 1/2 months at a time. Our cruise should be his last before vacation, of course this is all speculation, as nothing about cruise directors for the Wonder is confermed after the beging of Nov. Just like with everything else. When I know, you will know soon after. Stat tuned. I have to throw this out there, I just hope it is not Brent. If it was, and if we were not taking such a special voyage, I would cancel.

I really hope your info accurate because I really enjoy Christiaan as the CD! I have a lot of fun playing his "6 degrees of Kevin Bacon" game. It's fun to try and come up with actors for him to connect.

Now Clayton is awesome. So friendly and personable. Looks like someone else was not that thrilled with Brent.

Clayton would be my second favorite CD. I've only had him once as a cd and twice an an assist cd, but he's been great all three times.

Regarding the kids thing and the adult areas of the ship, I agree with Alan and others. It needs to be enforced, and enforced repeatedly and consistently. On the last cruise, just to take a look in Outlook Cafe, my wife and I took turns while the other waited with Jack outside. No kids means exactly that. No kids. Heck, we were even very careful with him when we hung out in diversions at a time where he was allowed to be there. If he wants to run around like a maniac and scream his head off up at the kids pool, that's fine. Deck 10? Sure. Diversions or dinner? No way (unless we are the ONLY people in diversions, in which case sure).

The one thing that I'll say though, is with the addition of the Outlook Cafe, I really wish that one of the two coffee counters would be made acceptable for children to be at, preferably Outlook. Not the seating area in either location, but just the counter. That way I could hop in with Jack, get my tea or hot chocolate, and go. That's all I ask. But that doesn't mean I'm going to ignore the rules.

As someone without kids who really enjoys the adult area, i want to say thanks for following the rules so rigidly! Although, i personally don't mind if you take your kid into the cove cafe just to get your drink and then leave again (unless the entire time they're in there they're a holy terror :) ) Even passing through doesn't bother me. I find it hard to require a parent to go up or down a floor just to get to the other side of the ship. I do get frustrated when parents and their kids are hanging out in the adult area. Even if the kids are perfectly well behaved, if they're sitting in a chair, they're taking up a space for the adult. I would agree with Alan that that policy should definitely be enforced, especially by the CD.

Jeff and I try hard to be the good parents. We hated it when we were childless and people had a sense of entitlement just ebcause they had a kid. We love our son, and just as much as we won't take him to places he shouldn't be in, I HATE it when people take over areas designated for little ones. Case in point is the fountain are on the boats. That area is for kids in swim diapers. I totally get that siblings want to play together and what not. But when the Mickey pool gets shut down because of "issues", the fountain area stops being for little kids. Jack and the other toddlers were literally pushed out of there because the big kids wanted to play there. I yelled at a couple of them because they pushed and stepped on the toddlers. Yes they can be there, but be respectful that this area is designed for the littlest cruisers!

Again Jen I could not agree with you more. Kid areas are for kids and adult areas are for adults. I don't get why this is so hard for people to understand. I will admit, I really want to try to get on that slide.

I KNOW!!!! I want to go on it to, but I will have to live vicariously through Jack when he goes on in January.
We "rent" Jack out to our childless friends so they can go on all the kiddie rides you can't go on without a kid.

I'm not for dogs in the Cove either (service dogs excepted)

Betting that Yorkie was a "therapy dog" or trained to recognize seizures or something - they couldn't have brought it onboard if it was only a pet. (not for passing off pets as service dogs either)

When we booked we were so going. That trip was to be for DW birthday. Then the U.S. Government steeped in and then we became a maybe, and then a no go. I am happy that we are able to do something due to this mess. Becieds now we have cruises 7,8, and 9 booked. One more and we are Platium. So that is a good thing.

again i'm clueless. beginning to seem to be a permanent state. whats PIF and what date goes with that? Thanks

{and i too hate when kids take adult seats and vice versa}
(of course i also hate it when people put towels on seats at adult pool and never move them - does that mean they are saving them for hours, which i think shouldnt be allowed if they aren't there, or does it mean they've left...)

PIF = Pay/Paid in Full...Usually, I believe 90 days prior to cruise date. :thumbsup2

Now, thats a whole other thread!!!!!!!!!!:lmao:

We are finally back in Ct. We left our home near Port Canaveral on Sat. Will miss seeing the Disney ship take off. Looking forward to the PC again. I know there are a few from the BTB TA and Med. going- any more from those cruises going? We had a great time with everyone.

Ok, the actual list is updated. I'm still hesitant to start the official FE and SM lists as we've had 2 cancellations in this latest update (In addition to several additions)

As things stand:

223 people in 83 staterooms, travelling as 73 parties.
This is 9.29% of the normal guest capacity(2400) of the Wonder.
This is 8.26% of the maximum guest capacity (2700) of the Wonder.
This is 9.46% of the available staterooms(877).

I'm going to work on finishing out the navigators and the stateroom map today (Along with a couple of photos I can't do at work). I know I've been very slow lately, but things really ARE calming down. Swear :)

Jeff,
A great big THANK YOU to you for all of your hard work!! As one of the "newbies" to the group and one who is often responsible for the organization and planning of many adventures, I want you to know how very much I appreciate it! I know how much time something like this takes, so again thank you so, so much!!! Oh, and since I am over halfway paid off, I am in for GOOD!!!
:cheer2::worship:

Speaking of slides, does anyone know how they are going to handle the slide on the Dream? Now THAT is one I will definitely want to try!!!
