Hello all. Well off to Disneyland again today. We are going to a DVC event at the Grand Califorian tonight. I know one of the gudies doing the event. He is out from FL. Should be cool. I am hoping to sneek out early to see the Electric Parde one more time before it ships to FL.

So jealous...I wish I could be there too! Enjoy the Electrical Parade for me and let us know how the DVC event goes. :goodvibes

Did not make it to the Electrical Parade. I am going again a week from tomorrow so I will try again. The DVC event was cool. Nothing special but fun.

I have never been inside the grand floridian.
I would love to one day, it is on my bucket list.
Not really missing much (unless it's Christmas, and then yes, it's truely Grand). The Flo (as Jeff calls it) should have been a show stopper for WDW, but instead while beautiful and huge, is kinda whatever.
This is just my opinion, YMMV!

There are so many resorts that do the holidays right, the Flo being one of them. However, I still think that WL and AKL do Holiday decor better. Having said that, the lifesized gingerbread house at the Flo is incredible.

In 2012 we are doing the wdw marathon, wonder how long the decorations stay up for? maybe we could stay a night or 2 there before the marathon and disney dream.

We were there Jan 2-7 in 2008. When we arrived, all of the decorations were still up. If my memory is correct, they started to come down our last couple of days.

Christmas Decorations usually come down while I'm there for the Marathon. Some years faster than others - it kind of depends on which weekend it is.

That's pretty much the case. Things start to come down right after New Years. It's takes weeks to get everything up, it takes about 10 days or so (it seems) to come down. So sometimes you can see stuff during the marathon, but don't put money on it.

Thanks, sounds like I need a planb, we were there a few years ago in dec, wish I had went:confused:

im still partial to the beach club and the beach club villas over the GF....hope everyone is having a nice easter today!! our tiny state is starting to recover from the giant flood last week

Oh, I know! We're in GTY 11B and while I would :love:love:love: to stay in a suite, $6876 for our family of four fits our budget just a little better right now:goodvibes

Just wondering if you have gotten your cabin assignment yet? I was a GTY and the cabin was assigned months ago. I'm not sure if that will lessen my chances of an upgrade.

No, no assignment yet. I didn't realize that they assigned some so early. I thought it was more like 30 days before sailing.

For our '08 PC cruise it was about 30 or so days out. We all joked we were in the lifeboats!!!! We were a full ship, and there were a whole load of Disers in GTY, so it was fun on the day we were all allocated.

Happy Easter everyone! Sunny day but a bit chillier than what it has been. We had some much needed rain yesterday - I think it could rain several more days and we would still be dry but at least the fire hazard warning isn't as high as it was (clear off the charts before the precip).

I booked our return airfare earlier today. Not too bad a price nor time so I won't complain. Now lets hope that I can find someone willing to pick us up in Grand Rapids at 11:30PM on our return! I still need to do our outbound but will wait for Airtran to get their flights posted for December and take it from there.

Enjoy your day!
