From the Med to the Panama Canal

Just stopping in to say Hello and catching up!

Hi guys, well, it was a very busy weekend here. On Sunday, I started the morning at the Race for the Cure 5K with 35,000 of my friends! It was so many people that I had to bob and weave through the crowd... and it was mostly uphill! I really appreciated the DL 5K. Although it was an amazing group of people with thousands of breast cancer survivors all wearing pink necklaces - one for each year of survival. It was located at Fashion Island in Newport Beach and was a crisp clear morning overlooking the ocean and all the islands were visable. Each palm tree had large posters with women's faces in memory of them. As I walked I had to stop looking at the "in loving memory of our mom" cuz I kept tearing up as I walked. There were about 10 live local bands playing surf music, Japanese drum group, Mariachi and in between them were all the local cheerleading teams. It was really a nice touch and all sounded great. Then we took off for Horse lessons for DD and then straight to the Kodak theater in Hollywood (home of the Oscars) to see Playhouse Disney Live - which was really cute!

Hey Karen, Linda sent you a msg. on the repo thread.

What's everyone going to be for Halloween?

We're going to be Colette and Linguine from Ratatouille, we wanted to be Cornelius and Franny Robinson, but found that Colette and Linguine were easier to do. We'll go to the Halloweentime at DL and then neighborhood fun. What's everyone else doing?

Thought you kids might like to know about this:

$1 PassPorter:
PassPorter's Disney Cruise Line and Its Ports of Call (Third Edition) is available for JUST ONE BUCK ($1) at very limited quantities

The big news at PassPorter.com is a new
$1 PassPorter book offer! For the first time ever, we're selling an older edition of our Disney Cruise Line guidebook for just $1 plus postage and handling (we've done this in the past with our Walt Disney World guidebooks). We have a few hundred copies of the paperback of PassPorter's Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line and its Ports of Call 3rd Edition, updated in August 2005. Since that was the year the cruise line first passed through the Panama Canal and sailed to West Coast ports, it's an especially handy item for folks sailing this year's Panama Canal and West Coast itineraries. Whether you'll be cruising on those itineraries, are curious about our cruise line guidebook, or want to share the PassPorter magic with your friends and family, this is a great way to get your feet wet (so to speak).

DD-5 and I are flying in and coming over with my friend Ann, her DD-7 and her DH to come out to Mickey's Halloween. We were wondering if anyone else will be there that night too?

DD got a new bike yesterday and the rain/snow has stopped so prepare the first aid kit. I am off to witness any damage. Wish me luck! Of course DH left last night after he buildt it. Of course its pink with all the princesses on it. Think good thoughts for us here we go...

Unfortunately we won't be at WDW until prior to the big cruise:upsidedow ...my DS can't miss too many days since I want to pull my kids out of school the last 3 weeks (14.5 days of school) of school so we could do WDW the week prior to our cruise. He could only miss 18 days before you have to go to a truancy officer for too many absences excused or not.:scared: He missed 1 1/2 days(sick) already and can't miss any more until our trip.:rolleyes1 Have fun on your trip...I heard its lots of fun.:cool1:

Your DD may surprise you on her bike. My DD just learned at the end of the summer my DS(6)taught her how:confused: I thought she would take forever. I think when they are ready they are ready. My DD(5 in a week) rides her bike well but still can't pump on a swing:confused3 maybe because we don't have one in the backyard and she rarely goes on one.:rolleyes1 Your DD will do fine:thumbsup2 Have fun this weekend and good luck (I'm sure you won't need it)... what fun memories:cloud9:

Anyone going to do the Alaska cruise in 09 if it works out? It would be fun to cruise 3 years with some of the same people!

Hi guys, Sorry I've been away for a week, I'm on a business trip up in Santa Cruz - its cool and rainy.

Miss Gydell, You bet we'll plan on that one in 2009! Although we will be in a new school and in Kindergarten, so we'll see what my answer is after I'm in deep with our new surroundings. But unless they are teaching brain surger that week, my plan is to go.

Karen, Yes, we will see you there on the 19th. Our neighbors and Kathy, Ted and the kids are going too.

"My DD(5 in a week) rides her bike well but still can't pump on a swing"

:lmao: :lmao: Gatorfamily, yes, it's funny what they pick up or deny with gross motor skills. DD4.5 rides with her training wheels on the two wheeler now, but wouldn't pedal the tricycle to save her life!:rolleyes1

Do you know if its for sure Alaska in 09 or a rumor? Or is it Hawaii? I would be happy with either of those. I would like to book while on our PC cruise but it might be sold out by then:confused3

No that's why I said if it works out. I would like them to holod off a couplle of years so I can save some money! 3 big cruises in 3 years plus our other vacations is going to be hard to swallow!

So no official Alaska plans, right? Whew. I was beginning to panic that I had missed something!

Happy Halloween everyone!

We've had a very hectic couple of weeks out here with several of us being evacuated from our homes, the rest of us on call to house people and pets. We've been held captive in our homes because the air quality was so smoky we couldn't go outside except to run to the car and get where we are going. Everyone seems to have a little cough going on now. We really started getting cabin fever. The damage has been horrible, but the people really came together helping each other. We went to the Halloween Party at DL 3 days before the major fires began and it was lots of fun. I think we have a way to go before it matches the level that WDW has found (although I haven't been there, just heard about it.)

Now Northern CA has had an earthquake apparently caused by Sabrina being kicked off of Dancing with the stars (Shocking :scared1: )

We are Linguine and Colette from Ratatouille for Halloween DD is HSM cheerleader. What is everyone else going to be?

Glad everyone is ok! Sorry about the earthquake. Everything happens in 3's, so what's next? Have a great Halloween!

I have been thinking about and praying for everyone in CA. Seems like it is fire and earthquake on the West coast and hurricanes and tropical storms on the East coast. Happy to hear that you are well though the last couple weeks have been challenging. Lets hope Mother Nature has it all out of her system for a long time.

Happy Halloween everyone.
