From the Med to the Panama Canal

I was glued to the internet that day watching the crossing. It was so cool and I wanted to be there so badly.

Thanks for the link.
Me too - didn't get much work done that day. I have another video that I downloaded then, but I don't have the link to where I got it.

That was so cool:cool1: I can't wait for the cruise to finally get here.
I thought I would share a link that was given to me

http://www.pancanal.com/eng/persona/k/index.html

It's a link for kids for the panama canal...how it works and things like that...it's interesting to see how it works...I guess it's not just for kids:thumbsup2

I'm glad everyone had a good weekend. I wish I was at DL but I will admit I would pass on the running;) Although, I prefer 100 to the 113 here in sunny AZ. I had to work with my DH last weekend but the upside is that working that weekend pays for this cruise :thumbsup2
It's been so busy with the kids and school...I could really really use the cruise about now. I did enjoy meeting Ibouncetoo and her DS(also going on our cruise) and can't wait to meet the rest of the DISers. Have a good weekend everyone...where did the week go:confused3

Thanks I'll bring in DD4 and run it later today. We are off to DL this morning for a couple of hours. It is the time of year when the weather is nice and the crowds are light, just before our lecture season starts. Tomorrow night we are heading over to watch the dancing at the bandstand at DL. It is adorable watching all the 90 year olds who have been going their since DL opened. Then the fireworks overhead.

Yeah, we are working a lot too to pay for this trip and pay off the last one!
Have a good weekend everyone.

They still do that!!. I remember my first trip to DL (1975) watching them do that complete with a Big Band orchestra. :rockband: I love that kind of stuff. Makes me want to pop over this weekend and watch with you - too bad MI it too far to POP from.

Have a great weekend all.

Sandy

Pop on over and meet us! Yesterday was one of those perfect Disney days, no lines at all, great weather. We're heading over tonight to watch the dancing.

Well, we didn't make it over to see the dancing on Saturday - will go next weekend for my b'day! I had worked all day and was just too tired. My sister and I went to see Wicked yesterday and what a surprise that was - it was spectacular. I loved it so much that I walked out the door and got tickets for my husbands birthday.

I'm heading over this morning as the parks will be empty so I'm finally going to get on the new subs (I'm the only one in CA who hasn't been on them!) Then we're seeing Scoobypop (Chris and Rob) at the GC.

Just popping in to say hello! We are still booked and still hoping to have the financial ability once February rolls around. Kelly, cool video clip of the Magic in the PC!!! The WB TransAtlantic just wasn't the same without my EB friends, but it was fun and I'm glad I went. More later!

Hi! I was thinking about you this morning. Glad your EB cruise was good. How many of your kids will be on this cruise? When are you going down and do you know where you are staying?

Hey Gydell!
We have no idea when we're going or where we are staying. We may be in Atlanta due to a potential job by then and would just drive down the day before...too soon to know, since we just got off the ship a little over a week ago and are still readjusting. We have two rooms booked, a 9 and an 11 (just the rooms that happened to come available), and as of now are planning to take the 6 younger kids, leaving the teens to finish up HS. It's Katey's senior year and she doesn't want to miss prom, etc. Sarah has a hard time making up school work when she's gone, so she can't go. We usually stay at the Residence Inn on Marriott points. We'll see. At this point I'd sleep in my van to get on the ship!

Kelly - where are you staying the night before the cruise?

Well, we're trying to decide. We are booked at OKW, but we are considering the Beach club or AK. We saw one of the Travel shows last week and the Beach club looked really fun. Has anyone stayed there? We're not going to be frantically trying to do the parks that trip, so we want to enjoy the pool for a little bit of time. Thoughts and ideas are welcome on DVC ideas????

Never stayed at either - we tend to stay at WL or Contemporary when we go down.

Giant vote for Beach Club:banana:
1. The pools are wonderful: big, fun, great themes. I love Beach Club just for the pools alone.
2. It is close to everything. Easy walk to Epcot - go just to see Illuminations each night:wizard: , long walk to MGM or fun shuttle boat ride. Easy (and plentiful) bus access to everywhere else.
3. Beaches and Cream ....
4. Lots and lots of restaurant choices all within an easy walk at either Boardwalk or Epcot.
5. Fun theming - AK actually probably wins this category though. The theming there is wonderful, but location is so far away from everything.

Of course remember I am the one that paid way too much to stay here for our 3/4 Wonder trip in March. (3/4 Wonder trip for two people was +2X the cost of the transatlantic for 4:scared1: ) I love Beach Club though.

Howdy all,

Regrets that I'm slow to post, but I have a challenging time prying the notebook away from DW. She seems to spend an inordinate amount of time on the disboards.:surfweb:

My long list of projects are getting done, but slower than needed. And the adoption is progressing well. Delivery date is still being adjudicated :) but is looming nearer. All reports are that of a healthy baby boy.pirate:

If you're looking to use DVC prior to the cruise, DW informs me from the DVC boards that DVC bookings are becoming extremely competitive. She tells me BCV is all but an impossibility unless you're owners there and book what you need 11mo, 0d, 0h, 0m and 1s prior to your need date. Yikes, I'm glad she manages the DVC and not me.:scared1:

Hope all are well and look forward to seeing all aboard ship.

Mouse Poor,

Congrats on the future adoption. If you remember,we are adoptive parents to two of ours. Wouldn't trade the experience for anything! I just can't imagine my family without them. Happy parenting!

Hi guys, well it’s been a busy couple of weeks here, we began all of our new and updated lectures (one about all the pop culture/tabloid girls getting in trouble with DUI.) Saturday we went to see Ave. Q – what a riot that was – man did we laugh! Then we went straight to Steakhouse 55 (formerly Granvilles) at the DL hotel for a huge meal. Then we strolled into the park to sit at the bandstand (Carnation) to watch the big band/swing dancers and fireworks.

Scott, went to Disney outlet on Sunday and they won’t have the marathon t-shirts for another month or two. So, I’ll keep looking.

I envy your proxomity to Disney, Kelly. It would be so nice to just wander in instead of planning a major troop movement, as I do.
