CanadianWDWfan - we were at the Prime Character outlet store last weekend (in Orlando) and they had lots of DCL stuff. We were at the St. Augustine store a few weeks ago and they had some but not as much as the Orlando store. They had a lot more clothing at the Orlando store - some cute Castaway Cay t-shirts. We didn't make it to the Premium outlet in Orlando, but they usually have some too.

Have a great last summer vaction day today Memom!

P.S. I have that same puzzle, it may be time for me to take off the shrink wrap :0)

********************************

We hope you all have a beautiful day wherever you are. This is truly my last day of official summer vacation, not including the weekend. Meetings start Monday. Some of you started those this week, I know.

'Our' little DIS kid, Hollie, starts school this morning.
We all know she will love school, make so many friends, and have such great times!

DIS babies are growing and reaching new milestones all over this country and across the ocean. DIS kids are enjoying the last waterslides and popsicles of the summer. DIS friends are going to work in different jobs all over the world. It's nice to be able to come together here and share our ups and downs, aches and pains, celebrations, trials, ideas, worries, successes, and our love for Disney things.

Have a good day, friends! :eeyore:

Awwww, that was sweet of you MeMom! Hollie did very good! She was actually telling us how she would remember to get to her class. She said, "First we go in the front door. Walk a little then take a left. Then we walk a little then take a right. Then we go to my class!"
Of course, I shed some tears and took some pictures. I think she was over the camera by the time we had her posing in front of her classroom door! :lmao:

I hope you have a wonderful day today! We caught some of those storms last night and they were awful!

Enjoy your last day of summer. I have my school lists going, my room is in progress and well school is on the brain. I have two weeks left till our workday and Hannah's first day of 1st grade. I think her first grade is harder for me than me going back to work, not sure how she could be that old!

MeMom-I was wondering if you noticed that puzzle in any shops on your recent trip. I LOVE jigsaw puzzles and I had hoped to find one on our last trip, but I didn't find any. We are headed back in October, so I am on the hunt again! That one is perfect since it shows all of the parks.

Love the puzzle! Great idea for a relaxing afternoon. Before we know it your girls will be able to put that together! I hope your last day of summer vacation is a nice one. :goodvibes I think the kids around here go back after Labor Day, but I know they don't get out until late June! They have really long spring and winter vacations though - which is nice. There are so many people from all over the world in New York City, that this gives the families opportunities to travel back to their "homeland" for the holidays.

There's a whole story about the Prince's Carrousel.

I agree with Stitch. They can keep Stitch, but just make it Disney quality. :)

I had no idea about the Prince! I'm completely out of touch with the Princesses. I wonder why...;)

I agree with Stitch. I like Stitch, he's cute (I think Henry is gonna LOVE him when he sees that movie eventually!), but the ride...:sad2:

MeMom that is a great puzzle. I love jigsaw puzzles too, I will have to see what I can find while I am there.

Thanks for stopping by my ptr.:flower3:

Great puzzle, MeMom! I am already missing my laid-back relaxing days! As you know, we had Open House last night! I am finding it hard to believe that Connor is a fifth grader this year (last year of elementary school), and Chelsea is an eighth grader (last year of middle school)! When did my babies start growing up so fast??? Have a great Friday!

Just enjoy it while it lasts, as I know you do, but don't worry about them growing up. Big kids are lots of fun, too! :goodvibes

Morning! I'm up extra early ...... maybe even before MeMom!

There has been a change in the plans .... only 6 more sleeps til we leave!!!

Last night we decided to leave on Thursday instead.
I will take off from work early, after lunch and we will drive about 6 1/2 hrs.
It made more sense to do it this way because I know I wouldn't have gotten to bed early (too excitted) and the 4am wake up would have been brutal.
So now I can sleep until about 6am on Friday and then drive a bit farther that day......putting us closer to Florida.

The Plan :

Sat. August 14 - Get up and drive to Florida Welcome Center and enjoy a sample of the best juice ever! as we gather up some broshures.
Make a pit stop at the Disney Outlet in St. Augustine (to check out DCL stuff) :woohoo:
Once we arrive to Orlando we will detour down International Drive. Visit Character Outlet, largest McDonald's and WalMart.
We are staying the first night in Kissimee.
Our plan is to spend the evening at DTD.
Dinner @ Earl of Sandwich.
Then shopping! We need to pick up Lexi's Mr. Potato Head and she will make a Sabertooth Tiger at Build a Dino. (I hope I can snag one of those merchandise coupons)

Sun. August 15 - Check in to POP very early so we can make Rope Drop at HS! Toy Story Mania here we come!
Lunch @ Sci Fi
Dinner @ O'Hana

Mon. August 16 - Today's park is AK.
We have an early ADR for Tusker House for Donald's Safari breakfast.
Dinner @ Rainforest Cafe.

Tues. August 17 - Today's park is Epcot.
Dinner @ Le Cellier.

Wed. August 18 - Today's park is MK .... finally!
Dinner @ Kona

Thurs. August 19 - Today's park is Epcot.
Dinner @ Teppan Edo

Fri. August 20 - Today's park is MK.
Dinner @ Chef Mickey's

Sat. August 21 - Today's park is MK.
Dinner @ Crystal Palace

Sun. August 22 - Today's park is HS.
Dinner @ 1900 Park Fare

Mon. August 23 -Check out :sad2:
Breakfast @ Cape May Cafe
Spend some time in AK before hitting the road.

Tues. August 24 - Home

Wed. August 25 - Rest, laundry and groceries today.....yippee!

I shortened the trip by a few days and decided to drop the Park Hoppers. The only ADR's I cancelled were Whispering Canyon, Garden Grill and Captain's Grille.
We will have to try those another trip.

What do you think?

You must have missed my morning post.

Leaving early sounds good. :thumbsup2

When you are at Animal Kingdom having breakfast, I will be starting the first full day with kids. I'll have to put some Donald in my day, just to be with you in spirit! :donald:

I think all of your eating sounds great - all awesome places! :woohoo:
You are going to have a fabulous time, and I am going to pray for a magical situation where time goes really fast for me that first school week, but really slow for you down there! :wizard:

Sorry to hear that it is your last official day of vacation. That is usually a bummer!

Enjoy your last days of carefree living before going back to the grind.

I woke up to more rain, but it has stopped now. I might or might not get out today. I really need to just wait until I get my room money, but I want some more animals for Rafiki's place. I've been doing some on-line window shopping. No purchases. Strictly looking.

Wigd had pictures of some great Castaway Cay t-shirts. I'll have to check out the outlets sometime. Is it okay to get one without really having been there? ;)

Yeah, do the puzzle. It was pretty enjoyable, and not hard at all, obviously, with so much detail.

Awwww, that was sweet of you MeMom! Hollie did very good! She was actually telling us how she would remember to get to her class. She said, "First we go in the front door. Walk a little then take a left. Then we walk a little then take a right. Then we go to my class!"

I'm sure she will have many stories to tell this evening. :cutie:

Thanks the the great way to start the day, MeMom! Have a fabulous day!!!

Glad to be of service this morning. :)

The next few years will be filled with school carnivals, field trips, sleepovers , and all kinds of fun projects. I hope she gets an excellent teacher and has an incredible first grade year! :lovestruc.

I didn't pay much attention to puzzles this summer, since I had some at home that I had not yet done. There might be some in my merchandise pictures, though, so just keep your eyes open as you are cyber-shopping throughout the report. I'll take a picture of the others that I have.

I agree with Stitch. I like Stitch, he's cute (I think Henry is gonna LOVE him when he sees that movie eventually!), but the ride...

It will be fun when the girls are able to do the challenging puzzles. It'll be a fun 'hanging out with MeMom' activity.

You better get in touch with your Princesses. You may have a red-haired little girl someday! :)

I just love the Disney puzzle you put together. You should totally frame it and hang it on your wall!

Then I would have to buy another one just like it to do with the girls in the years to come. Maybe when they do it with me someday, then it'll be more special to frame it.

MeMom that is a great puzzle. I love jigsaw puzzles too, I will have to see what I can find while I am there.

Thanks for stopping by my ptr.

You'll have two weeks to look for puzzles! :yay:
And eat good food. :thumbsup2
And ride rides. :cool1:
And see shows. :goodvibes
And relax by the pool. :hippie:

TWO WEEKS! :woohoo:

*******************************

While we are waiting for more trip pictures (and thanks for your patience, because this has been an extremely long and busy week for Jill) we will start our Disney Alphabet Game. Just get a pencil and paper, or a Kooky pen, if you have one, and write down your guesses. Some are easier than others, and some I gave more than just the first letter, to help you out.

Some letters have more than one picture.
You don't need to answer here. Just keep your own list, and when we make it to Z, you can see how you did. :teacher:

Hope you enjoy!

Jill, while I am thinking of it, when you get the time, go through and see if you see an L picture. I may be overlooking it.
You might even end up seeing other ones to add to that folder, as well. I thought I covered every letter, but since I sort of thought about it off and on during the trip, I may have missed at least one. Double check me, when you have the time.

Great job on the puzzle. I have to admit, I'm not good at puzzles for some reason. May be a patience thing:rotfl2:. Abby loves them, though, and I much prefer her to work on puzzles.

I understand about not meeting up last weekend. We look forward to the next one. I'm hoping Opry Mills opens up by Christmas. Anytime your girls (big and small) are in town and you have some free time, maybe we can sneak a quick meet in. Best of luck with the beginning of the school year. Your kids are lucky to be getting your as a teacher. Abby starts a week from Monday, as does Ellie going to daycare. My heart is aching about it, but I know she will be in good hands.

Then I would have to buy another one just like it to do with the girls in the years to come. Maybe when they do it with me someday, then it'll be more special to frame it.
That is so true! That would really be something special to frame, something you did together. What a wonderful grandmother you are!

Hope your enjoying your last day of summer vacation Memom

 the puzzle soo pretty !

Can't wait for more of the alphabet game , your stumping me already lol

No L?!

:sad1:

I'll have to check out the outlets sometime. Is it okay to get one without really having been there?

You should most definately check out the outlets - they have awesome deals!! A lot of times I see things in the outlet that are still being sold in the parks. I got a couple of cute Jim Shore pieces for about half the price they are at Disney!

I like to buy cloths that remind me of places I've seen. It does seem kindof like cheating if you buy them at an outlet store when you've never been ;) We went on a cruise many years ago (20+) and I think it was Carnival, not sure. Anyway, there were Disney characters on the ship and they would come around while you were eating (this was before Disney had their own ships). They also took us to a private island off Nassau. I've always wondered if it was the island that eventually became Castaway Cay. That would be neat! The only thing I remember about it is that they told us it was where Gilligan's Island was filmed.:lmao:
I still have a picture somewhere of me with Pluto, on the ship :goodvibes
Sorry to ramble....

The completed Disney puzzle looks great. I haven't worked on a puzzle in a while.

I like the alphabet game! Can't wait for more!
