I felt so sorry for Bella. She did not know what was going to happen. It cracks me up that she was okay after several Mickey stickers and goldfish. They are magic sometimes. When Blake gets his hair cut, he constantly wants to find me, so I have to stand where he can see me. He is much less cooperative than Cooper. Loved Brooklyn's hair!

Those pins are great! Wow, the one of the ride tickets took me way back to my first couple of visits when I was a child - I have some foggy memories of scrambling around for them while getting on the rides. For some reason I have some memory of being on the carrousel and my mom and I having some discussion about the tickets, maybe we wanted to go again?? Very foggy. 1978! I was four. :cutie:

I really like the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. We've always had great character interaction there. I agree about Mary Poppins though, the one we've had has been more Mary Poppin-ish. And, I agree with you, MeMom, the bread pudding is my favorite thing there, too!! YUM! The dinner is good, too. And fun...even more fun, I would imagine, with the Wigd bunch! That video is hilarious!! :rotfl:

I know what you mean about the GF doesn't feel "homey" but I just love being there. :cloud9: We usually spend some time there on our trips and would you believe I've never noticed the floor? Well, not the parts you took pictures of - it's beautiful!! I guess I'm too busy taking pictures of the ceiling and light fixtures and beautiful flowers! I have lots of pics of those. :)

These sweet girls are simply too cute!!! Brooklynn looks like such a big girl, hmmmm I'm noticing that more and more in these pictures. :upsidedow

They remind me so much of my girls and these pics reminded me of Nerea's first haircut, which was last summer. They did not do a good job...at all, but we did if for the experience, not the mad barber skills. (Hope you don't mind me sharing.) :)

What a nice big girl breakfast at Park Fare. Little ones who become big sisters or brothers love it when they get special attention. The food looked pretty good to me.

Poor Bella! I love all the stickers stuck all over her. You can never have too many stickers.

Brooklynn's do looks great. We did this for Danielle when she was 6. She loved all the attention she got that day. We keep saying we're going to go back but haven't yet. It took days to get the pixie dust out but it was worth it. Did Brooklynn get a Mickey in her hair too?

Hey Brooklyn, that is a cool hairstyle you got there!!!!!! :goodvibes

Aww, poor Bella as not too happy at first was she! I can't say I don't blame her! lol! '
But, she looks adorable in her mickey ears!

All caught up! Saw something about a brownie, pudding cool whip dessert? is there a recipe for this? sounds awesome!

I have made this trifle twice in the last month and it has been a huge hit with my family. My dad in particular likes it. I added 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract to the pudding mixture and I used a crushed Heath bar instead of plain chocolate on top.

Great pics of the girls. Brooklynn is getting so grownie(not a real word) and prettier everyday. Sweet little Bella, what can I say? She is soooo cute and tiny. Ty has had 6 hair cuts so far and still throws a fit. Goldfish or stickers or spinny things won't even help(maybe a cell phone, he loves them). He just doesn't want to sit still long enough!. I tell you it will take all 6 of the adults going in October to keep up with him!
And if anyone is flying of out Memphis International on Oct 2 on our flight I want to apologize in advance. I placed family all around us so no innocent fellow traverlers get kicked, jumped on or hit with a flying object.lol Really he is a little doll and really can be sweet (as long as everything is going his way).
I am really starting to worry about the flight down and back. I hope in the next 2 months he calms down some. He will be almost 18 months old then.
Eveyone pray for us!

Great updates. The GF looks really beautiful but just not my cup of tea. Though i bet I could enjoy some good tea there.:) Hope your legs are feeling better.

It will be fun having them both together.

::yes:: They're so cute together. We got to have our cookout on Saturday, and the two of them were hilarious. They're much more active when they're together. At one point I was out on the back porch watching both of them for a little bit and I was exhausted after :lmao: I had to make sure they didn't get into anything or fall off the steps, etc. Kazin tried to pick up a slug and Caleb kept picking stuff up and trying to put it in his mouth. Boys   My uncle brought Kazin outside when he walked us out and I said "Bye Kazin!" from the car and he waved and said "bye bye!" :lovestruc We had a great time, but unfortunately Josh had to work. It was sad saying bye to Jeremy, Leslie, and Caleb, but I do know that I'll be seeing them(or at least Jeremy and Caleb. Leslie probably won't be able to come) in a few weeks when we go to Vermont :goodvibes

I see my table! We were at that little table for two right next to the horse on the left.

Jill and Lady Lallie, I agree. I'm not so sure about that Mary Poppins  We had a different one. She was so sweet! There are a couple pictures here. http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=36856966&postcount=104

Oh my gosh, those are just the sweetest pics of Bella getting her hair cut! She really was upset, wasn't she? I'm glad she eventually was OK. Brooklynn's "updo" looks great! :thumbsup2

Luckily, her upset state only lasted a minute. :)

Good Morning!! Lovely pictures to start off my Sunday morning.

I adore Mary Poppins, but that new Mary Poppins that has been around (we had in her January) there is something about her smile that makes her look very un-Mary Poppin-ish.

Yes, I like to create my own words. :rotfl2:

I think her smile is just a bit too big for Mary Poppins.

Ah, poor Bella not wanting her hair cut! I love Brooklyn's pixie dust updo! Too cute!

Last year, they put goo in Brooklynn's hair, and it was so thick and such a mess. This year, they just did the sprinkles, per Jill's request, and that was much better.

Cute pics in the barber shop!

Brooklynn is so sparkly and pretty with her new fancy hairdo!

She did a great job of sitting there and showing Bella it wasn't that bad.

Awww poor Bella, she didn't like the mean ol' scissor lady. I think she just wanted to keep all of her golden locks to herself.

I didn't know goldfish were magical ... i'll try it on Lexi when she has a meltdown in WDW.... probably because of the HEAT! :rotfl:

Bella is adorable in her Mickey ears! Very cute pic!

Did she get to keep the "first haircut" ears?

I don't know how old kids are when goldfish stop working. You can try them on Lexi and see, but she may require something more exciting than tiny crackers. She may need a Mickey bar or a funnel cake or a Dole whip or something.

Why yes, yes I can and it's :scared1: I think they would have a blast and I'm sad that Baylor is not coming on their Christmas trip.

Sweet Bella didn't want that nice lady to cut her hair! I had to hold Ben down for his first cut.

I love Brooklyn's hair! Ellie had originally want to get that sparkly stuff but decided on the hair wrap instead.

Brooklynn would enjoy a wrap, too, I know. She likes anything that allows her to primp and look pretty.

I had that as our first ARD but a request for the "place with all the meat" came up and I was able to score O'hana early for that first night so I moved 1900 Park Fare to later in the week. I am kind of glad, so maybe he will loosen up and silly up and be game to playing around a bit with the steps and not horrified that Prince Charming and Cindy are around.

I know what you mean. I don't think what you learned is not gone, just filed away.

Work is so crazy I do that often. I joke that between my ADD and Alheimers I am lucky I can remember my name. I cannot walk from point A to Point B with out being asked a million things and then I forget why I am going to point B. 31 more day until school starts for us and it will slow down for us a bit.

The back of Pooh and Brooklyn looking at him is sad. I am glad Pooh came back for a proper visit.

I often have to go back to my starting point to remember what I was after at my ending point. ::yes::

I totally agree. I thought the exact same thing.

She looks okay until she smiles. She just has a very big smile, don't you think?

Pretty sure they did, but I'm also pretty sure Katie and I were way too busy talking to really take notice When we were walking down one street, we passed a hot dog place and Katie said it smelled like Casey's. I called up to Charles and told him Katie pointed out that it smelled like a hot dog place on Main Street in Magic Kingdom. He said, "no, it smells like hot dogs." I said, "no, it smells like Casey's." I think he shook his head at that point.

I'm glad Bella didn't seem to be upset for too long and I love Brooklynn's hair with all the pixie dust! Very very cute!

I know you guys had a fun day, and even though the guys make fun of the Disney things you say and do, you know they have come to expect it and would probably be disappointed if you didn't say things like that. I think our guys expect it so much that if we don't say something, they do!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. After I posted that I felt mean.

It's not mean. She would probably be okay if she could smile a little 'smaller', if that makes sense.

Very cute and that is a whole lot of stickers!

And she didn't care to have that many, either. She started pulling them off!

Aww, Bella looks so cute in her First Haircut ears! I'd say she did pretty good. Those first haircuts are a little scary.

She did do pretty well. It was a short ordeal, and she only had a minute of tears.

Well we three can feel "mean" -- actually at 1900 we had the other, more Mary Poppins-ish, Mary Poppins -- BUT we saw this other Mary Poppin in Epcot.. it definitely crossed my mind as well

HOWEVER, I have to say the character interaction we had at 1900 Park Fare was great. Alice easily spent several minutes, more than I would have expected with my son, chatting chatting chatting. And she was playing with my other little guy, who was under the table. She called him the "doormouse" -- it was delightful. And we definitely had the strawberry soup at breakfast b/c I know that WigD was raving about it -- they also have eggs benedict, which is why I liked the selections, and DH was pleased with the omlette stand... I have to say I like going back and forth between CP and 1900... I found both equally nice, and maybe the face CMs were better for my guys, they actually could talk to them... I do think the set up in CP is nicer, more "open" and light. There are things to like about both IMO.

I would consider trying 1900 for dinner now ... but not sure that would go over well.... I was trying to get everyone to go to Ariel's grotto for dinner in Disneyland (but the boys all veto-ed it! -- too many princesses they screamed... )

Alie was the best character with Brooklynn, too.

Such delightful pictures of the girls! And I love how the number of stickers grew as the hair cut progressed! AND YAY for magic gold fish -- they do cure everything!!

Such a fun hair-do! I will have to see if my guys would ever go for that!

Neat keepsake with the hat!

GREAT shopping pics -- all the pins!

They might go for just a regular Disney haircut sometime. :thumbsup2

Oh my that barber shop can be such a traumatic place for the little ones! Glad those tears didn't last long for sweet Bella!
First haircut ears are the best!

It was quick and relatively pain-free for her. ;)

How nice of Bella to wait long enough to have her photo taken. She looks so sweet with all those stickers. And Brooklyn looks beautiful as always! The barbershop looks like fun!! Can't wait to hear about your DIS meet!

She allowed the hat to be on for a fews seconds.

It is fun to go to the barbershop. Even if they don't really need a haircut, it's still awesome to say they had the first one in Magic Kingdom. :goodvibes

awww....poor sweet baby!

great picture!

your hair looks so pretty, brooklynn!

i really hope seth has enough hair to cut when we go in october 2011. i'd love for his first haircut to be there!

Even if he doesn't, you can go have a sprig or two cut off and let them comb it around some, just so he can have his first haircut ears.

we are home! It was a great trip! Caleb had soo much fun playing with his cousins this week! He will miss them this week since my SIL family and my inlaws are staying for another week (MIL watches Caleb so he has to go to a new babysitter for 3 days next week and then my parents are watching him the last two days--so he is used to seeing all of them usually during a regualar week! he is going to be confused on monday when he does not see nana! LOL!

All caught up! Saw something about a brownie, pudding cool whip dessert? is there a recipe for this? sounds awesome!

It's just all that stuff layered. Someone put the recipe up. Try that one. It's good stuff!

Brooklynn's hair is adorable!
Poor Bella. I'm glad she made it through her haircut. Thank goodness for magic goldfish

Brooklynn was pleased with her hair. When it was taken down, however, Jill discovered that it was not cut straight in the back, so she had to go back for a touch-up.

Loved the first haircut pictures. The CM that cut Bella's hair is the same one that gave Natalie and Kate their first haircuts back in December. Glad Bella let you snap a picture before taking off her ears - Natalie and Kate wouldn't even let us put theirs on!

It's a cute little event for the grow-ups to have this done. The kids are not always as excited.

Whew all caught up. I have been MIA for a few weeks.

Love the beautiful pics of GF & those pretty flowers.

Looks like you had a nice breakfast at 1900 PF. I agree with LL. That Mary Poppins looks a little strange.

Love the pics of the girls getting their hair cut. Aw sweet Bella looking not so happy. Glad she posed & kept the ears on so you could get her pic.

Glad to see Trent with the girls.

Glad to have you back around.

It did feel good to have Trent around the girls again. They miss each other. He texted me one day this week while I was at camp with a random 'I miss everybody!' message.

The haircut pictures are so cute.

We have cute memories of that morning. :lovestruc

Enjoyed Bella's haircut pictures
We did this with our eldest DD at just 13 months and they did such a good job of cutting such a small amount of hair - I figure they have plenty of practice cutting the hair of little ones like ours who have a chance to earn their special set of ears, but who wouldn't have had their hair cut that soon in the 'real' world!
We're hoping to go again on our Sept trip with youngest DD who will be just a little bit older, at 14 months

Yeah, Bella just had a little hair in the back to cut, but the ears and the experience are worth doing it.

Love Brooklyn's hairdo, lost of pixie dust is always a good thing
Aww poor Bella! She did not look thrilled with the Mickey ears on her head but at least she let you take a picture

Brooklynn spread a little pixie dust wherever she walked for the next few hours.

She actually started crying whe the stickers were being put on her. She didn't like all those stickers, for some reason. :upsidedow

Those pins are great! Wow, the one of the ride tickets took me way back to my first couple of visits when I was a child - I have some foggy memories of scrambling around for them while getting on the rides. I have foggy memories of my first trip, and I was a teenager!

The bread pudding at Park Fare was my favorite thing. Very good.

Brooklynn does look like such a big girl these days, doesn't she. Probably has a lot to do with the huge growth spurt she is in. Jill says she is outgrowing everything she buys her!

That's pretty much how your girls were the night we met - one reserved and one ready to party!

What a nice big girl breakfast at Park Fare. Little ones who become big sisters or brothers love it when they get special attention. The food looked pretty good to me.

No Mickey. We didn't do any goo this time. Last time, it was thick yucky mess, so she didn't have that part done this time.

I agree - big brothers and sisters need special attention. They don't understand why all of the sudden everyone on the street is oohing and aahing over the little one. I am glad we had that morning just for her. There were also a couple of times when she went with Jill and John and I took Bella, so she was able to be an only child again for a while.

Hey Brooklyn, that is a cool hairstyle you got there!!!!!!

Aww, poor Bella as not too happy at first was she! I can't say I don't blame her! lol! '
But, she looks adorable in her mickey ears!

As you can see by the time on the pictures, at least her 'misery' didn't last too long!

I hope the flight will go well for all of you. He sounds like an active little guy! :goodvibes

Great updates. The GF looks really beautiful but just not my cup of tea. Though i bet I could enjoy some good tea there. Hope your legs are feeling better.

I enjoy visiting there, and I'd like to stay a night or two maybe, but I feel much more at home at a lot of other places.

My legs do feel better this morning. I could tell a big difference in the pain level when I first stood up.

They're so cute together. We got to have our cookout on Saturday, and the two of them were hilarious. They're much more active when they're together. At one point I was out on the back porch watching both of them for a little bit and I was exhausted after I had to make sure they didn't get into anything or fall off the steps, etc. Kazin tried to pick up a slug and Caleb kept picking stuff up and trying to put it in his mouth. I'm glad you got to have more family time. :)

Our preacher's wife has family in Vermont, and they go there to visit about once a year. He always talks about how beautiful it is there.

It's fun to see your resort room or your table at a restaurant in other people's pictures! :cool1:

IMG_2793.jpg

To say they didn't do a good job on Brooklynn's hair is an understatement. Later when she woke up from her nap and the ponytail had come out there were like 18 different levels of cut. I swear it looked like she had done it herself. I really wish I would have taken a picture of it but I was in such shock and trying to get back to MK so they could fix it that I didn't take the time.

Even if he doesn't, you can go have a sprig or two cut off and let them comb it around some, just so he can have his first haircut ears.

You see how much hair my girls' have had. They give you the few little sprigs in a paper towel with Mickey confetti in it. Makes an excellent keepsake!

Brooklynn was pleased with her hair. When it was taken down, however, Jill discovered that it was not cut straight in the back, so she had to go back for a touch-up.

Not straight is an understatement. Jagged cuts everywhere at different levels is more like it. Even Trent noticed how jacked up it was later. She got about another inch cutoff by the time it was all straightened out.

Oh yum - those Mickey Waffles are making my mouth water. I love how in each picture the waffles is standing in the bowl of syrup. That is a great way to do it. I always smother Abby's pancakes and such with syrup and it turns into a soggy mess.

We still haven't done the barber shop. Every time we try to hit it, there is a long line. What is your tip of when to get to it?

Wigd - that video proposal was priceless.

Great updates. We really enjoyed 1900 PF. My daughter loves Alice in Wonderland, so she was pleased. Our food was great. I also love Crystal Palace for breakfast. My husband likes CP better because they have donut holes.

I can't believe that messed Brooklynn's hair up so much. I wonder if that happens a lot.

Glad I didn't have to much to catch up on after our week vacation back home !

Sounds like you had a really nice week w/ the camp kids & you fed them very well :)

Cute pic's of Brooklyn on the carousel

 the window decorations

Sweet pictures of Trent w/ everyone , you must miss him like crazy ! I know we miss our family bunches living 8 hours away from everyone but we have to where the Marines Corps send us .

Love the GF floor pictures , never noticed the beautiful details before

Nice 1900 Park Fare pictures , have to agree w/ you the breakfast is just so so there . We did breakfast back in 08 and will never do it again , we were basically ignored by the characters and our server for the whole meal , didn't even get any pic's !

 the 71 pin did they have one for each year ?

Bella's first haircut ears are adorable , wish I would have had the kids first haircuts done there !

I forgot to mention this before, but we found out that Jeremy, Leslie, and Caleb are probably moving back down here next year :yay:

I love Vermont. It really is beautiful.

Hopefully you don't mind me hijacking the report to share a few pictures :upsidedow

This is the lake across from the cabins. Most of the inflatible stuff belongs to the people who own the property. They leave them out for everyone. I swear that big raft in the water tried to kill me. It has a little rope ladder on the side and it took me about an hour to climb it. It was hard to get my feet on the ladder because that part was under water so I had to use just my arms. Most people would've given up trying to get on it after falling into the water a million times but I just wouldn't stop :rotfl: I made it up eventually.

t9frcp.jpg

Another view of the lake and the mountains.

This is the cabin we rent. It's literally right across the street from the lake. I think I took this in the same spot as the first lake picture.

Some of the other cabins. My grandma stays in the one with the chimney.

Vermont landscape. I took this from the car, which explains the bottom left corner

Looking at those pictures made me excited :) I'll be there in 20 days! Sadly, two days after I get back I have to go back to school :scared1: We used to go the first two weeks in August but now we have to go the last two because it's the only time we can get two cabins. Oh well. I still have 5 weeks of summer vacation left :thumbsup2

Wigd - that video proposal was priceless.

Yes, she likes to dip things.

We got lucky that time. When we went in, there was no one there, but right after they started on the girls, several people came in. I'd say get there at opening or really close to it, and you won't have to wait.

We will definitely be doing a Crystal Palace breakfast. We love the dinners there.

I didn't see it, so I wish Jill would have taken a picture. She said she just didn't think of it, because she was in such shock at how horrible it was.

Love the updates and all of the pictures! Too bad that Brooklyn's haircut had to be redone. Glad they could get it fixed, though.

Even Trent commented on how bad it was cut, so I know it wasn't just Jill being particular. They were happy to fix it, though, she said. I wasn't with them when she went back.

Glad I didn't have to much to catch up on after our week vacation back home !

We did have a fun week at camp. I can finally feel my legs again today! :yay:

71 is just special for the year the park opened.

We do miss Trent. The weekend of Brooklynn's party, everyone is coming back up here afterward to hang out for the rest of the weekend, so it will be like good old times again. I look forward to having all three of my kids under one roof. You better believe my camera will be in action that weekend beteeen the party and the gang being up here. I will have pictures to look at when the house is quiet again.

***********************************

After the haircuts, we went around the corner to The Emporium, where we would be meeting momof2TNboys and her group.

I was holding Bella, but I set her down on the counter for a minute.

Summer2010PoptotheTop231.jpg

She had her check up today, by the way. Jill was wanting her to be twenty pounds so that she could turn her carseat around. Anyone want to guess what she weighed and if she's now a happy forward-facing baby?

Our DIS friends arrived, and we talked for a few minutes. Again, just as always, it was easy to talk with people face to face that we already 'knew' from here.

That's Cara in the hat and her two nephews by the door.

Summer2010PoptotheTop234.jpg

Brooklynn quickly befriended her son, and they checked out lollipops together.

Summer2010PoptotheTop232.jpg

Then there was the obligatory group picture.

It was a pleasure to meet this nice family. :)

After we parted ways, we walked toward the back of The Emporium to go toward the Frontierland/Adventureland side of the park.

I thought of Jackie when I saw this.

Too bad they weren't the free kind. I think they were about five bucks.

Pretty umbrellas. (Trent used to call it a lumberry when he was little.)

We didn't stand in line for Donald, but I was able to catch him somewhat alone.

Brooklynn doesn't understand why Tiana does not do her show on this boat any more. We need to let her ride on this next time. She would enjoy that.

I don't remember if we went back to get Fastpasses or just checked times on something or what, but it appears that we turned around and went the other way. I think maybe we decided we were going to go over to Toontown. I guess we'll see. ;)

We walked back through Fantasyland. One member of our group decided to stand up on a bench and hold the camera up high over the fence to see what was happening on the other side.

One day, we will all walk around back there in the new Fantasyland! :dance3:

Beautiful!

My time is winding down. I need to go work in my room two days this week, but at least I am still flexible. I won't complain, though, because I know most jobs don't get nearly as much time off as teachers do.

If any of you guys go into a Disney Store soon, will you look for a Rafiki plush doll for me? I am thinking of doing a Rafiki's Planet Watch bulletin board and featuring a different animal periodically. I might just try to find a Lion King book and cut one out, but a 'real' one would be cooler, if it is not too expensive.

Brooklynn spread a little pixie dust wherever she walked for the next few hours.

She actually started crying whe the stickers were being put on her. She didn't like all those stickers, for some reason. :upsidedow

Flashback from the surgery maybe. Stickers = tape for the IV or something??

So lucky to have someone tall enough to "look " over the wall. All I got was this

and then I had some guy yell over to me " Ma'am you see nothing over that wall, nothing at all" ( yes he called me Ma'am :sad2:) :rotfl2:
