From plane to parks...fast pass reasonableness test

Thanks for the responses!

We are only in Disney for 4 full days so I was just eager to get a few extra fast passes squeezed in, I am taking my god daughter and a wee girl I teach dancing to along with her mum and my nana and the two girls are 10 and 12 and have never been to Disney before so just so eager to maximise what they see without exhausting them!

Have pushed the belle experience from half 6 to half 7,
7DMT to 7.40 to 8.40 and Space Mountain 8.45 to 9.45.

Not sure how moving through the crowds will be due to the 4th July fireworks on that evening, and we need to get back to hotel as everyone will be exhausted I'm sure! so excited though!

Tempted to push Belle to after Space Mt, or just be content that if we are running late we will miss it...

Fastpass + is so intense for undecisive's like myself!:fish:
Whoa, you are talking about JULY 4th?? You may not even get in the park, due to crowds. It will be PACKED. I'd stay at the resort for the night or go to Downtown Disney.

Hi

I honestly hadn't thought of going to Epcot or hollywood studios because i have a full day allocated to them but that does make a lot of sense

My reasoning for MK was that there are so many rides there it might let us see a bit more by using 6 fast passes...we don't have park hoppers

I am doing tax exams tomorrow but after that I am really going to have to take all comments on board and decide whether to change parks...thanks for the advice!

Just to clarify we arrive on the 3rd but there is a dress rehearsal for the 4th july fireworks that evening I believe. Thanks again
How are you going to be using 6 fastpasses?

I really think that you should look at capacity when you are making park plans. I think the only park that you can be almost sure of entry at that time is Epcot. I would not even chance MK. The travel on a good day will be cumbersome at that hour, but factoring in the Holiday, you are looking at crazy frustrating. We took a boat from Epcot to the Beach Club on the Friday night before Christmas, when Christmas fell on the following Wednesday. Holy Cow! The people who were turned away were furious, and that was not the eve of 4th of July. I know that you are looking at the Magic Kingdom as a park that you can accomplish a lot with FP, but it has it's deficits in regards to it's size. The people who want to be there vs the room it has within its gates really make a difference.

The worst thing that can happen is to have what you plan to be a magical first look at WDW turn into a beast of a night.

I think the OP is referring to being in MK on 2 different days...arrival day, then one other full day - so between the 2, they'd have 6 FP+ to use.

OP - I totally get that reasoning, and if I were you I'd probably think similarly. The main issue I see is that your arrival day is the 3rd. I don't know if the park lose to capacity on the 3rd like it does on the 4th. If it does, you may be out oflk luck. If you plan to go to MK, I would double and triple check that they haven't reached capacity before bussing over there from BC. Maybe the concierge at BC would be able to tell you? Or bookmark some websites on your phone that you can check? Does EeasyWDW post those kinds of updates?

By taking the evening and the full day at Magic kingdom

Considering not even doing a park on our arrival day now...lots of items to discuss with my travel party after the exams are over!

The travel time to get from plane to ride by 8:40 isn't highly unrealistic...you're budgeting 5 hours 10 minutes. BUT as many posters have expressed, it will be a very grueling task of doing so, especially considering the crowd levels.

MK hasn't closed on July 4th for some time now, so i don't think that'll be a huge issue BUT even near capacity that place is so tight that moving from the front to the back of the park will be very difficult. As you are staying on-site, you won't be blocked from Magic Kingdom until Phase 4 closure (there are three ahead of you)

I can understand the excitement and the wish to not waste a minute...i travel internationally a lot...but you may want to have some plans for a less stressful first day experience. But you know your family and yourself better than anyone...do what feels right for you.

If your tickets will let you without costing more I would wander over to Epcot and wander around World Showcase a little bit to catch Illuminations. We usually stay at one of the Epcot resorts and find this is the perfect way to try and conquer jet lag, keep us awake until a reasonable time and start off the holiday with fireworks without adding too much stress to the situation

I have not done it personally so hopefully others here will provide more information, but maybe you can take a taxi from the airport to BC, just drop off your luggage with the concierge, then continue on to the TTC and MK. It will mean checking in and some unpacking late that evening, but your sleep cycle and adrenaline will be all whacked out anyway! If this is an option, it still does not address the concerns others have raised with the holiday crowd at MK.
