Okay so I finally after a month have gotten my act together and have started a trip report. I guess to start off I will introduce us and tell you the story of how we met.
Our Story
O nce upon a time, in a time much like this minus 5 years (2002) a younger man (we shall Call him Chris) and skinnier woman (and her Heather) met. Both the younger man and skinnier woman had been asked by dear friends to help them relocate. Heather had known the wife for a little over a year and become close friends with her, and Chris had grown up with husband and had remained friends through the years even though they lived 163 miles apart. This couple had asked several people for help and had been told by many “we will be there”, however when the day arrived no one showed up except for Heather and Chris.
Heather and Chris both seemed to have had a spark between them and from there the relationship began.
We shall now jump forward 1yr (2003) almost to the day that Heather and Chris met. Chris lived on one side of Georgia and Heather on the other it was a struggle but they survived. Heather had decided the commute to see Chris, was getting to be too much so she packed her car and moved to Augusta to be with him. Heather moved in and they decided before she started working again they would take a quick vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC to celebrate their 1 year anniversary.
Lots had been planned for this quick vacation including a nice dinner at Medieval Times. Apparently Chris had a few plans of his own.
They stayed in a small hotel right across the road from the beach and they both looked forward to taking a nice romantic stroll. But the weather thought otherwise it rained non stop the whole trip. While it put a damper on Chris’s plans Heather wouldn’t let it ruin a nice getaway, besides they still had dinner reservations at Medieval Times.
The night of the reservations had arrived and they couldn’t wait to see the show. After being seated Chris told Heather he had a surprise and wanted to know if she wanted it, without hesitation she said yes. (Who doesn’t like a surprise?) Chris asked her to close her eyes and placed a beautiful sapphire ring in front of her. “Okay open your eyes” he said. Heather opened her eyes looked at the ring and then at him and said “Thank you baby”. It was after all their one year anniversary and she didn’t want to jump the gun and say yes without knowing what it was. Chris looked at her with a puzzled look and said that’s it just “thank you?” “Will you marry me?” Heather looked up and said “sure.” That’s right folks no tears, screaming, or jumping up and down he just got sure. They looked at each other and kissed. Needless to say Chris was quite disappointed with this reaction. In Heathers defense she was a bit surprised. Once they arrived back home they let everyone know the good news.
Once again let’s jump forward this time to 2005. Heather has now lived in Augusta for almost 2 years and isn’t making enough money to pay the bills. She informs Chris she needs to move back home making this a long distance relationship once again. Heather finds another job fairly fast and is able to get back on her feet but with distance between them Heather and Chris have learned what its like to truly miss someone. After another 1.5yrs Chris decides in February of 2007 he doesn’t want to wait any longer he is ready to get married.

To be continued ........

Heather quickly got to work she had a wedding to plan. First things first they needed a date. Hmm ok they met September 28, 2002 so how about September 28, 2007. Now needed is a location. They had both thought had about it and really just wanted something small, eloping had even come up. However it wouldn’t really be fair to elope they both had family they wanted to be there so they had to find somewhere to make this dream come true. Chris new the one place that made Heather the happiest and said ‘how much does it cost to get married at Disney?” Her face lit up and she quickly went to work typing as fast as she could moments later she had the information she needed a small wedding is doable. Now where in Disney? Well it is September so it will be hot how about somewhere with air? Okay easy enough Wedding Pavilion it is, but they can’t do the 28th since it’s a Friday and that is extra so date changed to the 27th. So its set September 27th in the Wedding Pavilion, now the call just has to be made to see if that date is available and to inform the family that they are getting married.
Okay now a lot happened in the 7 months first the wedding was going to be kind of casual. Heather was going to just wear a black evening gown since she new she could wear it again. The Disboards helped sway her otherwise after reading several planning journals she ran across one that had a dress that caught her eye and even though it’s backwards quickly showed it to Chris. He loved the detailing and messaged the owner of that thread to ask her the designer. Mori Lee (thanks Shelli) ok they set off to look at the designers other gowns. While looking on the designer’s web page Heather found her dress it had the same detailing at the top as Shelli’s dress, but it had a pick up skirt which she loved. As fast as she could she sent the link to Chris he too had fallen in love with the dress. So the dress is purchase without trying it on or even seeing it. (Big scary risk if you love stress give it a go otherwise steer clear.)

Ok enough history lets get to the trip report.

girl you have guts buying a dress without even seeing it! can't wait to see pics! can't wait to hear more...

Buying a wedding dress without trying it on? Man that is brave!

Can't wait to hear the rest of this wedding story :)

We were making the drive from Augusta, GA to Orlando, FL. We got up bright and early and were out and on our way by 6am. It was still dark but the sky looked pretty clear should be an easy drive. It was up until the sun started to rise by then we were about 30 min out of Statesboro GA. Here is what it looked like then.

Not so pretty. We kept driving and finally a little before 1pm we made it to our destination Sheraton Vistana Villages. We stayed there unil our wedding night. I know its not Disney but seeing that up until our wedding night I had never in the many times of going to Disney stayed on property, and this was nice. Here let me give you a tour of the place.
Here is the Kitchen.

Loved the tub after a long day it was a great place to unwind.
and last but not least our view
l_cbc261afe1f4895a78bd263206ceb3b2.jpg

Only the view was from higher up and the camera couldnt take a picture through the screen. As you can probably see by now it is raining at least it held off until we got there.

The rest of day one we did a little exploring went over to Universal City walk and walked around and then back to the room and called it a night.

Day 2
After a excellent night of sleep we rose bright and early we were off to get our wedding license and then Universal Islands of Adventure for some relaxing.
The sun greeted us with a beautiful hello.
l_bfecfecc3f4589cba26fafdea9dce45f.jpg

We decided to get our license at the Osceola county courthouse. After a 15 minutes drive, well a little longer I missed the turn the first time around, we arrived. The parking lot was packed we drove in circles for about 30 minutes looking for a spot we finally found one. We parked and headed to find the building, found it, and headed in. About 15 minutes later we had our license and we were on our way to Universal Studios.
Finally time to relax and enjoy ourselves no worries until Wed. when all of the family comes in.
So..

After a long day it was back to the room like I said before we just wanted to relax before the family arrived.

Thank you guys sorry it took me so long cable and internet have been out for the past 6hrs.

I did buy the dress without seeing it or trying it on that made me a little nervous, however the part I left out was I was 25lbs heavier when I ordered the dress but knew I wanted to lose weight so I took a even bigger risk and orderd it a size smaller. That thankfully worked out, but I was a little scared. :scared:

Congratulations on your marriage! I agree with the others, I can't imagine buying a dress without trying it on

Enjoying your report so far, and looking forward to seeing more photos!
Thank you so much and I promise photos and lots at least until the wedding day then we slacked a lot on the honeymoon.

Congratulations on your marriage! I agree with the others, I can't imagine buying a dress without trying it on

Thank you! Honestly if someone told me that I was going to buy a dress without seeing it or trying it on a few years ago I would have laughed, but when I saw the dress I knew it was the one and I got a amazing price on it.

Again after a very nice night of sleep we arose with the sun ready to face another day. Today we were ready to conquer Universal Studios. I enter knowing that this park isn't on the top of my list, but didn't let Chris know just so my opinion wouldn't effect his thoughts about the park.
Now on to the pictures
The Universal Globe.

There are lots of picture opportunities there however after a few rides Chris lost interest and was ready to head back to IOA so off we went.
Here is another shot of the globe from the other side near IOA.

(picture was taken Sunday when we went to city walk while it was raining)
Back in Islands of Adventure we rode a few rides and once again called it a day for the parks. But this time we didn't go back to the room we decided to sneak a peak at the Wedding Pavilion. We jumped in the car and off we went only to find that the Wedding Pavilion was closed. :sad1:
But we took pictures anyways.

l_4a959b40c5cc9bcc8c6792824781c8b6.jpg

It will be OK at least we knew it wouldn't be closed on Thursday.
We then headed to the Contemporary to see if we could find the wedding snow globe. We didn't succeed we would have to continue our search later on it seemed to be that way for most of the trip the snow globe and grooms hat were very hard to find.

While at the Contemporary I decided Chris should ride the monorail. He hadn't been to the Magic Kingdom since he was young to young to remember and I wanted a little Disney magic even if I wasn't going in the park. We got on the Monorail and rode the full circle at sunset. I couldn't get a great picture of the castle but I will take what I can get so here you go.
l_e2a763fb13cc120e229cb8c1f796e8f5.jpg

After the ride it was time to go back to our room and clean up a bit before the family arrived tomorrow.
The cleaning was finished and Chris wanted to practice his glow stick poi so we went down to the water so he could practice without hitting anything or anyone.
I played with my camera again. Here is a action shot.
l_0d584c0ca56790aebb0f532626e01778.jpg

That was the end to day 3.

Ok so today all of our families comes in and we don't really have time to do anything except sit and wait. We do have dinner planned for the evening at Rainforest Cafe but have no reservations and really didn't know when the last of our family was to be there. So a little stress starts to set in. First to arrive my mom, sister, and brother inlaw. They flew in and arrived to Vistana Villages around 9:30. The rest of the family would come in a little later since they were all driving down from GA. Chris said he would stay in the room and wait if my family and I wanted to go out.
My family kept stating they were hungry so I suggested down town Disney. I have read several times on differant forums about Earl of Sandwich, so we decided to give it a try. If you haven't been there and want a great sandwich go its great. After eating we had a little more time to kill so I decided to show them the Wedding Pavilion. (Plus I still hadn't seen the inside except for pictures and they don't do it justice.) We pulled up to the Wedding Pavilion and found it was open and no wedding was taking place so we could look around. I took several pictures so I guess I will share those with you now.
This was taken from the bridge

I knew you could see the castle from the inside but I had no idea that the window worked like a magnifying glass, the further you are away from the glass the larger the castle looks. It was breathtaking I took this picture from the door.

Coming up the arrival of family and dinner....

As were finishing up I hear a fimilar voice its Eeyore (I set that as a ring tone for Chris since they have a similar outlook.) I answered my phone to find out that his Mother and best man have arrived and the room we had reserved wasn't paid for. We rushed back to the resort, got things sorted out, and everyone on their way. We pack up the stuff Chris will need the following day and take it over to his moms room. The excitement is building I can't wait in less than 24hrs I will be a wife.
About 30min later my Grandma and Aunt show up. It's about 2:30 by now we are just missing one person the father of the groom. While I am visiting with my family Chris is two buildings down with his mom, best man, and ring bearer.
Chris called me shortly before 4 to let me know his dad had made it and was at his resort. He gave me his dads cell number and asked me to go on and find out what time to meet for dinner. I called and we decided 5:30 sounded like a good time to meet. Ok so finally all the times were set now I just need to make sure we all make it there on time.
After a few more calls and goofing off we set out to meet for dinner. Since we arrived a little early we looked around at Basin. While we were in there the sky decided to open up big time and no one was in the mood to get wet so I ran to Rainforest to see about getting a reservation for 11 it would be about 20 to 30 minutes thats not such a bad wait. Everyone finally makes it over and we are seated now I have pictures of everyone so shall we take a look.
We will start with the Best Man (left) and Randy Jackson (not really Randy Jackson) oops I mean Ring Bearer. (Both guys were told they could choose who wanted to be best man and the ring bearer said he would rather not, so we found another job for him.)

We finished eating caught a boat over to Port Orleans French Quarter (where Chris and I honeymooned) so everyone could see what it looked like. Caught the boat back and called it a night.

Up next wedding day.

OK so it is finally our wedding day. :cool1: I woke up at 5:AM to start getting ready. My mom and I still had to run out to a store to grab some flowers and throw my sisters bouquet together. ( we have both done plenty of flower arrangements for friends weddings so it wouldn't be hard to put together 1). I jumped in the shower put on some clothes and out the door we went. At AM there isn't to many stores open good thing I know where Wal-Mart is. We run in Wal-Mart not good the only flowers they have are Mums, Roses, and Daisy's. OK I don't want Mums, my flowers are white Calla Lillie's the Roses are bright red or a pale pink, my colors are black navy blue and white it wouldn't go, and the daisies had all been dyed bright colors. What am I going to do its now 6:30AM and my wedding is 5.5hrs away. Its OK I have back up I know where another Wal-Mart is. To the car! We drive up I-4 toward Universal. Traffic is getting a little heavy not a good thing. We make it to the other Wal-Mart in less than 30Min run in look at the flowers there they are those will work. I had found them I was going to use white Alstroemeria.
Which looks like this.
Alstroemeria2.jpg

So now we have the flowers, grab the ribbon, and floral tape. Time to check out. Our total came to $7.46 her bouquet wasn't anything extraordinary but it would have cost a lot more money if we had paid someone to do it. We didn't take a picture of just the bouquet so I guess you will see it in the wedding pictures.
OK so we finally finished up and drove back to the resort by now it's 7:30a.m.
no biggie right I still have 4.5hrs true except I knew since I was getting married at noon everyone was going to be really hungry and had made breakfast reservations for my family that morning at 8:15. So that means we have 45min to get to breakfast. Everyone is up and ready and we are out the door by 7:50. We get to the Animal Kingdom lodge at around 8:20 and are seated within 5min. Breakfast was amazing and everyone loved it my Grandma is still talking about those eggs "the best she has had in her whole life." That says a lot my Grandma acts like a spring Chicken but her drivers license says otherwise. It was so nice to sit and relax. I love watching my family (glances at watch 9:30). Heh OK time to go have to get back to the room my hair and makeup aren't done yet wow this is so not good. We finish up, pay, rush to the car and are back to th resort about 10:10. Quickly I grab a brush and bobby pins and start putting my hair in place 10min later finished. I curled my hair and put on some makeup checked the time 10:45. Uhmm not good. (OK now I told you guys earlier about the black evening gown, what i didn't tell you is I wanted to surprise everyone with a white dress so I kept telling them I was wearing black. So I bought a black dress to fool them. Now back to the story.) I grab my black dress out of the closet and put it on and run out the door mom in tow with the excuse that Chris left his shoes and shirt in the room.
I made it to Chris's room really close to 11 he is now stressed I am 15min. late. I run to the master room where Chris slept, take of my black dress grab the gown from the closet and slip it on. It is a lace up back and I know Chris's mom and my mom are going to be to scared to actually pull it as tight as it needs to be so I call Chris in. He has me lace and my mom ties the bow and we are out the door by 11:10. It is 50min before the wedding and we are meeting the limo at Port Orleans French Quarter at 11:30. Traffic was light and we make it to the gate of POFQ right at 11:30 and tell the guard we will be checking in. "Name please?" OK I know I put the reservation under my married name so Heather D. " Hrmm Heather D............ Are you sure thats the name?" Yes unless they put it under his name Chris D. "No Chris D. either we have a Heather Edwards." Thats not me. "Let me call this in......................"

Oh Dear I was already running late now I have to wait longer will we make it to our wedding?

I then remembered I had my papers and pulled them out to show him. He looked at them and said ok they will have to sort it out go on in.
Finally no more drama. We parked the car and I scooped up my dress and went running to the limo. I apoligized profusely to the limo driver. We had twenty minutes to get there now. The good news is the Wedding Pavilion is about a ten minute drive.
On the way there I remembered I forgot something. This something to me was big. I forgot our rose and vase for the rose and vase ceremony great we already had a short ceremony the last thing we needed was the logest part missing. Now what are we going to do? Oh well I will just worry about it when we get there maybe Rev. Knox will have a quick fix.
We finally pulled up to the Wedding Pavilion and Kathleen met us at the Limo. She was so sweet. I had asked her before hand to make sure no one saw me before the wedding so when I walked down the aisle they would all be surprised but according to a few people they were peaking out the window. Oh well. :confused3
We met Rev. Knox, he was such a sweet man, and explained to him that I had left the vase and forgot to buy the rose for the ceremony. He calmed me down and said thats ok we will just read something. He chose to read The Art of Marriage it was written by a man on his 50th wedding anniversary for his children.
Ok it was time Chris was swooped out of the room along with Rev. Knox. Mom and I were left alone. My Father passed away in February and after getting some advice off the boards I asked my mom to walk me down the aisle. (Thank you so much guys :goodvibes ) So we waited for it all to begin.
Suddenly I heard music in the main room this was it my wedding was begining.

I could hear the Overworld Theme from the Legend of Zelda.(Live recording)
