From Oil Wells to Jingle Bells-Bells,pg.66, See you in September!

For the record, we have stayed at Pop, 5 times now, twice in the Sixties

ok, before I fininshed reading the sentance, I thought "wow the 60's really WERE good to him! he was seeing giant yo-yos, giant rubick's cubes, etc. etc.":happytv:

And I can guarantee you, if we should ever live long enough to have tried them all, Akershus at Norway will still be the last one on the list.

um, did you forget about our 2 year old granddaughter? where do you think she'll want to eat about 3 years from now?

We will be there ( I believe by my calculations of your "unofficial stay") for a few overlapping days. Too bad you and my DH aren't on the same flight together - you could freak out together! We went to WDW on our honeymoon and after a couple of early bloody mary's at the airport bar he finally got on the plane only to "supposedly" hear a popping noise. I told him to calm down and that he was freaking everyone around us out. Unfortuantely that is when the pilot announced overhead that we were going to have a slight delay because we just lost one of our landing tires!:rolleyes1

My brand new DH then proceeded to exit the plane rapidly leaving his new bride behind with to much luggage to drag off by herself. An hour and a half later they announced they were ready to get the flight moving again - I was worried DH would not return in time. But he did A LOT HAPPIER and carefree thanks to the airport bar. :dance3:

if we were on the same flight, you and I should start talking about how the filangees keep breaking down!!:rotfl2:

Yes, Nebo, I remember the kid on a bee. It was connected with Honey I Shrunk the Kids. I think that was there in '93, the first time we took our kids. Did I ever tell you our DD totally embarrassed us by running up to hug a security guard at MK on that trip? He was a little person, and my 3 y.o. DD thought he was a character.

Ack - welcome to the wonderful world of flying...you know how much I just LOVE it :rotfl: I'm actually going today to the doc to get some happy plane pills, we'll see if they work this time since they haven't in the past!

People keep telling me it's safer, but I say if we were about to drive into that tree we could swerve at the last second and live...if the plane is going into the tree, well you know the rest.:lmao:

But - you will get there quicker and it's more "Disney Time" as Mark would say...and yes, that didn't work on me either. :rotfl2:

This trip started with news our oldest son, Todd is getting married next July,

Congratulations:goodvibes

then we found out younger son Jeremy and his wife are expecting their second child somewhere in April. /QUOTE]

Congrats again:goodvibes

We realized there is no way to afford a trip next year, but maybe we can sneak one more in this year, and we'd really like to see the Christmas decorations again.

Then we got a PIN code.
49 bucks at Pop, sun-thu. , 59 on weekends.

Awesome deal!

But dates are really specific, so we booked a ten night stay.

Wahoo:yay:

We check into Pop Century on Nov. 28th, a Sunday, for 4 nights, then on December 2nd, a thursday, also the last day of the free dining, we have what will hopefully be a "continuing" reservation that will now start the free dining package, for 7 more nights.

Awesome!

Anyeay, this time we have requested a ground floor room in building 9 I believe, facing the computer pool.

We have stayed in building 9 twice and loved it! If you can get the corner room by Mr & Mrs Potatohead, it is a short walk to the DSA...just sayin:rolleyes1

actually, I was thinking "at least this time he can't blame his injuries on me!!!(ever notice how it's always "and Diane led me into the chain", "Diane led me into the door" etc etc.?)

Yes, but you don't think we actually believe him do you;)

um, did you forget about our 2 year old granddaughter? where do you think she'll want to eat about 3 years from now?

Cinderella's Royal Table ::yes:: Her first encounter with princesses should be in the Castle:cloud9:

Hi Nebo and Smidgy! Looks like I'm very late to the party... Is there room for one more??? :rotfl:

Loving the TR but not completely caught up as we are leaving for Florida tomorrow :yay: and I have not started packing :scared1: Will make sure to finish up on my return!

Smidgy, I sent you a PM, need some info on clean and cheap motels for a 1 night stay! Bye!!! :wave2:

I know someone who's got you beat! we had an "aquaintance" (let's call her sally) who had 3 kids (from 3 dif. fathers).
1 boy, 2 girls. the boy was the oldest, and his younger sister was also his aunt!:rotfl:
sally got pregnant from a boy(say, joe) when they were teens. had a baby boy. Joe didn't do the responsible thing, but his dad wanted to, so he "took in" sally and the baby boy. well (you know where this is going), sally had a baby by Joe's dad. a baby girl. who was the sister to the baby boy(by Joe). but the baby girl was also joe/s sister, hence, the baby boy's aunt. .. she could say "I would like you to meet my older brother.. who is also my nephew".

(... sally went on to marry someone else, had another girl, they divorced, and last I heard is married to a 4th guy, who is paying for 3rd baby's college, and sally doesn't work.)..probably too tired:lmao:

nebo always says, "how can you get that all straight?" I say." hey, years of watching my stupid soaps!!!"
I can't wait to tell my sister about this one. :lmao:

Shirley, this reminds me of my husband's relatives in Arkansas, can't keep track of who was once married and divorced and married a sister in law ;)....two days ago, my daughter watched the 'Airplane' movie and was quoting ...and don't call me Shirley
---
I watched Airplane on Sunday, I love that movie.

Y'all reminded me of one of my favorite pieces of poetry.
Sorry to say I don't know the author's name.

REDNECK LOVE POEM

SUSIE LEE DONE FELL IN LOVE;
SHE PLANNED TO MARRY JOE
SHE WAS SO HAPPY 'BOUT IT ALL
SHE TOLD HER PAPPY SO.

PAPPY TOLD HER, SUSIE GAL,
YOU'LL HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER.
I'D JUST AS SOON YO' MA DON'T KNOW,
BUT JOE IS YO' HALF BROTHER.

SO SUSIE PUT ASIDE HER JOE
AND PLANNED TO MARRY WILL,
BUT AFTER TELLING PAPPY THIS,
HE SAID, "THERE'S TROUBLE STILL.

YOU CAN'T MARRY WILL, MY GAL,
AND PLEASE DON'T TELL YOU' MOTHER,
BUT WILL AND JOE, AND SEVERAL MO'
I KNOW IS YO' HALF BROTHER.

BUT MAMA KNEW AND SAID, MY CHILD,
JUST DO WHAT MAKES YO' HAPPY.
MARRY WILL OR MARRY JOE.
YOU AIN'T NO KIN TO PAPPY.
Love it. :rotfl2:

I once worked with a lady who was married with one daughter. Her brother-in-law moved in with her and her husband. After a few months, she liked her BIL better and had a daughter with him. And they all still lived together, she just moved down the hall. So her kids were sisters and cousins.
Nothing like keeping it in the family. :thumbsup2

That's good stuff, really good, I just choked on my Early Times and corn flakes. Has anybody ever mentioned to you that sharing can be a bit overrrated? :rotfl:
 I know, that's what my mother said when in the 6th grade I wrote my autobiography. This was back in the early 60's when divorce was still something frowned upon. Hey I got an A and the teacher put it out for everyone to read. :woohoo:

Okay back to reading your trip report.

Nice pre-trip. My dh has 7 days of vacation to use, before the end of the year. Did I mention, my dh doesn't care if he doesn't use vacation days? I was seriously thinking of going about the same time. Except, we would only go from Wednesday to Sunday. Smart sticking with the pin code. We did the Disney Math and stayed with the pin code. But Disney food is really expensive. So I really can't remember which end won. I think the food won by $5.00.

You need to go get yourself a tranquilizer from your Dr. for flying.

Nebo, don't feel bad. DH hated flying (he was an air traffic controller in the Marines, said he saw what went on up there) and drove every trip.
4.gif
We started going in 1978 and it was interesting to see how the actual drive went from a two day trip in 1978 to a twelve hour trip in 2008 the last time we went. Good old 95 made a big difference.

Cool on a new trip, can't wait till you start another tr, I've been reading some of your old ones and throughly enjoying them.

I'll get a real chapter up tomorrow night, in the meantime it's time to check the magic mirror,
I see Danielle, I see lbaw, I see Smidgy, I see Smidgy, I see Smidgy............

A fake chapter? :confused3 Do you mean something copied and pasted from a previous TR?

I dislike the movies in China and Canada because you can't sit down!

Actually I don't mind not sitting Okittysquared, I like being able to turn around and as long as I have the railing to hang on to, it doesn't bother me, although that arogant little Chinese guy that narrates gets on my nerves.

Yep, that would do it for me, the next time you saw me I would be running down the Kennedy Expressway back to Carpentersville.

:dance3:

Isn't it amazing the comfort and advice you can get from a bartender? Sounds like he and I have a lot in common. Sure you don't want to cancel your Poly and join us over at POP? Right.

Hey Nebo and Smidgy! We will be at Pop Nov 30-Dec10! I am sure if one of you need to make a run up to Publix, DH would take you...I know how much you love to go there! :lmao:

Well thank you, (gonna go out on a limb here,) Tammy, very kind to offer. I take it you're driving down? Even if we don't take you up on the offer, we still could meet sometime hopefully.

WOOHOO for another Holiday visit! We've only been during the Christmas season. I've never even seen the place without Christmas trees! Our trip coming up next May will be the first time we've seen it naked.

Really? No kidding? I think you will love it there in May, the non Christmas trees and decorations are just beautiful, and the carolers all sing songs like Summer in the City and Happy Together.

You had me for a second with that parasailing crack! :rotfl2:

What? Too far out of the question? Do I detect a guantlet being thrown down?

WL is absolutely beautiful at Christmas! You will love it!

Congrats on the second grandbaby and the upcoming wedding ~ that is very exciting!

Thanks, that is pretty cool, if they keep spitting out enough of them, sooner or later I'll be able to take some of these offsping to the Mouse.

Winter/summerland mini golf is so cute! You get 50% off the second course after paying for the first, if you want to play both sides. And they let us do this using our package voucher too.

We didn't get around to using our voucher for PH, it is a pain to get to DTD using WDW transporation but we had considered going so we could get over to the Hess station to p/u beer. I'm a little slow, what is p/u? You have to go to the Hess to puke up beer?

Instead, we used Garden Grocer. They'll deliver your beer & wine if you place a minimum $40 grocery order their delivery charge is $12. You could easily rack up $40 having them deliver the bread, bologna, pop, water, bfast items, etc. Then you don't have to be dragging beer across the street. I mean, I've been following you TR, I know you embrace the fact you're going to hurt yourself at WDW but maybe crossing that street isn't a good idea for you......? Perhaps it should be avoided at all costs, just saying.... :goodvibes

Thanks for the info, Two Twiddles, no Waiting, I do remember almost getting creamed trying to get across 192 once before. The group waiting to cross made a dash when there was an opening leaving me limping along behind as the cars bore down on me. I felt like the wounded wildebeast trailing the herd with the lions stalking.

actually, I was thinking "at least this time he can't blame his injuries on me!!!(ever notice how it's always "and Diane led me into the chain", "Diane led me into the door" etc etc.?)

Hey Everybody! My wife! How can you not love her?

And I can guarantee you, if we should ever live long enough to have tried them all, Akershus at Norway will still be the last one on the list.

Flame Tree Barbecue

if we were on the same flight, you and I should start talking about how the filangees keep breaking down!!:rotfl2:

Filanges? What in the world is she talking about?
Due you get paid by the post?

Yes, Nebo, I remember the kid on a bee. It was connected with Honey I Shrunk the Kids. I think that was there in '93, the first time we took our kids. Did I ever tell you our DD totally embarrassed us by running up to hug a security guard at MK on that trip? He was a little person, and my 3 y.o. DD thought he was a character.

Thanks Danielle, I do remember ykou telling that story before, pretty funny.

Oh wow, I SO made the right decision on not writing a chapter tonight. As I was finishing up the last set of callouts a big storm blew in, I posted, then the lights flickered, went out for a second, then came back on. When I looked back at the screen I saw, "Starting Windows 7"

Ack - welcome to the wonderful world of flying...you know how much I just LOVE it :rotfl: I'm actually going today to the doc to get some happy plane pills, we'll see if they work this time since they haven't in the past!

Yes Tracy, I remember the "happy" look on your face sitting at the table waiting for the flight, and you're right, that line doesn't work on me, either.

Bummer...we check out of Pop on 11/27...gonna miss you by a day.

That's too bad Jill, I love to meet readers who then become friends. This happened to us about 6 times now with Tiggerbell, we were alway just arriving or she was just missing us constantly. And usually by 1 day.

Congratulations:goodvibes

We have stayed in building 9 twice and loved it! If you can get the corner room by Mr & Mrs Potatohead, it is a short walk to the DSA...just sayin:rolleyes1
I figure either side will work for us, there's alos a dsa next to the ppol, I'm just not sure how close we want to be to the lake with all the construction back in high gear across it.

Cinderella's Royal Table ::yes:: Her first encounter with princesses should be in the Castle:cloud9:

Thank you, anything but dead, Norwegian fish.

Hi Nebo and Smidgy! Looks like I'm very late to the party... Is there room for one more??? :rotfl:

Always room for one more, but face it, most people take a trip and when they come back the last thing they want to do is read trip reports. Go ahead, prove me wrong.

Loving the TR but not completely caught up as we are leaving for Florida tomorrow :yay: and I have not started packing :scared1: Will make sure to finish up on my return!

Smidgy, I sent you a PM, need some info on clean and cheap motels for a 1 night stay! Bye!!! :wave2:

Are you happy now? See what you started? It was priceless!
I knew you'd return to the scene of the crime sooner or later.

Marissa, I would be totally happy just once to do the free counter service dining plan, but it comes with mugs and "We don't need no more stinkin' mugs." And yes, I tried Xanax once before for the flight, doc gave me 5, I tried one a couple days a head of time to see what it would do, and I just hated it. I was groggy and useless for about 36 hours afterward. And yes, on the plane I took some vikes, they helped some. I was thinking of asking for a few Valium, Jaime says they work much better, i just hate to spend my first day at DIsney drooling.

Nebo, don't feel bad. DH hated flying (he was an air traffic controller in the Marines, said he saw what went on up there) and drove every trip.

P/U = pick-up?

:happytv::lmao::lmao: S Beauty, you just love to make a fool out me, don't you? Admit it, you work with Smidgy, right?

I was going to suggest valium, even a 1/2 tablet, will not make you drool. I took one before I zipped lined with my dd's. I didn't want my back going out, plus it kept me relaxed zipping through the trees.

Nebo and Smidgy, you know you absolutely HAVE to do a report for the next trip, especially since you won't be going next year. We can't wait that long in between!

Congrats on another grandbaby, w00t!!

Well thank you, (gonna go out on a limb here,) Tammy, very kind to offer. I take it you're driving down? Even if we don't take you up on the offer, we still could meet sometime hopefully.

Yes, we are driving. Taking 2 days to do it. MIL/ FIL live 1/2 way so we will stay there so DH can get some sleep...then its off to the world. It would be 20 hours streight.

Sounds like a great idea! We will have to see what we can get together when things get closer. I would love to meet you and Smidgy!

Congrats on the wedding and the new grandbaby on the way!!!:grouphug:

Along with contacting Smallpox, Malaria, Dysyntery and the Hiny viris from the recirculated air, I just hate not being in control of things.

Thursday,,,,,,,,,,,,Magical Depress time.
Hiney Virus???That's a new one. Is that wheen your butt is numb for 3 days from being crammed into a tiny seat that won't recline, while a 3 year old kicks your seat the entire time and his Parents don't even attempt to stop him???

I call it the Magical Depress on the way back too. It is awesome to be on that bus on the way TO WDW. Heading back to the airport is another story. And they pick you up so darn early.:headache:
maybe crossing that street isn't a good idea for you......? Perhaps it should be avoided at all costs, just saying.... :goodvibes
Ruh-roh....I think you need to take this advice Nebo....garden Grocer may be worth the extra expense:rolleyes1
And I can guarantee you, if we should ever live long enough to have tried them all, Akershus at Norway will still be the last one on the list.

Good point:thumbsup2

Along with contacting Smallpox, Malaria, Dysyntery and the Hiny viris from the recirculated air, I just hate not being in control of things.

Is the CDC coming up with a PSA to help combat this? :upsidedow

Here's my 2 cents worth of thoughts:

1. darn - we will be there in October - would have loved to meet the two of you!

2. Garden Grocer - sooooo worth the $12 and inflated prices. You do KNOW that you will have an 'incident' trying to cross 192, don't you? Not to mention the time you save for the convenience. I am travelling with a little one so saving time= big savings in my life!

3. Better get used to the idea of dead Norwegian fish - that granddaughter will win out for Akershus. We are going for dinner - you can always have the dumplings - they are just like IKEA's Swedish meatballs!

4. As for flying - I happen to love it. My advice - just don't think about the final Seinfeld episode while you are up there! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

5. And lastly, parasailing? Did you really think we would fall for that? Or should I say, that YOU would fall for that?:rotfl:

10 days at WDW with a for-sure-to-fall nebo - you just HAVE to write a TR for this!

Congrats on your family's news!
