From Oil Wells to Jingle Bells-Bells,pg.66, See you in September!

Glad to see you finally able to enjoy yourselves and relax.. love the pictures of BCV... i'm so jealous.. When i planned our next trip down, we originally tried to get BCV or BWV.. we traded through RCI our points into DVC, and had everything lined up during the time we wanted and waited one day too long to make the decision on where we were going to stay..

Soo.. now we're at SSR for a week instead.. going a week or so earlier than we orginialy planned (however that will work out better as the next week is PW week (i think). They get in the day we leave :) WE're all soo looking forward to seeing DW all decorated up for Christmas!!

When we first booked this trip through our DVC friends, they could get us BV but not BCV, but we were put on a waiting list. About a month before the trip we got a notice that we were switched over to BCV, which was great, we like it better than BV. I'm not sure how it works through RCI but is that an option? If we go, sounds like we'll be there at the same time, and from what I understand, PW checks in mostly on the fourth this year. Whatever you do, don't miss the Osbourne Lights, Ozzie really outdid himself.

BCV looks beautiful! I'm glad you were able to escape "Motel Hell"

They really are. Since nobody could really afford it otherwise, I highly suggest renting points from someone if you can.

Glad you found a great DSA at my former work home. I never noticed it, but that is probably cause that was the long way to work only travelled when shut out from regular parking by big drive in convention groups. GRRRRRRRRRRR!!

BTW, I quit smoking after 45 years, can you believe it? :scared1: July 23 at 10:30 am. My daughter moved back home and persuaded me and she was so excited about my quitting, that is really how I am managing to stick to it so far. Still a struggle every day, but i manage.

So glad your trip is turning around! Dang blisters though, ouch!

And I would NEVER EVER be jumping up and down to be picked for a show Smidgy, You can have all my turns!!!!!!!

That's just great about the smoking Marita, I've smoked a whole ton for 40 years now, and I'd give anything to quit. I told Smidgy taht I'm gonna give it all I got if and when we come back from an after Thanksgiving trip, but not going to try before cuz I don't want to ruin the trip.

BCV looks really pretty... calm and serene - ah someday:cloud9:

It really is great there, McDisney, we limited ourselves to just seeing Epcot and DHS while there and never once had to go on a bus.

:lmao: I love you guys :teeth:

We love you too, Colleen, and next time we can meet up, I'll actually be able to hear you.

sounds like an adventure!

Hi, welcome to the party, pal. My mind must really be shot. When I first read your screen name I kept seeing Monosexual, and I wasn't sure if that sounded like a good thing or not. But, on further review, I'm guessing there is a little town in Texas named Mona? Am I close?

Ok...I'm all caught up

There was too much to comment on but I made a little list of highlights....let's see if I can make any sense out of them.;)

Cherie, you do realize that you could be opening yourself back up again for abuse don't you?

Illuminations, reflections of a moron.....:lmao:

You know, I remember writing that, but I can't remember in what context I did, yep, I'm losing it.

I feel Smidgy's pain about the bathroom stops....had my gallbladder out many moons ago and now...well, I have to be carefull what I eat when traveling.

You guys haven't cornered the market on Immodium, as will come out in a later chapter.

And we're off.....growing up we made a monthly 3 hour trip to my grandparents and every time my mom would say...and we're off like a herd of turles....which over the years has turned into "a turd of hurtles"....I'm now my mom saying that as I pull out of the drive way with my kids...godd times.

leaving the bathroom bag.... isn't that a little mis-leading? I think "bag o'little friends" or "magical bag of phramacuticals" are a little more fitting.

Ha ha, real funny, but my cuticals are just fine, I didn't need an extra bag for them.

Dolly Parton trying to fasten Paris Hilton's bra in front...:lmao: I'm not sure if I will ever get that picture out of my mind

Yes, that would be Utube worthy.

Singing Stayin alive while naked....:rotfl2:

And what's so funny about that?

As for all the crap you went through with the soccer group...:scared1::headache::mad::sad2:

standing next to my wife with a dear fuzzy cup in hand

um, shouldn't that be the other way around?:rotfl:

Your right. It should have been, "Standing next to my dear fuzzy wife with cup in hand."

I agree! That "dear" was totally misplaced! I am sure it was a typo! ::yes::

Already taken care of.

Ok, let's see; Your telling me that you're working out? You joined an aerobics class? Oh, you're saying you need to go tinkle, I get it! Second door on your left down the hall.

:rotfl:

You know, I never thought about it that way. I will probably never watch the movie the same way again. ;) I used to hate the part where he yelled at the kids, but now that I'm a parent I can totally see where he was coming from. :rotfl: (Just kidding...well, sort of.)

Glad to read that the upgrades came in more forms than just the hotel. :thumbsup2 And you know if you had REALLY needed to get in your room, it would have taken longer! If only you had been a bit slower getting to the pool...

Nancy, I have ruined many movies for people over the years.
And I don't think it would have helped being slower out of the car. They watch, they wait, they have eyes everywhere. Either that or there is a hidden sensor just inside the gate that when crossed , signals the cell phone to ring.

I just found your TR! We are 75 days out until our return trip and your TR is reminding me of the dreaded Brazilian tour group experiences we have had - none to your extent. I may need to learn a few Portuguese phrases to put them in their place. Luckily, not that many during the time we are there, but Pop Warner starts to arrive.

Last year we switched from the moderates to staying at the Poly and haven't had to deal with any of the "groups". However, you still have to deal with the chair hogs who claim their chairs before they leave for the parks in the morning and the pool hoppers. I wish they would give guests wristbands or something to control this. But this year I will not be tolerating any of this....:dance3:

Can't wait to hear more and it's nice to meet you and Smidgy!

And nice to meet another guy on this thread, and one from a not too far away town to boot. At the Yacht and Beach Club, that is exactly what they do, slap a wrist band on you when you enter Stormalong Bay, although, being the devious type of person that I am, I could not resist trying to find a way to beat the security and get into the hallowed pool.
And I did. That will be coming up.

What? Standing next to my dear fuzzy cup with my wife in hand? That just doesn't make any sense Smidgy! ;)

Yeah, you tell her. Sic her!

In last night's chapter, I wrote this:

You know what would be great?
If every morning you were given an outline when you woke up, an outline that would tell you all the things you are going to encounter, or do, or say throughout the day and you could look it over a little and maybe prepare yourself ahead of time.

It sure would have helped me out this fine, Monday morning.

I will throw a couple of real subtle hints your way about my upcoming stupidity, see if you can catch on first.

Has anybody figured out what stupid thing I did that's coming up? I didn't think the hints were THAT subtle. :rolleyes1

For us, Thursday is our garbage pick-up day, so Wednsday night, like always, I dragged the garbage and recyle cans down to the curb.

As I stood there lining them up perfectly, it occurred to me that Monday was Labor Day, which means the schedule will be pushed back until Friday this week for us. So I dutifully hauled them back up the driveway into the garage again.

Now they want me to take them for a walk every night.

I swear you and my husband are related:lmao:

And right next to the fountain is a lattice covered SMOKING SECTION!
With one side overlooking the canal directly beneath it.
Wth chairs and benches!

It was without a doubt, the prettiest, most convenient, shaded, WONDERFUL DSA in all of DisneyWorld.

No! I'm so jealous! I must stay at a Deluxe now ::yes::

"Wow, this is incredible. You're going to sleep here tonight, aren't you?"

:lmao:

I pointed and yelled, "Look, he's come to take us to Dorothy", but I guess Diane, not being a morning person wasn't really in the mood and responded by using a verb followed by Dorothy and walked on ahead

:lmao:.

Ok, I have to admit something...................(hanging my head in shame) I have never read any of your TR's. I now know the error of my ways. I am thoroughly enjoying this TR and will go back and read the others.

:3dglassesthanks for the pic of dsa at beach club. I also drug my dh to see it once I found it. I agree the best one by far. We did a split stay between BCV and BV. Wish we could have had all the days there at BCV. We didn't get a pool view but still found it well laid out. I won some developer points from a sweepstakes so we were able to stay there. but your description of the dsa was spot on. just like being there again how did you like the dsa at boardwalk villas? we refered to them as the frying pans.
Hope to see another chapter soon tho.

Well, I'll guess it has something to do with your feet? I don't know how you could walk DHS in "clip clops" with blisters, I gotta have my dogs padded in thick socks & wrapped up in first aid tape.

But having read your travels, I'm just being a wishful thinker HOPING you have some pixiedust: on your DHS touring day.

I like the happy endings. But it sounds like it's not yet to be.....

This was my first attempt using RCI to get into DVC so I wasn't working with a lot of experience. As I understand it, there is no waitlist, you basically ahave to choose from whatever stock shows in the RCI website or on their computers if you call them..

Oh so you are planning yet another sequel soon? That's great.. maybe we'll run into you two somewhere in the world... Maybe bump into each while staring mesmerized at Ozzy's lights.. You know it just kills me... I saw their show on MTV.. He couldn't figure out how to use the remote control but he can make such an awesome light show!!! LOL :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yeah you must be rubbing off.. must be reading too many Nebo TR's...

Well it sounds like you finally found peace and quiet so you can relax.

I can't wait to hear what's next.

Oh, and I did finish "Feeding Nebo" so I have read all your TR's. Now I'm bored so write faster!

I'm back home.
We enjoyed Niagra Falls,
but my dh got a gleam in his eye,
when the GPS said we could be back in Wisconsin by midnight.
Slept through your flatland state, or I should say downtown Chicago.

Wow, 4 upates in 10 days.
You made me cry, laugh, be downright angry and
thank goodness you are now back to the Disney Narvana.
Love the BCV.
We actually stayed twice now. Once on our lawyer's rented points
and once on my dh company time.:rotfl: We figured if his company was paying for The Ritz, we cancelled that ressie and went to the BC.

On your exploring of the BC, did you notice a dip in the walkway, out in front of the MarketPlace? I could never figure out, why that hallway had a dip down, like the floor was sinking.

And nice to meet another guy on this thread, and one from a not too far away town to boot. Actually....not another guy:rolleyes: - I just don't take anyones crap and can have a slight temper when it comes to rude people :rolleyes1 I always need to remind myself that I am in WDW and to have a little more patience.popcorn:: You both had a lot of patience with these individuals I would have been in the managers face a lot sooner demanding a free upgrade to another hotel!

Not to promote you continuing to smoke BUT... I had what I thought was a trip of a lifetime with my parents and siblings turn into the most Magical trip to Hell...my dad has smoked 3 packs a day for 50 years :scared1: and quit via medication 2 months before our trip (but he never WANTED to quit). I planned this trip for my family for his 70th birthday staying at Wilderness Lodge Villas. So, enjoy your DSA's :smokin: at Thanksgiving and stay home for 6 months after ALONE...kidding. On a normal basis he's tough to live with and I'm SURE you're nothing like that, right Smidgy???

On a positive note, my sister and brother both quit smoking 3 years ago via the meds and have never looked back. You can do it if you really want it.

Here's the deal.

We drove into the city yesterday to take Diane's dad out to lunch, he lives with her brother and wife and since they are out of town it gave us a chance to check on hiim too. But when we got here, he was pretty sick, so I came back home and picked up stuffe we needed and put out a bunch of food for the cats and we are now staying here till Danny gets back, just don't want to leave him alone.

i'm using their computer rigtht now, but its really uncomfotable and I can barely see the screen so I'm afraid a new chapter wn't be up until tuesday night, wed. at the latest, sorry for the delay. Maybbe a little bit later I can atleast check the mailbag. neeb

I'm so sorry to hear Diane's dad is sick. It's great that you are able to stay there with him!

Sorry to hear about Diane's dad...don't worry about this, you have way more important stuff to deal with (and you know we will all be here when you get time).

Sending all of you positive thoughts for good health:grouphug:

Please bear with me here. I'm on a strange computer and a strange keyboard and feel like I"m sitting on a barstool with the keyboard and monitor knee heithgh,so you're going to see a lot of typos, not gonna take the time to keep hitting backspace and fix them. But fi I can take care of the mail bag, then hopefully I can get to a chpter when we get home.

You crack me up saying the looks of a crowded parking lot made you happy  but after the AS sports ordeal I can understand why.

WHen I get my WDW blisters, I use that white first aid tape & it keeps the blister from getting further rubbed & irritated. Then I put on a good pair of socks & tennis shoes. I think it's easier to walk the parks with tennies :)

Looking forward to reading some happy touring over at DHS :goodvibes

Hi Twiddles, and your solution to blisters is right on, makes perfect sense, definately the right way to handle it.
Except for me.

If I could get my foot in a sock, AND a shoe, it wouldn't have happened int he first place. I still think feet are the stupidest looking part of the human body, and I certainly would never thry to call attention to my own feet, but if you look back on the picture that smidgy took of me sitting on the chair when we were actually on the beach at Vero Beach, you'[ll see a big white scar running up the top of my right foot, and no, that's not a lighting effect, nor is it the only scar on the foot, unddrneath the ankle on the outside that you can't see is the area where they had to attathch a bone part from my hip, to hold it all back together again.

I enjoyed the look on my DD's face when I read this. Priceless!

We were both glad you found the pretty DSA. I don't smoke, but it sounds like a tourist location to visit.

Marie, have a picture coming up with me siitting there athat I forgot to post, and that had to be funny reading that to your daughter and watching her face as the nickel dropped in.

I swear you and my husband are related:lmao:

He's a classy world traveler like myself?

No! I'm so jealous! I must stay at a Deluxe now ::yes::

Janet, I still don't thaink you need to break the bank to stay at a deluxe, I don't think the step up in money is worth teh step up in anemones that separate the mods from the deluxes. But when you can stay at BCV like we are right now for 126 a night, well, of course you have to go for it. But we have yet to stay at a monorail resort. Next time we can take our friends up on releicving them of some points, it will probably be Bay Lake Tower. At least so we can knock another resort off our list.:rotfl:

:lmao:.

Ok, I have to admit something...................(hanging my head in shame) I have never read any of your TR's. I now know the error of my ways. I am thoroughly enjoying this TR and will go back and read the others.

hi reel mom, glad to have you aboard! You know, I grew up being very sensiteve about being laughed at as a kid. I found out as I got older that the best way to diffuse that was to laugh at yourself first. That philosophy has made life a whole lot more fun for myself, and thos e around me which is why I enjoy writing the reports so much.

We are just here to have fun, nothing more, noghting less.

:3dglassesthanks for the pic of dsa at beach club. I also drug my dh to see it once I found it. I agree the best one by far. We did a split stay between BCV and BV. Hi QB, great to have you. Sorry about the wait for a new chapter. We also agree with ou 100%. If we had a Boardwalk view, our position may have changed a bit, ut otherwise we like Beach club much better.

And yes, teh Dsa's at the Boardwalk really suck. There was one out on the path to the studios that wan't bad, just way too far out of the way. But the ones that you would actually use if you stayed there and needed a smoke were in what I athought was a tenement style area right next to the entrances to the building, a hot sweaty, no breezxe area, with no atmosphere at all, and nothieng to look at but walls.

Well, I'll guess it has something to do with your feet? I don't know how you could walk DHS in "clip clops" with blisters, I gotta have my dogs padded in thick socks & wrapped up in first aid tape.

I like the happy endings. But it sounds like it's not yet to be.....

Tweedles, you don't understand. I'm used to hurting myself at Disney, I know that going in and totally embrace it. In my opinion, the pixie dust was flowing for us once we left the soccer groups behind, no matter what happened the rest of the way. I guess that doesn't make much sense, but we still love all things Disney, usually no matter what happens, it was just the tour groups and the wya Keifer Sutherland acted that really sucked the magic out of the hat.

Did you beat up another Japanese person? Perhaps another elbow to the head... or step on one of them?

Becky, you'll be glad to know that no Japanese tourist were harmed in the filming of the nexst chapter, if I can ever get to it.

This was my first attempt using RCI to get into DVC so I wasn't working with a lot of experience. As I understand it, there is no waitlist, you basically ahave to choose from whatever stock shows in the RCI website or on their computers if you call them..

Whoa, whoa, hang on there a second mr and mrs Smith. At this point in my trip reporting, it pretty much has to be a "series of unfortunate events" that will lead me to writing a trip report. I wish I knew ahead of time that all the crap form this trip was going to happen so I could have taken more pictures to fill some space.

Yes, it does sound like your getting the same illnes I have, people will tell yyou that's a bad thing, but we know better. To be honest, there was a time when I was a huge fan of Black Sabbath, I thought some of the compostitons and arrangements were just brillaint. I could not believe that the moron know know as Ozzie was the mastermind behind all that, still feaks me out.

Well it sounds like you finally found peace and quiet so you can relax.

I can't wait to hear what's next.

Oh, and I did finish "Feeding Nebo" so I have read all your TR's. Now I'm bored so write faster!

Thanks OKS, I have heard that report was pretty funny, one of these days I'l have to get over there and read it.

I'm back home.
We enjoyed Niagra Falls,
but my dh got a gleam in his eye,
when the GPS said we could be back in Wisconsin by midnight.

You know, that is not what is usually referred to when you use the phrase, "gleam in his eye".
Just sayn'.

Slept through your flatland state, or I should say downtown Chicago.

Uh huh. Yep. Hallway has a dip. Floor is sinking. Ok, everyone, better humor her or she may get violent!

No, actually we didn't notice that. I asked Smidgy who usually notices all that kind of stuff, but she drew a blank too. Great, now I have to go back and find this spot!

And nice to meet another guy on this thread, and one from a not too far away town to boot. Whoops. Sorry about the gender screwup on my part, but rest assured, not the first time I 've done that.

The folks at Disney have screwed some things up for us in the past, when you take 17 trips down to them, mostly many with split stays it's bound to happen, and they have made things up to us when they have messed up. Once got an extra night at Music bak in 03 when they didn't put the park tickets on our room card, and once they gave us 4 water park tickets because some waitress at Captain Jack's restauarant double swiped our card and took too many table services credits off of it, creating a nasty scene our last day at Teppenyaki. So I prefeferred to save the arguements for something that might come up in the futere, rather then be placed on the "always looking for a comp" list. Believe me, if it was more than a two night stay, the whole thing would have been handeld differently.

Not to promote you continuing to smoke BUT... Yeah, Colly, I'm not stupid, at least not totally. I need to Quit, big time, but not going to ruin a trip to my favorite place in the world, which it now appears will be our last one for quite a while, and try to adjust to quitting smoking while I'm trying to enjoy life in Disny.

That's too bad about your dad, I know how that can be growing up in a smoking household. I haven't really given the big effort to quit now in the last 15 years, but I do remember the last time I tried, coming home from work and Diane askingt how my day went and responding, "What the hell does that supposed to mean?"

No, I'll wait until the trip is over, and after just enquiring about the cost of the drugs that help you quit, and my buddy has also used them and quit, but it's 175 bucks a month!, so looks like I"ll be trying it again. cold turkey.

Ok, hopefully back with me once again getting hurt and making an idiot of myself tomorrow. Oh wait, I forgot about Winkers.

I'm so sorry to hear Diane's dad is sick. It's great that you are able to stay there with him!

You are rigtht Cherie, while I don't like staying at other folks houses, no matter how close we are, this man has deserved all the respect in the world, somebody I have put my sights on for trying to be as classy as he has been all his life.

good night

Hope Diane's dad gets better soon! My mom quit smoking about ten years ago (let's just say she was in her late fifties ;)) after decades of smoking and it was rough, but she made it through. Although it was somehow better than all the times she tried to quit when I was in HS or college and we would go and buy her a pack just to stop the madness :rotfl:! I don't remember her really using a lot of meds...just some pill occasionally to help. Don't know if that's the same thing you'll do or not.

Hi Nebo and Diane!
Fantastic trip report and I see why everyone recommends reading them. I too must quit smoking and it the hardest things I have tried. I have tried the meds, fake cigs, and patches and I still couldn't. Giving it another try soon - probably Oct 1st if I can get my head together to do it.

Love hearing about your adventures :)

Tweedles, you don't understand. I'm used to hurting myself at Disney, I know that going in and totally embrace it.

:scared1: :lmao:

I'm going to have to go back & read your other TR's. You are a nut, although I am sorry to hear you have so much trouble with your feet.

I hope your wife's dad is doing better
