From Naples to Capri

I was wondering how rough the boat ride was to Capri. My mum wanted to go Capri but she was concerned that the boat ride would be too much for her 2 year old grandson.

I noticed that on the DCL excursion that it didn't recommend Capri for young riders. Would you say that the boat ride is too much for younger kids?

Keep in mind this was 10 years ago, but I would think things would be mostly the same now. We took the hydrofoil and it was pretty rough but you have nice seats (the boat we were on looked like an airplane inside) and it wasn't like we were thrown all over the place or anything I just think it would be hard to walk around during the trip. But because of the speed, it's pretty quick. You do have slower options that would be much calmer. I plan to bring my kids on the hydrofoil though, I think they'll find it fun!

Any restaurant recommendations on Capri?

We stayed at the Hotel Weber when we went and while I don't know if it would still be there or not, just below the hotel, on the small beach there, there was the most amazing little restaurant. We would eat lunch there and sit outside and watch the ocean. Seriously the most amazing Caprese salad and white wine we have ever had (Capri has their own wine and it's cheap and really yummy fyi). If you would look at a map and make your way down to the beach, you would find it easily, it was the only restaurant there and I'd be willing to bet it still is! Oh, it was really cheap at the time, too.

But truly just don't eat in the square and you won't spend as much. We ate at a different restaurant every night during the week we spent there and every where was just so good, you can't go wrong.

I love Capri and am counting the days until we go back.

Do you recall about how much this was pp? TIA :)

The chair lift was 6 Euros per person round trip I think. Definitely worth it for the ride & the views!

We rode over to Capri on the top of the boat outside and back to Naples on the bottom interior. I do not think it was rough at all and there were several small children riding the boat. You seem to feel less on the inside bottom part though, on the way back I hardly noticed we were moving.
