From MK bus stop to monorail station??

I can't remember if we would have to go through the Magic Kingdom bag check to go from the bus stop to the monorail station. (I was kind of thinking we would, but I'm not sure.)

On our first night of this next trip, we are planning to ride the bus from All Star Movies to the MK and then catch the monorail from the MK to the Poly for our dinner at Ohana. We may be kind of pressed for time, so I was going to advise the kids to leave their bags and things in the hotel room, if it would save some time.

Does anybody remember if we'd have to go through the MK bag check if we used the plan outlined above??

nope entrance to the monorail is before the bag check...

Thanks! I know the MK bag check is in kind of a funny place, and the traffic flow there is really strange. For some reason I was thinking that last time we tried something similar we ended up getting hung up at the bag check point.

They have folks coming off the monorail, boats and busses come together into a single entry point, where they can effect the security check. So you can go from one mode of transportation to the other without going through security.

I know the express monorail is outside the bag check area, but I think the resort monorail is inside the bag check area. We wanted to take the resort monorail on our last trip, exited the park and then saw it was inside the bag check.

You could also take the small boat that goes to the Polynesian and the GF to and from MK.

I don't think so Deb...I'm pretty sure all the resort section is open to the general public...at least it has been when we've done it. I don't think you can even access the monorail after going through bag check anymore. But, I could be wrong. I think you can just walk down the incline from the bus stops, past the entrance to the bag check area on your right, then up the incline to the monorail station, or off to the left for those little boats to both the GF and Polynesian. If there are a lot of people at the monorail and the boat is right there, or on its' way in, it might be faster to hop on the boat.

Hi! I did it yesterday without going through the bag check. Took a bus from POFQ, then monorail to Contemporary! Of course, they could change it

No, you can go along the front of the entrance, sort of along the fence, keep the water on your left.

It's definitely not and neither is the boat should you wish to take a nice boat ride.

All of the resort transportation at the MK is outside the bag check. It is possible that at the TTC center you have to go through some check? but I have not been there for a while.
