From living seas to UK for illuminations and then out the park

I was just wondering if you and your guests are able to walk from Living Seas over to the Lower UK for Illuminations?

Its really not that far and all of our guests are completely able. Also you would take longer to get on and off a bus than you would to actually walk there

Then there is the cost of the coach !! We would need to rent one to take us to Epcot and then keep it there to take us from the Living seas to the Lower UK!!!

Actually 1 more question.... can you just exit the park after illumunations through international gateway?? You don't need to hire a coach to take you out the park do you???

My guests were given the option to either walk or take the bus. Half of us walked over to lower UK and the other half took the bus. It was about a 10 minute walk.

We got there a few minutes before the guests that took the bus. I would say about 5 minutes before.

You will need to keep the coach to take your guests back to the hotel though. They can not just leave through international gateway. After the DP was over, all of us got back on the bus and were driven back to our hotels.

One thing to consider is weather back up location. If LSS is your backup then you won't have to worry about it, however, if you have a DP backup location within the world showcase how will your guests get there?

We had a welcome party for Illuminations and because so many of our guests were staying at the Yacht Club they walked over with us and walked back (actually took the boat) which worked out well as we only needed 1 bus instead of 2.

I was wondering this myself.

I am planning on my reception at LSS and then DP after (not sure france or UK or Italy).

My ceremony will be at SBP... so I was wondering if my guests would just be able to walk from SBP to LSS, and then from LSS to the DP... That motor coach seems like such a waste of money to keep it for the entire day.

What did your timeline for you day look like?
