I'm sure almost everyone by now has added their name to the Who's on this Board list in the other post. If not, add your name soon....
Meanwhile, the response has been tremendous, 170 posters in the 1st 24 hours, 255 posters currently. There probably will be some more posters as some folks are probably gone at times. (Off to Disney World right now?)
Anyway, with such a response, and being a retired Engineer who minored in math/statistics, I thought I would crunch some numbers for the list.
We're all part of the DVC Family and I wondered just what kind of a group this "Welcome Home" group is. Here's what I've come up with to calculate. If you have any other interesting statistic we might throw in, let me know so I can add it to the matrix before I start. I thought to let the original post go about a week, then do the statistics.
Here's what I plan:
# of responses: Total # of DIS DVC posters.
DIS poster current rating: "Welcome Guest" etc, by # and %
Where from: Foreign countries, US States (by State), by # and %.
For the US States, how do the posters represent their state. I will calculate a factor based on how many posters are from a particular state, vs that state's population.
What year everyone made their first DVC purchase, by # and %.
What resort was everyone's first purchase, by resort name, # and %
How many posts each poster has had. I figure to do some type of bar chart, 1-50, 50-100, etc. and show # and %
When did the poster register on the DIS site. Some type of breakdown by month/year, or quarter/year, or something. Show # and %
There will not be any information on anyone's name, username, or any other specific information people posted.
So that's the plan. If anyone has any other ideas on another statistic to capture, let me know. Meanwhile, look for the results in about a week.
