What would be the best economical way to get from Disney's FQ to Busch Gardens and is it really worth it? My cousin from Tampa wants to treat the family to Busch Gardens. We fly down and don't normally rent a car. I called Mears but we'd have to take Mears from Disney to another destination like Sea World or Universal, then change buses. They also said we would not arrive to BG until around 11am. They quoted a private car (limo/taxi) would cost $100.00 EACH WAY. Are there any other choices? I know it's usually expensive to rent a car for 1 or 2 days but is this my only other option?

I know Sea World offers shuttle buses to/from BG. You could take a taxi to/from Sea World, and board the bus there. Otherwise, I'd rent a car for the week and use it for other things, like stocking up on snacks/drinks for the room, and maybe hitting the outlets.

Thanks. By any chance, do you know the cost of a cab from the resorts to Sea World? I know Mears would be 19.00 p/person round trip to Sea World and there are 3 in our group, but I would not have the flexibility of time as I would the taxi. I guess I should check out the cost of a car for the week. Overall it may be cheaper even if I didn't use it for anything else. Or, I could forgo BG and not incur more expenses.

No I don't. We always drive to WDW. However, I'd noticed the signs at the entrance to SW that said they offered shuttle buses to BG, and always thought that was a nice service for folks who didn't want to make the drive.

I would rent a car for the day at the Disney Car Care Center. There is an Alamo location at the car care center. You would probably spend $25 for a mid size plus gas. The drive to Tampa is easy. We usually rent a car for one or two days.

I second this, except to add that you can also rent Alamo/National at the Dolphin resort if that happens to be more convenient for you.
