From couch to: WDW Full in 2010

Right now i'm taking Graduate Nursing Research, it isn't as bad as I had dreaded it to be. I am hopefully starting on my Nurse Practitioner courses in the fall, slowly but surely.

On the exercise front I am still doing well. I am hoping to have met my goal tomorrow when I weigh in at the gym, I like that scale better so I am holding out until I go to the gym tomorrow.

Well I did it! I lost 20 lbs in two months! I love the scale at the gym! :) Yesterday was a lazy day in the workout front but today I was back in full force :) Tomorrow a nice long run, maybe it will actually warm up and be nice enough to run outside for a change! I would like to run outside at least once before the race next Saturday. I made a cucumber and tomato salad tonight with ranch dressing it was good :) I also had some hamburger helper(I know not the best). But the salad was very summery and I will be taking it for lunch tomorrow along with some protein, maybe a tunafish sandwich. I don't know why I was so "wiped out" feeling yesterday, maybe because i'm working my 9th day in a row....two more to go!

Christine,
That is just awesome! 9 days in a row too and you are able to continue to work out.
20 lbs is a huge accomplishment.

It is beautiful out there today.Just came in from a run. it is nice to be outside. This weekend is supposed to be mid 50s I heard.

Good luck next Saturday

Linda

Today it was nice enough to run outside and you know what, I ran the entire way, almost 4 miles at a 12:52 pace. I love my Garmin, I am able to track my pace and how well I am doing. I am more than happy to be running outside again, I do my best when I am not cooped up in a gym running laps on a track with 5% humidity (way too dry). I still need to eat something for dinner, maybe just have a sandwich, I wasn't really hungry when I got home so I just sat on my butt and started drinking some water. Another bonus: I am still sticking to my moneysaving plan for Disney, even though it is starting to get challenging.

I never thought I needed or wanted a Garmin but since I have it I don't want to go without it.

Linda

Woo Hoo!!!

20 lbs lost! That is AWESOME!! :)

Way to go! :)

Way to go on the saving money bit, too. That IS hard! :)

I really like the scale at the gym, it looks like I may make my goal for next week if I keep working out the way I am :) At least I hope so, the truth will be told in a week! I was going to go for a run this morning while it was still decent weather out but I gave myself a break since it was my first day off in a while. Today was a pretty lazy day, tomorrow I have a lot of work to do for my class. I'm really sick of this particular class, it is not interesting to me at all whatsoever and I just can't wait to be done with it.

Took it easy today, only did 1.5 miles on the treadmill and lifted weights. I ended up going to the gym with one of my friends and that always is a distractor. Tomorrow hopefully it will still be nice enough to run outside as that is my plan for tomorrow and that's the last run I am going to do before the 5 mile on Saturday. Which reminds me, I HAVE to register for the run tomorrow!

Took today off, I got my new camera so I had to get the proper memory card for it and then I was pretty sore so I decided to take a break today. That and it is too windy to run outside today. Tomorrow will be 45 minutes on the elliptical and weights, and then Friday is a break day due to the run on Saturday. My daughter is insistent she will do this run with no problem, we will see. 12 year olds think they are really invincible......

Christine,
I did not realize you were a RN,me too! Doing all this and working towards your NP too- WOW!

12 year olds- ah, wait a couple more years, at least she wants to do it with you.

Is Saturday your first race? That is exciting! Let me know how it goes? Looks like it will be nice out for it.

Linda

Today I did the Shamrock run and I was pretty pleased with my results, I kept up about a 12:30 pace and finished the 5 miles in 64 minutes. My daughter finished in 70 minutes, running with her friend. I was pretty proud of her making it all that way. I did make a mistake today though, I ate a pancake breakfast before the run which made 5 miles all that more painful. It was fun though and it was symbolic, since that is how I started last time in 2007 with my training for the half marathon. I have not been behaving this week with eating, but as of tomorrow I will be back on track with that.

Christine,
Congratulation to you and your DD.I tried to get mine to do the Disney races with me but they don't want to train. :(

Yeah running on pancakes can't be good!

Linda

I am in a major funk right now and have to get out of it, the past two days I have been so lazy, came home from work both days and went straight to bed for a nap without working out! And today it was beautiful out! 50 degrees it would have been a perfect running day, but oh well.... Tomorrow is another day and I am going to the gym!

After a week of being BAD and LAZY, I am back. Ate decent today and burned 650 calories on the elliptical in 50 minutes. Feeling energized, wow I needed that. I hate it when I get lost on the path! 22 days until vacation, I need it ASAP!

Well i'm back in a funk, I need to pull myself out of it. I am starting this Friday, back to the gym again and i'm going to start going after work again. I kind of lost it a couple of weeks ago, that and mega stress at work due to an office troublemaker. I took a mental health day today and am going back with a renewed focus tomorrow. It's just frustrating when people cannot recognize their mistakes, I recognize mine and am the first person to admit when I make one. That is how we learn, we make a mistake and then put in play a better plan for the next time we are faced with that situation. I guess that is not everyone though. I have let that crap affect me in a negative manner though and I need to not lose ground with the progress I have made, because of one person. So back to making better choices, at work and at home :)

9 days till Disney, yay! I did better on the exercise front today, got the part of my paper written that had been just killing me and after a really good friday (got a new position at work) I am super excited to be starting back on my eating healthy plan. Ran/walked 3 miles today, felt pretty good, tomorrow to the YMCA :)

I have a goal too - turning 70 in august and joined W.W. 8 weks ago. Age and job doesn't help, I'm very sedentary as a receptionist at a law firm, but hope increasing my exercise will help. I'm trying to do the W. Watchers dvd's every few days, and also walk 1/2 hr on lunch. Glad to find others working to improve their health and self confidence. Go for it! I envy your running.

Hello:wave2:
I just found you and would like to follow along. I am also training to do the 5K and 1/2 in January 2010. I have never done any races before, but plan to find a couple in the Fall as practice. Looking forward to the journey.
You are doing awesome. :thumbsup2 Keep up the good work and congrats on the new position.

Hey everyone! Since I posted last I have a new job, much less stressful, a great group of coworkers and best of all it's a permanent position :) Oh yeah and I went to Disney, had an awesome time and OFFICIALLY registered for the half marathon. After two months of slacking off I was officially back out running tonight and I did a 5 mile run/walk. I am going to try to do the 5 miles three times a week and go to the gym the other days for weights and cardio. I plan on giving myself sundays off. I really am still considering the Boilermaker even though it is only two months away I was trained up for the 5 mile shamrock run, what is a couple more miles for a 15 K. Besides it is a really fun run anyway. Monday it's back to lean cuisine and yogurt for lunch and the gym after work :) Thanks for stopping by!!!!

Doing well, now two days into it again... I went to the gym again tonight, ran/walked for over half an hour and then did some weights :) And the best news yet?! I passed my graduate nursing research class, now there's something i'll NEVER have to take again!!!!!! Good things happening all around :)
