From Associate Member to Member?

Hi,

I am the associate member on our DVC contract. My husband is the member.

Our contract will be paid in full at the end of this month.

We have 2 small add on contracts, direct through Disney, as they had the exact number of points we needed at the resort we wanted.

Is there any way of me becoming a full member on our contract before the add ons are paid in full?

We are in the UK if that makes any difference.

I think they the loans need to be paid in full before they can be re-deeded. That is pretty much standard for real estate.

I thought that might be the case.

Before we signed the paperwork for the add on, our guide said it was possible, after the initial contract was paid in full.

I don't see why not. You'd be owner on the 0 contact but not the 1, 2 or 3 contact.

Well, you could re-deed the original contract, but that would then leave you with two separate DVC Memberships, so the points couldn't be used together for any one night of vacation without transferring points. It may also mean checking out and back in during a stay, if some nights are booked with one membership, and more nights with the add-on membership.

The advantage of having these separate memberships and being a "full member" would actually be of little benefit to the OP, assuming she travels with her husband...as she still will be able to get an discounted AP...and the other available DVC discounts, if traveling with her husband, would also be available to her.

In fact, I traveled with non-DVC friends (stayed on my points) and they were able to take advantage of the DVC discounts on massages and tours, even if I didn't participate in those activities.
