From AK to Chef Mick's

How do we get there? How much time to allow for travel? This is our first trip with ADRs and we've never travelled to a resort we weren't staying at. TIA!

Much of it depends on where you come in the bus arrival time. The actual drive only takes about twenty minutes. There is a bus that goes to the Contemporary and Poly. We did this last summer and the Conemporary was the first stop.

We just did this last week. We had a 5:00 ressie, so we left AK about 4:00 and took the Contemporary resort bus there. It got us there with about 20 minutes to spare. But that was good because it gave us some time to clean up a bit before dinner.

Thanks! That doesn't seem bad. Forgot to mention we are going 1st week of Aug. Do you think that would make it take longer?

Don't worry if you arrive late, they will still have your ADR and your name in the system. We always seem to arrive about 5 to 15 minutes late to Chef Mickey's. Sometimes there is no controlling the transportation.

Have fun and enjoy. We always start our trip with dinner and end with breakfast. It has become a tradition.

If you take the bus from the Animal Kingdom to the Contemporary you should have no problems.

Having stayed at the AK and made the mistake of depending on the buses... you might want to remember that you can also take the AK bus to MK and then jump on the monorail to get there... Sometimes the buses seem to be running on time and sometimes we found them to be very late.... so if you see the MK bus there you might find it quicker to use it and use the monorail.... look at it as another excuse to use the monorail.
