Do you cut your frogg toggs down to a smaller size? I just purchased one for use on our (first ever) July trip. We typically travel to WDW in the cooler months and I am trying to make sure we are prepared for the heat :)
I am also open to any other tips to keep cool...It will be me, my husband, our 7YO and 20 month old twins.

TIA!

I wasn't sure whether they could be cut until I read on here that someone else had done it. I cut mine in half long ways so that it is still long enough to wrap around an adult's neck, but it isn't as bulky.

Love the frog toggs! I cut mine and I remember reading either on the pamphlet or on line that you could do this. Still works one year later. Perfect for the heat.

We travel to Disney in Sept so we found a lot of tips from others to beat the heat. Below are the ones I found useful.

- Mini fan. Usually the cheap ones do not work well. I bought an $8 fan from walmart and went to use it the first day at the parks and it broke. Someone on the Dis recomended the coleman mini fan which can be purchased at target for $2 to $3. I bought it and was surprised how much air it put out for a mini fan.

- If you can, spend a few days at disney's water parks. They are so much fun and you barely feel the heat because you are in the water practically the whole time. For the little ones this could be fun. They have areas especially for them. Can't wait to go back.

- Definately, go back to your hotel for a few hours mid day! The heat really zaps your energy level and you feel so much better after a rest in the AC.

- If you are not staying at a hotel near by, another post from the Dis recommended taking a ride on the people mover. It is cool and relaxing. Also, others have recomended taking a couple rides round on the mono rail.

- I also recomend having ADR for dinners. It was so nice after walking around in the heat to have an ADR at a table service restaurant with AC. After eating we felt refreshed And ready for more park time.

- Drink lots of fluids. Nothing that is carbonated because that will dehydrate
you.

- For the twins if you are using a stroller, they have clip on fans. For your seven year old, she or he would probably love the mister fans they sell in the parks. I think they are only $11. They are really durable and easy to fill up. When you purchase them in the park, they are already filled with chilled water. It's a great souvenir for them. My son loved his!

- I personally can not stand the heat so the best thing I ever did was to rent a car. I did not have to wait anytime in the heat for a bus. When the QS breakfast area or TS breakfast area or pool were really far from the rooms we had, I did not have to worry about the long walk in 90*. Just hopped in the car with the ac blasting. Did not have to sit on a crowded bus. Also, we stopped at grocery store right before went to hotel and purchased several cases of water. That way did not have to pay for water in parks. Just placed them in mini fridge.

Have a great vacation! ;)

Are the Frogg Togg Chilly Pad and the Towel the same product? They look like different products to me, but I want to be sure. I think we'd like the one that can be draped around your neck so our hands could be free.

I bought the Chilly Pad which is 13 x 33 inches. The only towel I see on their website is the Aqua Towel which is a shammy like swim towel and a totally different product.

If you can tell me what "towel" you're referring to, I'll explain the difference if any.
Thank you for asking.:thumbsup2

Where do you purchase Frogg Toggs? Thanks!

We purchased a Frogg Togg Chilly dana today at Wal-mart in the sporting goods/camping section. They are in Walmart's online store. I have seen them on Amazon and Frogg Toggs has their own website.:) I have also seen them at sporting goods shops/golfing shops.

Walmart, Academy Sports, and Dicks Sporting Goods all have them. Around $13. Chamois colored, pink, blue and green. They are essential in the heat!

We're also going during a hot month instead of our usual cool month. I don't (yet) have any tips to share but I'll keep the frogg toggs chilly pad in mind!
