Frogg Togg Chilly sport and pads - do they work?

Thanks for sharing your pics of you wearing them, kbmartin! That's good to see how they look! Do you see a lot of people in the parks with them?

I didn't see many people wearing them, but people asked us constantly if they worked and how we liked them. Usually I got questions when I was rewetting them in the bathrooms. A ton of people asked us while we were at Animal Kingdom - the hottest of the parks.

When they work, they are great. They just didn't work for me last summer but I think it was because it was SO hot. I am going to give them another try in the future. The cold water feels good in the moment, not sure how long it lasts. They don't go too far down although you can cut them into any length you want, shorter or longer. These are the ones I bought. I cut them into two but sort of diagonally.

Thanks , ArwenMarie, for the link! I sure hope it's not super hot 90 degrees and up, on the 24 hr day weekend! I hate the heat and humidity, lol!

Thanks, kbmartin! Yeah, AK is super hot and humid, ugh!

I'm sure I will take mine along on our trip in late May. Maybe I will have a better experience

I certainly would not waste my precious cold water bottle water on these, but then again I probably stop every hour in the restroom anyway with the amount of water I drink. I bought some last summer but never had the chance to try them as it was at the end of our Massachusetts heat and when we went to WDW in November we didn't need them.

I found fountain/tap water worked just fine last August. the water didn't need to be particularly cold for the towel to cool as it dried for me.

my only word of advice--unless you actually want to donate your towel to a grinning ghost, make sure to carry a ziploc bag (and the crucial step: place the towel IN the ziploc whenever you head inside). otherwise it might get abandoned...er...donated.

We wore ours for our Labor Day trip. I wish I would have thought to cut them. It was too big for me, so I folded mine up quite a bit. I thought they worked fairly well and would definitely use them again if we took a trip in the summer. We re-wet ours every few hours, just using the water in the bathroom sinks. The instructions say you can use any temperature water, and we thought the sinks were fine.

DD absolutely loved hers and wore it for most of the trip. I wore mine if we were going to be out with no chance of A/C, but otherwise, I just carried mine in the bag.

We used them in August and love them. We just wet them as we went on in bathroom sinks. They stay cool a few hours. It isn't freezing, but definitly helps. We bought the larger ones and cut them. Just make sure to rinse them before putting them on a few times. They do have an odor at first, but it goes away. :-)

I liked my Frog Togg when I used it last summer. It worked good but I did not like that it got my shoulders & chest wet from wearing it. It didn't drip, just left huge wet marks on my shirt. That felt uncomfortable. Just make sure you drink water just the same as if you are not wearing one b/c that could lead to heat stroke in a hurry if you're not careful. I left mine at the Poly & lost & found never got back to me about it. I don't think I'd get another cooling towel. I'll just stick with ice water & hanging out in the AC every now & then.

My daughter and I used frogg toggs on our trip back in August and they worked really well! I found that if you wet them down at each bathroom break they have no problem staying cool.
