OK I little history I have been to DL several times and once with my DS(we have been going to WDW In includeing this year for the past 6 years) and since I was 8yo(I am 42:scared1: now). When I was a kid It was going down to see family and going to DL of course and we always drove by the DLR(when It was the only Grand hotel) and I look at like It was truley home of the magic. My parents alwys said when we where kids that If we had the money we would stay there one day,one day!. When I took my DS then 7yo(OMG Its been ten years:scared1:) he asked my why we did not stay here and like my parents I told hime If we had the money we would stay there.
Now we have the money,ok I am going to:rotfl2: Finaly stay at the resort of my and my DS Dreams:yay::yay::yay::yay:.
When I was there the frist time In 75 I fell a sleep after a very long day with my DM and my DS sitting by me on the steps of the DLR waiting for a cab. I can remeber :worship:begging my mom(because I was so tired):rotfl2: to stay at the resort and really thinking back then that Is was for only the rich.

Present, back In november when I started planning this coast to coast Disney trip(we are also going to WDW and US/ orlando see HP) I really did start out with plans to stay at DLR but at the time I just did not have the money to stay at DLR at 300+ a night. We wnt ahead and booked CCI and really felt good about It.Couple of weeks ago I found the resort drop there prices by a wopping 100$!!. At CCI I was going to spend about 130$ per night so for a extra 75 I had the chance to stay at my Dream. But i still regress and depated, and debated It was tearing me apart trying to go for It or settel for CCI wich I was not disspointed with mind you.
Today the 29th of March I jump with both feet In:cool1::cool1::cool1: and I can not tell you how happy I am,I try:confused3, here It may sounded like a bunch of rambling.
So what will I have to see at the resort must does and maybe donts? most of all I just wanted to thank all of you that where here to listen to my thoughts and dreams:goodvibes

Bless your heart, Seadd67!:goodvibes I think that is just absolutely wonderful for you that you will finally be able to stay at the Disneyland Hotel, which is, for many, the favorite hotel of the 3 hotels on property. I am so happy for you! Your childhood recollections of the hotel practically brought a tear to my eye - I am the same age as you, and I recall going to Disneyland as a young kid and seeing this hotel off in the distance that said 'Disneyland' on it, wondering what it was. I was told it was "only for adults" (of course, if someone said that to me in this day and age, with my warped mind I might think they meant something totally different!:rotfl2::rotfl2:;)) When I finally got to stay there many years later (probably not until I was about 21 years old or so), I was thrilled. In fact, the Disneyland Hotel (DLH) is the only place my friends and I stayed at for each Disneyland trip we made until the Paradise Pier came on the scene, and then we moved over there. And then I wanted to stay at the Grand Californian Hotel, but one of my friends was resistant to the GCH because she had become so attached to the DLH!!:rotfl2:

Anyway, well, first of all, you must be sure to check out the lush waterfalls and koi fish ponds. There are several wonderful Disney character topiaries on the property. There are miniature remote-controlled Jungle Cruise boats that your son would most likely enjoy. There are various statues and statuettes of Mickey and other characters in the lobby and by the entrance to the DLH. There are Hidden Mickeys and other Hidden characters in the carpets on the hallways! There is a great gift shop called the Fantasia Shop. Of course, Goofy's Kitchen character meal buffet is on property, as is Steakhouse 55 and Hook's Pointe. Inside the rooms, you will find bath products with Mickey ears - those are sure to be a big hit!

You will have a fantastic, magical time!!

Thanks for the kind words:cool1: It ment alot to share this with my friends here on Dis:goodvibes
