Frightfully Fun Parade

Yes, in previous year's DL's MHP featured the Mickey's Costume Cavalcade, which wasn't quite a full parade. It was more than the rainy day cavalcades they do; it was more like a cute mini-parade. I have photos of the 2014 version in this post (last year, they presented PtN instead of the Cavalcade). I'm looking forward to this new parade, which sounds more like Boo To You, but with some differences!

I was looking back through my photos of the Cavalcade and Boo-To-You and it surprised me, but the Cavalcade isn't as short as it seems. Based on the time stamps on my photos, it was about 11 minutes long. While Boo-To-You is much more elaborate, it was only 3 minutes longer (run time of about 14 minutes). So the Cavalcade isn't really that short of a parade after all!

are the photos i'm seeing online what we can expect from the FFP? It almost seems like they might be mixing up FFP and Boo to You but if this is what we can expect i'll be thrilled.

There aren't any photos of FFParade yet. So the photos you are seeing are of Boo to You...the info I have seen for FFP - no fab 5 or other 'friendly' Disney characters. There will be villains and special sections of Dr Faciliar and his shadow men, the hitchhiking ghosts, and Jack Skellington.

The photo in the first link is of the last float in the Cavalcade, but as the PP said, they've said the Fab 5 won't be in the new parade. However, I could see them re-purposing the float with a new theme or characters on it. I also wouldn't be surprised if there are some elements that are similar to the Boo-To-You Parade, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they drew from other parades at some of the overseas parks as well. I'm looking forward to seeing the new parade!

Do you think it's possible to watch the parade near IASW then follow the last float to Main street for fireworks?

I am tagging a few questions on to this thread.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get a seat for the parade? The BB dinner seems to be sold out for the night I can go. My husband has mobility issues and I don't know if he can stand long enough. Maybe the later showing will be better? Do you think BB would put us on a waiting list?

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll really know until after the first MHP. For most parades, yes, I think it's possible to follow the last float, but if I recall correctly, they did not allow guests to do this after PtN. So it's possible they'll continue that for the new MHP parade or (given the longer time break between the end of the parade and the start of fireworks) they may allow guests to follow the parade down to Main Street.

I don't think they'll do a waiting list, but you can keep checking for reservations. Some guests may end up cancelling; I would especially watch for cancellations after the first party when guests start reporting back about whether the parade viewing area is worth it and when the prime/ideal non-package viewing areas fill up. I do generally think that the second parade is usually less busy than the first. All that being said, I don't know if there are any true "seats" associated with the parade viewing or if the only seating is on the curb or ground.

I agree that right as the reviews begin to come in is the best time to start looking for cancellations on your day. But check regularly.

There are no seats even with the Blue Bayou package. The confirmation paperwork is very clear about this.

As for mobility issues, call or email city hall to see what they have to offer (and check in with them on the day as well).

Ahh well we are going to the second party of the year so I doubt we'll know beforehand if we can follow the floats
