Hi,

My son is a very fussy eater and eating out can be difficult for us. We need fries (or bread at a push!) on the menu, to know that we will be okay.

I have been checking the menus for the ADRs I have booked and there are a number that do not list fries. e.g. Chef Mickey, Akershaus. So now I'm panicing!

Do most Disney restaurants do fries even if they are not on the on-line menus?

How do others with fussy eater parents cope?

Any help most appreciated.

Many thanks,

Gill.

My DS8 is a fry conoisseur (spelling?) & I've just asked him....

Chef Mickey's...no
Boma..............yes
LTT...............he's not sure
1900 Park Fare...no
Crystal Palace....Yes! But you need to ask!!
CBR resort.........yes!
WCC................yes, he thinks

All of that was from an 8yo. Maybe someone else can correct me.
BTW...my DS8 is the PICKIEST eater on the planet. We love Chef Mickey's. He only eats the prime rib there & the bread...but we totally get our money's worth on all of the prime rib he eats there!

***Edited because I just remembered that about our 3rd time at Crystal Palace, the waiter overhead DS talking about fries (none on the buffet) & he said, "We do have them. Would you like me to have the chef make you a plate?" We couldn't believe it. The chef made up a plate full for all of us at no extra charge (we were on the Dining Plan). **Maybe the other places that don't have them on the buffets will do this as well. We never asked.

Considering that fries have a high level of carcinogens in them, I'd try to find places that have bread he'd eat instead. I've been weaning my daughter off her fry addiction, as the reports I've seen on the news and online are very disturbing!

If you need fries, there's a cart at McDonalds fry cart at MK - or at least there was one there when fries was all my daughter would eat at one point too! Just have him eat his fries before you go to dinner.

Her fry substitute was bread as well - we had such fun with the waiter at Fulton's when we ordered her a hotdog plate, no hotdog please, just the bread :rotfl:

We've gotten plain pasta when it was not on the menu, and a grilled cheese that wasn't on a menu either. I don't know about fries, as they might not even have them in the kitchen to begin with?

Wow maybe this is the reason for all the cancer. I keep thinking someday we'll find out that cancer is caused by something that is so much apart of our lives and that everyone comes in contact with. Fries would make sense.

Back on topic a little bit - my DD was 4 months old when we brought her to WDW and her grandfather was caught putting a fry in her mouth (we have great pictures). Now I blame him for our fry obsession!

DD is extremely picky and whenever we eat out around here as long as they have bread & butter sometimes that's all she'll eat.

I, too, avoid fries for myself and the kids. My very picky 7 year old ate lots of bread at buffets including Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, Boma, and Akershus. Most of these places had more than one type. Boma had some cool looking PB&J sandwiches he just loved.

My dd who is 2.5 would not eat anything from the kids or adult buffet at 1900 park fare. She didn't like the pizza and would not even look at the mac n cheese or baked chicken. All she wanted was chicken nuggets and fries. We spoke to our waitress about it and she actually had the chef from another restaraunt at the Grand Floridian to bring dd a plate of chicken fingers and yummy fries! I was glad that they were able to accomodate her so nicely! If you don't see the fries on the menu, just ask and see what happens.
