Friendship Boats to Hollywood Studios

Are the Friendship Boats to Hollywood Studios a reliable form of transportation from the Boardwalk in order to be at Hollywood Studios for Boarding Passes for ROTR. Not sure when service begins and what order boats pickup in morning.

Early boats are supposed to start shortly before 6:00 a.m. for 7:00 a.m. HS opening, with first stop at the Boardwalk on the early runs.
Stops following Boardwalk are YC/BC, Swan/Dolphin, and then HS.

I would check, when onsite, to confirm about the day you are thinking about, as schedules can change.

We were there in January (Beach Club) and anticipated having to walk to HS to get there before opening but when we were walking by the lighthouse that morning at 6:10, the boat was just pulling up so we took that and even after stopping at Swalphin, we were there in plenty of time. (7:00 am opening that day)

Just give yourself plenty of time if you are taking a boat. They are slow. Walking is faster.

You'll be fine taking the boat in the morning unless there are thunder clouds/lightening. The walk is reasonable if need be.

If you don't want to wait for the slow boat, and you don't want to or can't walk, you can always do Uber/Lyft/Minnie Van (assuming you are willing to pay).
