Friends

I've been reading about scams, bad trades and people getting mad and trying to get other people booted off VMK.... is there a plus to adding somebody as a friend? I mean I don't know these people and I don't remember meeting them.... why would they ask to be added as a friend?

You know, I've often wondered the same thing. I'm sure several people will disagree with this, but I personally have a friends list that is exclusively Disboards members, with the exception of one non-Disboards member who is a TIV podcast listener. I won't add someone I don't know as a friend. I only add people I know I can trust.

I agree. Players will send friend requests to me 24/7 just beacuse I have the Sparrow Costume! They don't get to know me, they don't say a word to me, they just ask to be my friend out of the blue! Most of my the ppl on my list are DIS members with a few exceptions for ppl that I've spent a little time getting to know. (Also my family bc a few relatives play VMK)

My new rule is: You have to have at least a conversation with me in order to be on my friends list!

As for your question, the "plus" of having friends on your list are that you can spend time with ppl, play games, talk, and have fun with others. Most of the time, you'll get asked my ppl who either want more friends and simply ask you, or bc they have nothing better to do. Or you may get judged by your clothes and pins, (say for example you have a rare item on your person) and you'll get a few billion requests. How you sort through all these hopefulls is up to you though! Hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies!! I like HP too, but I haven't read the last book yet. It's sitting on my bookshelf...I want to read it, but I don't want too...

Anyway, if I see ya'll in the rooms, I'll make sure I chat.

I like the friends list, when you play pirates you can easily find the person to start another game, you can always put someone on your list, and if they prove to not be a good friend, you can always delete them.

I know i always look for certain friends when i log on!

i keep my trade "off" and enjoy the game
