Friends Reaction- SPOILER ALERT

It wasn't very exciting, but I liked it. I loved the twins thing and I got the fairytale ending (Ross and Rachel) I was hoping for. I did cry. I'm going to miss is! :(

I know that it was very predictable for Ross and Rachel to get together but they HAD to do that. The die hard Friends fans who have watched this show from day one would not have had it any other way and I think they had "us" in mind when they wrote this one. Of course the ones that would just happen to catch an episode here or there would think it was boring and predictable.

Just gotta defend my Friends ;)

Was it me, or did Rachel say the s-word when she was looking for her boarding pass?!?! It didn't sound like "shoot", it sounded like the s-word. Maybe I'm just hearing things?!?!

I thought I heard that too but figured it was probably a "shoot".

I was surprised at what Chandler was comparing the pain of labor to, though.

Over all it was good but I agree with a lot of the complaints here.
What I really don't get is wouldn't the adption lawyer/service (what ever they used) know it was twins. I loved when Chandler said it was too bad that Joey didn't get to spend more time with Erica... LOL... she really was the female version of Joey. The twins were a good suprise but the whole thing seemed rushed. I mean wouldn't Monica's parents be arould. Wouldn't some of the gang showed up at the hospital.

I really thought it would end with Ross showing up in Paris but then that wouldn't have allowed then to all be together at the end.

Oh and why wouldn't Ross have Emma while Rachel was going to get settled in in Paris. I really agree the shows writers tends to like pregnancies but not kids.

The answering machine part was great.

Predictable is a good word for it. And I'm OK with that - it ended making me feel happy for them. They kept tying in elements from past episodes (most obviously the duck and the chick) so at the end the only thing missing was the monkey. During that last scene where the camera was panning across the apartment, I half expected to see Marcel coming in through the window and picking up one of the keys.

LOL

You know the one spoiler I heard was completely wrong. It said somethign about a a familiar scene from a hotel room window, so I was so expecting Ross to show up in Paris.

However when it was clear they weren't going to Paris I assumed the familiar scene in a window would be seeing the gang together through the window at Cetral Perk. Now that would have been a perfect ending.

I totally agree...I was waiting for the shot of the Central Perk at the end...them going out the way they came in...on that couch.

oh well...

This was a terrible episode. Friends has had MUCH better shows and much better Ross/Rachel reunion shows. The prom video one, for one.

All my DH and I could do was talk about the unrealistic elements...that was REALLY distracting. No Emma, no Ben...I read an interview with the show's writers where they said they consciously tried to keep them out of storylines because they noticed once babies were introduced to sitcoms, they usuallly became all about the baby and therefore cloying. Anyway, they may have done TOO thorough a job with that. It just reminds you again and again that this show is not even a little bit realistic. And don't get us started on the twins.

Secondly, Ross and Rachel's storyline ended so predictably. Why is it one person decides to fly off to Paris and the other has to race to catch them at the airport or it's over? When did Paris become code for the moon? You know, there are telephones. And he could have flown out to see her later. Not to mention, after their night together, Ross was asked if he wanted to be with Rachel. He stammered, "I don't know." GOOD GRIEF, MAN! If you don't know by now...and the same goes for her....then the answer is NO.

Count me as one who would have liked to see Phoebe say she was pregnant...or something to tie her story up with yummy Paul Rudd. And they left Joey hanging too. And why didn't Ross and Rachel get married and end with them and their baby as a family? So they got back together, big deal. With their relationship history, they would break up again immediately if the show went on.

Bad, bad show.

sha lyn---just saw that you are from Canton, GA--we just moved from near there--I used to teach in Canton.

It was okay but I guess my expectations were a little higher. I really wish they would have somehow made the birth of the babies a little more "emotional". I think they all should have been at the hospital.

I was hoping for more. The whole airport, trying to stop her from going to Paris to me was like the trying to get Emily to stay in America instead of going back to England.

The twins were a nice surprise, but could Chandler have been anymore undaddy like....say it like Chandler...I know its part of his character, but he had matured and this just seemed to cartoonish.

JMHO.

Cool...where did you teach?

yes the episode was predictable...and yes, there were unrealistic moments...but it's just a TV show!! lol

i, for one, enjoyed the finale. my only wish is that they would have tied up joey's story...either by saying he's off to hollywood or whatever...

i was very sad to see it end...but i still loved the episode and i loved that ross and rachel were together in the end...and i loved that they all went to central perk in the end...

i was a little dissapointed too. Here's how I would have like to see it end.

Monica & Chandler: Monica tells Chandler she has to talk to him about something important. Before she can, Erica goes into labor. EVERYONE goes to the hospital. Erica gives birth and as Chandler is holding the baby, she comments on how nice it will to have kids in their new house. He comments on being already to adopt again and she replies she's pregnant. Yay!!!!!!

Phoebe & Mike: since we know Mike is 'musical', it would have been neat that they decided to go on some kind of weird musical tour around the world. Seems like a Phoebe thing to do. After seeing M & C baby, Mike makes a comment about wanting one (which did happen) and Phoebe says good because we are going to in 7 months. Yay again!!!!!

Ross & Rachael: see everyone planning their lives and childrens lives. Start to say how hard it will be not seeing each other. Ross admits he doesn't want her to leave and he never stopped loving her. Rachael starts to cry and says she's felt the same way but didn't think he did. They kiss. Yay!!!

Joey: gets all 'Joey' upset and says how everyone is leaving and he can't handle the change. Chandler tells him maybe it's time for a change for him as well. They all encourage him to try Hollywood and say how much faith they have in him.

Ending: Flash forward a couple months: Everyone is gathered for a big event. The twins are now two months old and Monica and Phoebe are starting to show. Joey talks about his new place and living with his sister (which we know is going to happen). Music starts. The camera pans on the faces, including a crying Gunther, Susan and Carol, Ross's parents, Rachaels parents and sisters, friends, etc. (could have been a huge production). Down the aisle comes Ben holding his sister Emma. Joey, of course, does the ceremony and Ross and Rachael are finally married.

poohtown... I like your ending. I did find it very strange that the only non main characters on were Mike and Gunther. I mean no parents, no Carol (we haven't see her in a while have we?) no Ben or Emma either.

Dear head of NBC:
Please see attached alternate ending to Friends written by poohtown - THAT'S how you end a 10 year relationship!

;) good ending poohtown - love it!

I enjoyed it BUT I was a bit disappointed too. I laughed and cried a little but something was missing.

I felt it was rushed. I felt it just focused too much on the predicible ending with Ross and Rachael and it wasn't that exciting because it was just them getting back together AGAIN. It would have been better if they got married.

I wish they showed Emma.

I wish they did more with Pheobie and Joey's lives. Talk of CA for Joey and maybe Pheobie being pregnant.

Maybe seeing Monica and Chandlers house one more time

I wasn't impressed with the birth of the twins; too funny and not emmotional enough. I'm sorry but the whole gang should have been there like they were for all the other births.

I also think the final scene should have been at Central Perk with them all sitting together on the couch.

Oh well.

I feel it could have been so much better.

Well, it was kind of sad to see the apartment bare. I'll miss them, lol!:p

Maybe they should have brought in some of the fringe characters too. Like Janis yet again and maybe even Brad P too.

Oh wel, I hope the Joey show is good. :D

I liked it. Actually, I wasn't expecting to like the first hour of fluff....but that actually was really good. I felt like the wrapped up the last 10 min a little too fast, but I'm glad they didn't try to change the show's normal direction just because it was the series finale.
