I have this friend... and whenever I talk to her now, it seems that all she talks about is her bf. Sometimes it's so annoying when I'm around them... I hate being the third wheel. Being single, does that make me sound jealous... of her being in a relationship? I hope not... advice anyone...?

I have been there. In high school, my best friend of 3 years got a serious boyfriend. After years of spending every weekend with each other, all of a sudden, she was with him EVERY night. When she wasn't with him, it seemed she talked about him quite a bit.

I tried to talk to her about it, but, to be honest, high school girls in love don't exactly think too rationally about things like that.

Looking back MANY years later, my advice to you is to branch out and try to make other friends. Keep this friend, but just don't put all your effort into this one. I don't think what you are feeling is necessarily jealousy, but you probably just miss your friend.

thanks alot ...
i do have other friends, but i've known this particular one since we were in the womb! lol...

Have you tried discussing it with her?

When I was dating my BF in HS I spent Friday night with thegirls and Saturday nights we went out. Now when I look back on it I am so glad I made that decision because I still have those friends, but the BF is history! :)

well, jenn lynn, i have tried talking to her about it, but she doesn't agree that she spends all of her waking time thinking, talking, or being with him. at a dance, she was all over him, or should i say they were all over eachother, and when i said something, she said, no way! i just hope she doesn't get hurt because she really seems to like him...

I agree, branch out. But try to stick by her to a certain extent. BF's pass by, friends are forever. And next time, it may be YOU with the BF and her as the third wheel.

Any way, I know it's tough. Good luck to you.
