Friends and Family Discount

If I currently have our room and tickets purchased, and then want to purchase a discounted dining plan if it becomes available, will I have to buy additional park tickets like I would if I were taking part of a traditional free dining offer, which requires the purchase of at least two days of park tickets?

When I booked in May and purchased the dining plan with the discounts, I had to rebook as a resort package, but did not have to book any park tickets as I already had an annual pass.

No. But if you have a package room/ticket combo you can't add the cm discount to that. Discounted DP is only available WITH a cm room room discount.

Okay- hard hitting question here:

How do I become friends with a CM:goodvibes I mean- I got a wicket dry sense of humor and don't mind making a fool of myself for others amusement.

I'm pretty sure I can't get the family part of the friends and family discount since I'm married and my kids are too young to work.

I kid- I kid!

Can the F&F discount be combined with any other offers? For example, there is a special right now of "up to 30% off rooms at select Disney hotels." Would the F&F discount be in addition to that, or does it have to be off rack rate?

Last night I attempted to reserve using the Friends & Family discount. I was informed of the following:

1. Reservation had to be at the same resort as our military family member.
2. The difference in a Deluxe (7 nights) with rack rate and with the military offer was $300.
3. The difference in a value (7 nights) with rack rate and with the military offer was $40.
4. There was no difference in a mod.

????? Did I misunderstand the discount piece?

Thanks!

No. Only one offer can be used.

It doesn't sound right to me. And I don't know why you'd have to book the same resort if they are using a totally different discount.

We have our packages booked for late Feb. Does anyone know when the F&F discounts will be announced? Just trying to decide when I will get news of us being able to change our reservations and what not!

The regular rates are out now. The deeper discounts, who knows. End of December would probably be the earliest.

My cm friend is back at work soon and checking on May for me
Can't wait to see what there is, hoping for csr but for some reason most of the time she can get por much easier/more then anything else

Booked air today so getting excited

So, I have a 40% F and F room booked at AOA family suite first week in January. I want to add dining. I called today and was told my CM cousin had to call and cancel the room only and rebook as a package? Should I call back and try to make the change on my own?

Also, can I add the full price dining plan at any time? I doubt there will be the increased discount since we will be there leading up to marathon weekend, but was wondering if I should leave it alone until 21 days before and see if there is deeper discounts. I'm getting the dining plan regardless so not sure what to do.

Thanks for your help!!

You can add it at any time, so it's up to you if you want to wait.

They could easily have changed the guidelines for 2015 as far as modding it. They did start making he room and dining combos with the deeper discounts packages this year, so they may be doing it with standard discounts for next year.

You could call and try again and see if they tell you the same thing. It wouldn't be an issue this year to do as far as a I know, but some CMs prefer talking to the CM directly since it's technically canceling and rebooking, which is understandable.

Do CMs receive discounts for resorts during xmas week? Or is it blacked-out during that time? TIA! :)

I can't remember the exact dates from last year. My general rule of thumb if that if Disney isn't giving the rooms a 30% discount, they probably aren't going to give a 50%.

But again, I can't remember exact dates. I think they were similar to the public. Ending a few days prior.

We are checking in Oct 11- my CM called 2 weeks ago to try to add discounted dining/increase our 40% discount, but no-go. She said she would call again closer to the date- anyone know if they have seen anything for that time? How close to check in can she still call to get the 50% plus dining? I haven't done our online checkin yet- I assume I should wait til the time gets closer bc I know when you add dining, you change the reservation to a 'package'.....is that correct? Thanks for your help!!

We are getting excited for our 10/11 check in! We have a 40% off room thanks to CM friend. She tried about 2 weeks ago to increase to 50% and add dining but no-go. How close to check in can she still call? Has anyone seen better rate for that time? I haven't done our online checkin yet- should I wait til time gets closer to see if discount changes? Thanks so much! :-)
