Friends and Family Discount

We currently have 50% off cast discount for a standard room only. I tried to call today to inquire about either 60% or the discounted dining plan. First he told me 50% is the best discount I'm going to get. Then I mentioned we wanted to know about the dining plan, so he looked around for that for a bit. Put me on hold again and eventually said that there is no availability for it at Coronado for our dates. I got more info on the 60% off, including the booking code, so I tried to call again later this evening and the CM told me that their system is down and he can't even look up our reservation. It's a little annoying tbh. He told me to try again tomorrow, so I shall.

Is the CM staying with you? It's very possible that the 60% and discounted DP isn't available. There's been pretty limited availability.

Yes. And we never checked if the 60% was available because I was told there is no such thing.

If you inquired about the DP and the CM said there was no availability, I assume he checked with the 60% since you already have the 50%. That's the only reason there would be no availability when you already have the room at 50%.

Hopefully your next CM explains it better when you call and can give you a definitive answer.

AAarcher, we currently have the 40% discount thanks to a CM who is helping us as we're bringing our foster daughters to Disney for the first time (Oct. 4 - 11). Am I reading correctly that she may be able to call in and get an extra 10% off for a total of 50% off?

Also, I called in today (this morning) and they quoted $44 (adult) and $18 for Quick Service Dining Plan. That seemed high to me. Should I hold out?

That is about right for the dinning plan. The discount is not as big as it has been in the past. If you have the confirmation# you should be able to call and get the 50% and dinning added, if you want.

They would only be able to get you discounted dining if they can get you the 50% on the room. Sounds like they quoted you full price (which is what they'd put on with your current discount).
 
we currently have a F&F 40% off rate for November 13-23. I'm really hoping to add discounted dining to the trip. Can you please tell me when I can expect to start seeing any further offers added/cost of the dining plan?

Did I read this right, if you have a cast member discount set up by the cast member of course - you can then call and adjust things yourself?
For example we will most likely drop a day or two once flight info is released, can I do it myself or will I need the cast member to do it for me?
Also if the percentage increases between now and then can I do that or would the cast member need to do that

Yes. Once the initial reservation is made you can adjust things.

This person we know isn't sure how to check about this discount, since they've never done it before. Who do they call (I told them there should be a CM hotline??)

And second issue. I'm booked thru a travel agent right now, but I did give her my Disney reservation number. If a deal is available, will we have to cancel the current reservation, and re-book thru Disney directly?? Or can they adjust the reservation we currently have, since it's already in the Disney system?

The cast member needs to check on the HUB for availability. Also, the travel agent "owns" your reservation. You will need to have them cancel the reservation and have the cast member make the new one. There may or may not be availability at you current resort.
 
My CM just booked our room for us and I know that I can call and change/add things but can I change things online? If so, how?
 
My CM friend booked my room at POFQ for later this month. I know she has to show her CM ID within 10 days of my arrival. Does she have to go to FQ or can she go to any resort to show it?

No. Only full price Deluxe DDPs have been available.

She needs to show the resort you're going to be at via fax (front and back) or in person.
