Friends and Family Discount

Yes I was looking at the total price. I knew it was a new booking. I took the total price for my nights for the room only (including tax), took 60% off, added the additional adult fee (plus tax), added the dining plan price for 3 adults, and I came up almost $600 less for the total than I was given. Confirmed that it was the same level of room (garden view), same number of people, everything the same. The Pop total I was given was only a few dollars off from what I calculated there the exact same way. It just seems odd that my math for Pop was almost dead on (I understand a difference of a few bucks) but that the total for BC was so off.

It really worked out to about a 30% discount at BC. June 12-17 she told me for discount for room only was $1667.05 whereas the no discounted price is $2385. When I do math, half of $2385 is $1192.50. $1667.05 looks like a 30% discount to me. Add in the dining at $48.99 per person, and you get real close to the somewhere around $2406 I was quoted for the 60% plus dining. I figured it should be $1821.98. That's a huge difference when I thought BC would only be about $500 more than Pop and I'm being given a number closer to $1100 more than Pop.

If I've given too many details I can edit them out. But it's just math based on the known discounts.

I'm going to call again tonight to check again or check on other options. Just wanted to have something booked this morning since all of this took over an hour and I was late to work.

Edit: looking back up $1667.05 would be $1533.92 without the extra adult so more like 35% off but still not 50% (looking at room only). Either way the math I did for the totals has not changed. Just the possible percentage it looks like it was being quoted as.
Oh I just saw what happened as I kept reading. I'm glad it worked out for you.

We have a room only 40% discount for this December staying at the CBR. (our friends are cast members) and I'm thinking of adding the DP to our booking. Am i correct thinking if a better rate/dining plan discount becomes available nearer the time I can switch to the better rate? :)

Only if the room is available under the better rate. It's not a guarantee. If it's available they can switch it.

Many thanks for your reply. I'm just trying to work out the best way to book, also thinking of the free ddp offers at the moment. I will go and do the math.

We have a trip booked in November using the Family and friends discount. I have a few questions.
1. Can the dining plan be added to the hotel reservation now?
2. If it stays a room only reservation and a discounted dining plan comes up, can I add it myself or does my cm friend have to call?
3. On the flip side, if we already have dining plan and a discount comes up, can I add it myself or Does my cm friend still have to call?

I have never used this discount, so I have no clue how it all works! Any advice would be helpful!

Yes, you can add the DP at full price now. They will have to book you into a PKG, take a $200 deposit, cancel your RO reservation and refund it's deposit. Your balance will be due 45 days out.

You can call and inquire/add the dining plans and/or deeper discounts. The CM just makes the initial reservation.

Anybody know if they have released any additional discounts and/or discounted dining for June 14 and beyond? Looking back, the last time it was extended was at the beginning of May so I'm hoping maybe beginning of June they would add more dates. I know they don't always add the additional discount and maybe we are out of luck with it being summer dates. I can give a call in after work to check if no one knows.

Can I call Disney myself and see if there are any rooms at the CM discount rate before asking my cousin to go in and book it? I don't want to waste his time (he's new -- just started last week) if there aren't any rooms at the Beach Club anyway.

Depends on them but probably not since you don't have an existing reservation.

Nothing new released.
Hi!
I'm confused about this whole cm discount - my dd is recently employed at Disneyland and booked 3 rooms online for us for this December - one in which she will stay for the 50% discount and the other two with 40% for the rest of our family...I really think I want to get the Dining Plan for us, discounted or not...Do I need to get a package with tickets for everyone, including her in order to get dining plan for everyone? She gets in free, and I had actually thought we might use some of her comps to get three of us in a couple of the days...I thought I had more time to figure it out, but just came up on my 180 day mark today and found out I have to pay $536 upfront for CRT ADR, because I don't have dining help...Any advice so greatly appreciated :)

Just to follow up, my hope for a CM F &F discount at the Beach Club was just crushed. No rooms available during our stay. Still hoping for a room-only discount to come out, though.

You would have to convert to a package, yes. But the CM packages do not require tickets. It would just be the room and DP combo. You'd need a $200 deposit for each reservation (your room deposit will be refunded) and the balance would be due 45 days out.

Also, the CM can book up to 3 rooms with their discount if they are in one of the rooms and the resorts/dates are the same. I'd have her change you to the CM rate for an extra 10% off.

Did you check any other resorts? Is Beach Club your only option? I'd say book something just in case. Once something is booked, then you can call in yourself to check if anything opens. I was able to get I to Yacht Club after it was originally not available. As long as you don't mind putting down a 1 night deposit, I'd say book something. Even an all stars for a cheap deposit. You can always cancel if what you want doesn't open up.

Edit: what are your dates?

My mom has two rooms booked at the Contemporary from December 27-29, 2014, paying rack rate. She has an AP also but no discounts for that either.
Can we use a friends/family rate?
If so, how?
Thank you.

Is your mom a cast member? Im guessing not since she has an AP. Friends and family discounts are for friends and family of cast members. Do you have a friend or family member that is a cast member? If so, they need to book it for you.

Edit: I'm not sure if there are any blackout dates for friends and family rates
