We I really love WDW and this past trip(last week) I was a talker!LOL. I talked strangers everywhere.

On the bus, where are you coming from? Was it fun? Where did you eat? We just had .... etc.

On the boat, how old is your baby? Mine is 17mos. Is she having fun? Where did you get that hat? Did you just do Hoop-dee-doo?

Around the parks, wow wasn't that fun? Oh your picture turned out great. Can I take a picture of the both of you together?

So after days of this DH say "Wow you sure do talk to alot of people you don't even know"

I guess being from this small town and not too much to do, I was really glad to be out in the real world. I truly enjoyed conversations with new people.

So tell me.... do you talk to others more when you are in WDW? Or do you think I'm a crazy nosey lady?

I can empathize. Our last trip was our honeymoon and we wore the ears and we had a lot of people come up and talk to us. It was so great to meet so many people!

Dear Crazy Nosy Lady, ;)

You are not alone! DW and I love to chat it up with other people too. Love to hear other peoples perspectives and ideas. Also love to hear what their plans are and offer suggestions for activities and places to eat, etc.

That is part of the fun! Meeting people and sharing stories and ideas - no different from these boards. Same thing - just doing it in the flesh! You can still be anonymous - you don't have to identify yourself. just chat. It's fun!

We always talk to the people we meet at WDW. We talk to bus drivers, CM's, fellow vacationers. It's part of the fun to see what others have been up to and how they're enjoying their vacations.

I always talk to people at WDW..most of them are very friendly. Years ago before there was the internet and WDW boards I used to look forward to standing in line going into the theme parks, as I would talk to others who loved WDW as much as I do...

It is fun to talk to people from all over the world..part of the whole WDW experience.

Keep on chatting ...I would love to chat with you in the parks if we bump into each other ever....

PS..I am sure your baby is very cute ..:)

I believe one of the unspoken perks to staying onsight, is the bus, and all the nice people you can talk to (either on the bus, or in line, waiting for the bus, especially if you leave at park closing, there sometimes is a long time to wait, LOL!) My younger DD has Downs Syndrome, and for some odd reason, it seems to be a conversation starter for a lot of people, which I don't mind at all! Seems lots of people know someone, or she reminds them of someone, whatever! :D

I like to talk to others, it's interesting to find out where people are from. A few weeks ago at AK I was talking to a family that not only was from my home state, they lived in a town I used to live in and knew of all the places that they talked about. I love to talk to kids that are excited about being at WDW. I get a kick out of other peoples excitement.

When I'm in the mood, I talk to people wherever I am. Sometimes we end up in pretty good conversations, sometimes they think I'm a crazy nosy lady!
We ended up talking to a family where the parents had grown up in the same city I had, and had even attended the same schools. Also met other families from our native state.
My son had a GOH badge, and the CM's would strike up conversations with him.

We still talk with a family that had their child chosen to participate in the Tree Lighting cermony at the MK with our DD.

We plan on meeting up with them again sometime when our WDW paths cross. :)

We've always found ourselves being chatted to especially my 2 red headed children (or orange haired as DS 4 says) the americans seem to love it.

We find 'exchanging pleasantries' all adds to the disney magic.

I personaly never start talking first if it is someone i don't know
always been that way, but if the other person is a talker and they start first than i will talk as long as they like. My husband on the other hand will talk to anybody, sometimes i have to drag him away :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I always talk to other people. At WDW it makes waiting in lines go much faster. My sister is always amazed how people just open up to me and tell me their whole life's history. I used to be embarrassed as a child when my mother talked to strangers, and here I am now doing the same thing!!

I am so shy that I almost never start a conversation (being worried the other person won't want to talk or I won't have anything to say) but if someone talks to me first, I will talk and talk.. I love to find out about other eople ... I wish I was better at starting a conversation... I smile a lot and thats usually why people talk to me.

We also always seem to get into conversations with people. Neither my DH or myself ususally start them, but since we wear matching shirts and lanyards, people are always stopping us to find out where I got the shirts from. ( I make them). Also, if I over heard someone trying to figure out how to get somewhere in the parks or Disney and have no idea how to do it., I will tell them how to get there. WE have met such nice people doing this, it really enhances our trips.

I don't know why, but I am the one everybody approaches with camera in hand asking me if I will take their picture. If I get anywhere near the Castle or Universal globe, I can expect to take someones picture. DD says its because I look friendly. don't know, but who wouldn't be smiling at the happiest place on earth:D

I must confess to talking to anyone, anywhere if there is the slightest reason people are standing around in line or in groups.

This is one of the reasons I love going to WDW so much:D

Waiting in lines or riding on Disney transportation are perfect opportunities to start up a conversation. I have met the nicest people each trip. DH is very shy and so is my oldest DD but I'm a talker. I would much rather start up a conversation then sit or stand in silence. You can talk about anything and the majority of folks are very chatty. Once in a blue moon, you come across someone who doesn't want to be bothered...but in WDW that is very rare.

I love meeting new people and you just can't find a more diverse group than at WDW!! I especially like to help people out if they are new to Disney, I kinda feel like I'm returning some of the great tips and advice I've picked up here. On one of our stays I was helping a family and the dad couldn't believe that I had never worked for Disney!! I then told him all about the Dis boards!!

Oh and I probably should post a pic of ds8 so all of you know NOT to start up a conversation with him-he won't stop once he's started. Last fall I felt so bad for a lady from NJ. We were on the bus on the way to MNSSHP and they "chatted" all the way there. Then once we got there it seemed we kept falling in behind the same family in the lines, so my ds is now a part of their vacation video-they invited him to "act" in character (Sorcerer Mickey). It was really a lot of fun now that I think back on it!
