Friend Help inspired by canwegosoon

Our B-days are 2 weeks apart and I always remember to atleast send a card. She forgets mine and always have so it's no biggie if I don't hear from her. Well I haven't heard from her in awhile, I am leaving messages on her house phone like once a week. I don't like calling her cell incase she is at work or something. She has tried to get back to me maybe twice. I mailed her a Christmas card and did not get one on return, again no big. Well she mailed one to my parents with a note to save the date she got engaged. My mom kept asking me if I heard from her, so my mom finally told me on my Anniversay (new years day). So I put a congrats card in the mail and I figured I would wait for her to call. I am still waiting. We never got in a fight or anything, we do lead different lives now. Should I just chalk it up that my friendship for over 10 years is done?

Wow...she didn't tell you she is engaged..but told your parents(so obviously she wants them at the wedding)... Ok in this case I would say something-yea the b-day card is not crutial, but I would think an engagement would be something she would want to share with you...not through your parents. She obviously still wants to be your friend(because otherwise she would have just skipped over your parents), but she (IMO) is not holding up her end of the bargin.

I would get her a Hallmark card box and several different types cards to start her off, and say how it really brightens someone's day when they get a card or note. Hopefully she will get the hint. The Box and cards could be your engagement gift. Good Luck

I just don't get it anymore. I am at a loss. I really like the idea of the card box though. That is something I really think she would like.
