Friend cancelled what do I do?

I have a dilema guys, my friend was supposed to go down with us on a trip to HHN on oct.1. I bought his plane ticket and HHN ticket. He had to cancel cause his mom is sick. Any ideas what I can do with plane ticket and HHN ticket? All your ideas are greatly appreciated. Do you think I could take my sons friend instead? PLEASE help

I don't think you'll have any problem at all with your son using the ticket. Afterall you purchased it. Call the airlines and see how much it would cost to change the reservation to your son instead of your friend.
