To achieve the crispy shell like coating you need to use a method of breading that follows these steps:
1. Fill a shallow pie plate with seasoned Panko Bread Crumbs that have been pulsed
down in a food processor until it reaches the consistency of kosher salt.
2. Dredge a wheel of room temperature Borsin cheese in all purpose flour.
3. Coat floured Boursin with egg mixture (1egg + 1Tbs water)
4. Place coated Boursin in pie plate with bread crumbs and cover all sides
with crumbs; place in fridge for an hour to cool & firm up.
5. Deep fry using the swimming method (oil deep enough to float object
being fried) until golden brown
Dig in............it's done!!!
I have never made this, but the breading method is basic and works well with many foods to create that crispy shell like coating.
