we had the best fried dough at sleepy hollow on our last trip my question is this. is this the only place in MK to buy this particular item?

???
Sleepy Hollow serves various kinds of waffles and funnel cakes.

What kind of fried dough do you mean?

As far as I know Sleepy Hollow is the only place in MK. There is Funnel Cakes at EPCOT, Oasis Canteen at DHS, and there's a funnel cake stand at the Boardwalk. Used to be one at AK but that was with Camp Minnie Mickey so not sure if there is now. I meant to look last time but totally forgot. Hope that helps a bit! :)

Tease!!!! LOL!!!!

I love fried dough, and since I am a New England girl, I know fried dough! We have it at every fair and carnival, as well as on just about every beach. I think that the one thing missing on the Boardwalk is a Fried Dough kiosk. Summer in New England means that at every special event that takes place there is a variety of doughs sold, and eveyone has their favorite places to indulge.

Yes funnel cake us northerners call it fried dough....thanks

There is a huge difference between a funnel cake and fried dough. Fried dough is really dough, kind of like a pizza dough that is portioned out, shaped and then dropped into a deep fryer. It is then slathered with butter and sugar, or pizza sauce or any number of tasty toppings. We have them on all the beaches, and no self respecting fair or carnival is without the "fried Dough Booth. It is one of the most popular booths at our local firemans carnivals, and we all compare notes on "the best" town's dough.

A funnel cake is a batter that is dropped (they used to use funnels to drops rings of batter into hot oil, and then topped with all kinds of good stuff. I am almost embarrassed to admit that I love both and often have a hard time choosing which treat to eat. These hot tasty snacks of deliciousness are part of the reason I am not that person who "loses weight in the Summer". LOL!

Sounds like fried dough is what Midwesterners call "elephant ears". Love them so much more than funnel cake! I do think Sleepy Hollow is the only MK location for funnel cakes. We are partial to the seasonal flavors at the America kiosk in Epcot.

In Louisiana, we call them beignets.

Beignets gild the fried dough lily and thake them to a new level of Deliciousness! When we stay at POFQ, I amembarrassed to say how many of those luscious pillows of puffy fried bites I have!

OMG! After reading my own responses on fried carbs I believe I may need an intervention whenever a fryolator is around!

oh, no, elephant ears are so much better :) There used to be an elephant ear booth at our shrimp festival (in Florida).....

If you go alittle further north (like in Canada) we call them Beaver Tails!

yep, the beaver tails are basically smaller versions of the elephant ears......I miss that stand in Canada!

Funnel cakes make me sad when I want an elephant ear.....but beignets, their smaller, more poofy cousin, help to ease my pain.....

Here in NJ/NY we call fried dough zeppoles. They are fantastic. Small pieces of pizza dough fried and then sprinkled with powdered sugar.

I thought I was going to be the one to post about zeppoles.....Can't believe it took 14 posts to get there! ;)
YUM!

I am Italian American and fried dough and funnel cakes are definitely two different things. I have never found what I consider fried dough at Walt Disney World, but it could be a regional/ cultural thing.

I was going to ask what is the difference between a zeppole and fried dough is, but a fellow jersey person answered it.
