Just a word of caution here.
In the past, any type of SWAP (like the stroller swaps of the past), were allowed to remain on the boards because they did not involve the exchange of money between DISers. A DISer donated the stroller and then it was passed among the participants.
Another SWAP involving Pal Mickeys was not permitted to be active on the boards because money was being collected to pay for Pal Mickey, which was then passed from one participant to another. That SWAP ended up being completed off the boards via emails.
As long as no money passes hands here, we can allow the refrigerator SWAPS to remain. However, if money is being collected from participants in order to pay for part of the frig costs, the thread will have to be closed. I would hate to have to do that because I think that in theory this is a great idea. If the first user is willing to "donate" the frig for use by others, then there is no potential for any DISers to be out any money. The major concern would be that we run the risk of a DISer "cheating" the others out of either the frig or their money in such a SWAP.
Also, there are a lot of factors to consider, including what you will do if the refrigerator does not work, who will make sure that the refigerator is clean (perhaps including a bottle of cleaner and paper towels with the frig), and what you will do if there is a gap between users of the frig.
I wish you all luck in setting this up, but please, NO MONEY IS TO PASS HANDS! It's a rule that I have to enforce.
