Fridge Question

I was wondering, I am staying at a studio at SSR in August and wanted to know if the fridge in a studio has a freezer part? Might help with planning meals. Any info is greatly appreciated!

Yes and no. There is a very small freezer compartment (more like a shelf) but I have found it unreliable for keeping things frozen. An ice cube tray is about all it can handle.

The studio units (assuming they are the same as the ones at other DVC resorts) will have a small freezer section. Usually they do not freeze "hard" but should be sufficient to keep food "extra cold" for a couple of days. Ice cream won't do well, though.

The Freezer area is about 4 inches tall by 16 inches or so wide, maybe a little larger, but not much.

They are the largest dorm type, about 4.5 cu. ft. or so. As noted, they have a small freezer with a hinged door. They will work for keeping frozen dinners and the like but not much more. Since you have access to an ice machine, you can certainly take the ice trays out to maximize their size.

The picture above gives you some idea of the size of the refrig in the studios. This picture was taken at OKW but I am sure they are the same size as SSR

A picture is worth a 1,000 words. The freezer is the white part across the top.

We DVC folk sure take some strange photos. My friends who stayed at OKW in February (and quickly became members), came back with the standard "bathroom photos". I had to keep from laughing since that seems to be something that a lot of DVC folks add to their tourist album! Can't say that I take photos of toilets & tubs anywhere else that I stay
