There is a slight problem that we encountered with the new fridges. (not just us, my sister was with us and they had the same problem in their room and I have spoken to at least one other person who had the same trouble as well) What trouble, you ask? lol
It's not the fridge itself, but the cabinet they are in. First, it's so small inside the cabinet and the fridge fills the space and there is no ventilation, so that when you close the cabinet door it gets very hot inside from the fridge motor running. I think this is causing trouble for the fridges to stay really as cold as we would like. (ah, the conundrum: the harder the motor works to cool the fridge, the hotter the space gets)
Also, the door for the fridge and the doors for the cabinet......this is hard to explain but it is VERY easy to "catch" the fridge door on the hinge for the cabinet door, and then the fridge door doesn't close all the way--then due to the circumstances I mentioned above, plus an open fridge door means--very warm beverages. boohoo. LOL As I said, this has happened to several people with whom I have spoken. If they can't fix the ventilation problem (which would be difficult) they may be able to change the way the doors open so at least the fridge door won't get stuck open so easily. (although on those little fridges, it's doubtful)
After it happened to us 2-3 times, we started keeping the cabinet door open when we could, and always made triple sure to push the fridge door firmly closed--and then we double checked again. Unfortunately you can't leave the cabinet door open when you are gone from your room, because it is directly behind the hall door.
