We are planning a trip to florida in February 2010. We were at Universal in the first week of February 2008. It was a tuesday (fat tuesday to be exact) and it was dead in both universal parks ( I swear the whole state of Louisiana were on Disney property and didnt leave) we even pre-bought the express passes assuming it would be somewhat crowded and didnt even need them(since Disney was packed with Louisiana visitors, we assumed universal would be just as packed) anyway, it was great to go on a tuesday since the parkswere dead but for February 2010 we are planning to go on a friday & spend the whole day at both parks. SO....how are fridays in the beginning of February at Universal? I figured if it is more crowded than we expect we can always buy the express passes while we are at the parks.

Any info is greatly appreciated!!

I doubt it would be very busy...February is still considered slow season. The only question mark is how will the Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit (HR3) affect the lines at the Studios. I think it's going to be a huge draw for people and getting there early will be very important. Other than that...I don't see any issues with crowds.
