we absolutely loved, loved, loved....no adored, the WL. This resort is absolutely gorgeous...GORGEOUS, its serene, I mean perfect. Transportation on the boat to MK was effecient and a wonderful calm ride to the rest of the hectic days at the park, the mousekeeping was perfect. I thought Roaring Forks had good food with a good selection. The pool was beautiful and never ever too busy. We were room 5121 a bunkbed courtyard view.... I will try to post some pictures. I can't imagine staying anywhere else, we have talked about the poly for the monorail, but honestly I don't know if it would feel so cozy. The lighting in the rooms was dim, but I think it is on purpose for the overall ambience of hotel. I just can't say enough about the wonderful CM's there....Heather

That is why we now own DVC at the WL. We couldn't care less about the extra years ownership if we couldn't get into our FAVORITE resort at the tme we like to go most (DEC.) Now that you have tried it you MUST absolutely stay there in the Dec Holiday season and that will seal the deal.:thumbsup2 It is even BETTER if you can imagine that!:cool1:

I feel the same way about WL. Our first trip was for 6 nights at the WL and I was in love with the resort. We have tried Poly, CBR and OKW - but I don't feel like I'm in Disney unless I'm at WL! It is so nice to return to the serenity of WL after a day in the parks. I keep thinking that I want to try the pool at the Beach Club, but I don't know if I can stray from WL again!

Awesome view! Thanks for sharing the pics!

Awesome pics everyone! :goodvibes Heather, I'm glad to hear you had such a great time. We're thinking of staying there on our next trip in May '08, but wasn't sure of how the transportation would be, especially with 2 little ones in tow. (We stayed at the Poly last visit for the ease of the monorail and loved it.:thumbsup2 ) You're little guy is super cute btw. How did you find the bus transportation to be? :drive: ~Kristen

we never had any problem with catching buses, they were always there within minutes and never full. they would usually have one stop after us either the GF or FW, took us about 30 minutes to get anywhere but MK.
We spent 2 out of our 5 days there and we actually liked taking the resort boat to CR then take the monorail to epcot, so the monorail wasn't really difficult to get to, the resort boat was always very quick, I am not sure how often if comes or if we just had the luck of it always pulling in as we needed it. Buses were always plentiful and never full.... Heather

The xmas pics are amazing... my parents just came over and they want to go the first two weeks of Dec. when my son is closer to 5 or 6. They want WL, just curious how far we would have to book for that. A CM told us the first two weeks in Dec are the slowest time... Heather

Is known as the slowest times at WDW generally, but the WL is HIGHLY preferred at this time of the year, so it books up quickly. I would recommend booking there as soon as you know you want to be there and they are accepting reservations, or book through the DVC rent/trade boards. It books up quickly at the holiday season.:thumbsup2

Nothing against the villas or DVC but I would want the main hotel, and if I could be so lucky again the same type of view, it was amazing, the CM who checked us in was soooo nice, when we first checked in she gave us a choice of a room that was already ready on 2nd floor with courtyard view or a 5th floor room same view not ready, or a villa view 5th floor that was ready, obviously we waited and I am so glad.... heather

About you wanting to be in the Main building with the beautiful lobby and the restraunts close by, I am just suggesting that due to it's smaller size compared to some of the other resorts that it books fairly quickly for the holiday season and don't wait too long if you really have your heart set on staying there during the holiday.:thumbsup2

We stayed at the WL for the first time this year. I was really disappointed. The resort is beautiful. However we paid for a woodsview. We wanted a courtyard view but it was unavailable. We had a partial woodsveiw and partial service area. It wasn't worth the $$. We also thought the food was terrible. Roaring Forks and Whispering Cannon were disappointing. I wouldn't return, mostly because of the food and there are too many other resorts I want to try.

We went there for dinner one night and I really liked the resort. We walked around the pool area, took some pics and saw a cute bunny. It is on my wish list for next trip.

I am so glad that you enjoyed my favorite resort. I am in agreement with DisenyNuts as well - if you love it in September - you will LOVE it in December:santa: . Christmastime has a whole different warmth to it that you just can't describe or get from the pictures. The first time I stayed at the WL was at Christmastime and I have been back every year since then at Christmastime. I am also a proud DVC member at the WLV and can't imagine staying anywhere else. The views from the villas are also great if you are the upper floors with a view of the lake and pool. Thanks for the great pics.

So glad to hear you loved WL. We have stayed at the Poly for our family trips and ADORE it, but decided we need to branch out. I just booked 7 nights in April, courtyard view, bunk beds, and requested a high floor overlooking to pool. Can't wait! DH and I haven't told the kids, yet, and we are bursting at the seams with glee.

I would definately recommend room #5121. It was a courtyard view bunkbed room. It was high up and right in the center of the wing. Also not right on top of the pool so it wasn't really loud, although honestly the pool was never really crowded when we were there. I miss the sound of the boat horn as it was coming into the dock. I know the rooms aren't as big as the other deluxes but when you have such a gorgeous lobby and deck to relax in it was difficult to stay in the room. The roaring forks was good, and the mercantile shop had alot of groceries too, ohhhh do I miss it!

Thanks for sharing the photos, especially those holiday ones! Love that tree in the lobby!

We went to WL for dinner at Whispering Canyon and loved it. Lots of fun and the food was yummy!

Lily
