I had to try Fresh after seeing some pretty good reviews. The first thing I will say is that this is not a place for kids. It is reasonable enough in price for them, but unless your children are gourmet eaters then leave them at the room.

The selections included eggs & omlets to order, a mushroom and cheese omlet was excellent, Buffalo Pannini (didn't try - buffalo's not our thing), sauted lamb chops (dried out), leg of lamb (dry with poor gravy), an edged spahetti in a so so red sauce, mahi mahi that was fishy, they tried to tell me that the dried out roast beef they were slicing was a NY strip steak and I laughed right in the girls face, the beef at 1200 Park Fare was better, a whole half of a chicken breast in a dried cherry sauce was flavorless and dried out. I got the feeling that alot of the items were left over from breakfast

What we did like was the soup- a smoked corn chowder - excellent, the turkey salad, the salad with rasberry vinergarete (sp), the cheese and salami slices, the detox juice, and especially the desserts. If it wasn't for the deserts I would have felt ripped off. The desserts included tiny creme brulees, excellent pina collada cake, chocolate mouse pie, a papaya mouse :), cookies, and some so-so brownies.

They offered an excellent bottomless Sangria for $5.95.

One other disappointment was that they knew I came over from the Boardwalk because I tried to use my Room key for payment, I didn't know they didn't take this....but at that point they knew I was a DVC member. As a DVC member I get a 20% discount (I found this out later), but they could have alerted me to that in addition to my credit card they could have asked for the room key to get me the discount.

Bottom line is that I might try this for breakfast without the kids, but lunch is definately for now.

Sorry you had a bad lunch at Fresh. Your review was the first bad one I read about this restaurant. Hopefully they were just having a bad day. My DH and I had breakfast there last Dec and it was excellent. We are planning on dining there again this trip. I will let you know if I think it has gone downhill when we return.

Don't count on it. You have to know where you get the DVC discount...they will never assume, ask, or take the time to find out. That is why you are given the portable perks upon check-in. The Swan and Dolphin are Disney-owned resorts, so I'm sure looking for DVC Member on your room key is the least of their worries. They don't even do this at Disney Resorts.

Plus, word is that they're going to start asking for your blue DVC member card at these discounted locations instead of just depending on your room card.
