Fresh at Dolphin reviews needed

The breakfest buffet at Fresh is great. They offered all the favorites that you would expect and a few unexpected things too. It's our new favorite breakfest buffet now. As for lunch, we were not impressed. You can order off the menu for lunch and bypass the buffet though. We did not think the lunch buffet was anything special. Defiantly give the breakfest buffet a try!

We did the Sunday brunch at Fresh the day after the half marathon, 1/8. It was fabulous. Too much food, too many choices for me!! That day they were offering their omelettes and made-to-order eggs, as usual. I didn't notice if they were doing the specialty pancakes/french toast like they do at breakfast. Lunch choices were a wonderful curried lamb, pork tenderloin & sauce, ribs and a penne pasta with fresh basil and tomatoes. They also had wraps and panini-style sandwiches. Many salads (including meat salads) and a fantastic crepe and waffle area with all kinds of toppings (the winner was the Grand Marinier/orange sour cream which some of our party decided went with *everything*). Lox & bagels with all the trimmings (egg, onion, capers, etc.). Their fresh juice bar is enough to get me there anyway! Starbuck's coffee, too! Go and enjoy!

My daughter and I were kind of disappointed. She is vegan, and we had called in advance to be sure there would be vegan options, and they reassured us that we could just choose things from the buffet. Well, when we got there the ony vegan item was the salad! Not too impressive when you consider the cost of the buffet. So they said we'd have to order from the menu, but the waitress was not helpful in telling us what was vegan and what was not. At other restaurants, a chef has come out to discuss the menu items with us but that didn't happen here. Eventually we ordered something but after two bites my daughter realized there was egg in it (she is allergic). The waitress went back into the kitchen to check, and yes, there was egg (although she had earlier told us there wasn't). We were so frustrated by this whole experience that it completely put us off the restaurant. It was very different from what we'd experienced elsewhere in WDW.

We have done Fresh for breakfast several times..it is wonderful. Great service, great food.

Have never had a chance to try the lunch, but everyone we talk to loves it.

Fresh for breakfast is one of our "not to be missed" meals! We haven't had lunch there, but we do breakfast at least once each trip, often twice. They always feature normal pancakes and french toast as well as unusual ones. (The pumpkin pancakes are wonderful!) We also love the omelets - I'm very picky about omelets because I hate overdone eggs, and the ones at Fresh are consistantly great.

The lines for pancakes or omelets can be a bit long if there are conventions going on. There are other premade options on the buffet as well, though, and those lines don't get as long.

We also love the atmosphere. We tend to do several character meals each trip, and Fresh is a relaxing change from those!

I went to lunch there recently and it was very expensive; for my son and I it was around $45. There was plenty of food, but it wasn't very good, kind of bland. The wait staff was very nice, but I would go to the Dolphin Fountain or Tubbi's over Fresh. I had been wanting to try Fresh, but now that I have, I will go elsewhere.

We used to love Fresh for breakfast but the last time we tried it was in October and we weren't as happy. Not as many fresh fruit options and regular pancakes were premade and the consistency of a hockey puck although the specialty pancakes were still good. The specialty juices were still great and the freshly squeezed oj was too. If you are a Starbucks fan, you will be happy with the coffee.

We skipped it this month.

Service has always been wonderful though especially for a buffet. :cool1:

Thanks everyone. Some great feedback. Does anyone know how late their breakfast is offered (would like to make it a brunch) and are ADR's required/recommended?

Fresh is one of my favorite places to eat for lunch. I don't enjoy buffets as a rule. If you enjoy food cooked fresh with a "gourmet" touch this is the place to eat. They have wonderful rotisserie cooked lamb and other meats. They change their menu daily. I have had wonderful mahi mahi with fruit salsa, fresh cooked pasta dishes, curried lamb dishes, Wonderful fresh tossed salads, great soups. The dessert table is outstanding. I try to eat at Fresh at least two times on each visit. I have tried their breakfast/brunch also and enjoyed it very much. The buffet line set-up is rather awkward, but the quality of the food outweighs this negative. :lovestruc
